Well, that is the final straw.. Have had a close place in my heart for DQ as it was my first job 35 years ago. Have not been often but when coupons come through I try to give it a crack. This particular store in Edmonds has been a bit of up and down for the few times have been this last year or so; can't order what i want as no lettuce... (supply issues) Ces't la vie, it happens even if apparently here its regular or I am just lucky... Today takes the cake. Ordered combo, had the coupon. Kid takes the coupon and says bill is 16.56... do I have a problem with it upgrading to 16.60 as they have a problem with pennies. I said "no problem for me "as have exact change. Gave the kid 20.56 and he said he couldn't take it as it auto upgrades on cash to 16.60. I said no, gave you exact change. Couldn't take it.. If I pay by card 16.56 if pay by cash 16.60. Yes, ridiculous to take a stand over 4 cents... but I gave exact change can't be an issue, but apparently it is. So... drove away.. that's it.. if your policies are so stupid you can't accept exact change on a walk in/drive through business. You don't need our business. read more

This was the worst DQ experience I've ever had. Sat in the drive thru line for 30 minutes. Once we finally got to the screen to order, we waited another 5 minutes until someone took our order. When we finally got to the pickup window, they gave us our order a blizzard and watery milkshake. Been going here awhile via drive through, this is my succinct review. Stick with soft serve cones and Blizzards. Much better service from DQs in Poulsbo and Lynnwood. At this Edmonds location, it's hit or miss. I primarily go here due to my son. Plus there's a bag charge which is ridiculous (10/10/24), since other places like McDonald's, Jack in the Box, Taco Bell, and local chain Dick's do not. read more

I was very pleased with my experience at the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill on 212th Street Southwest in Edmonds this morning. Arriving a few minutes after opening in the morning, I was coming to see what looked/sounded good. Dairy Queen was not a new restaurant chain for me, rather I decided to treat this trip a little different and not set what I wanted in advance. Looking over the menu in-person, I was drawn towards the frozen novelties - though some of the burger options caught my eye as well. The banana split was what I focused my attention on and ultimately ordered. The front counter worker was friendly and quick to fill my order. I paid in cash and found two different options for tipping change - one for a Seattle Children's charity and one with no label. I went with the Seattle Children's charity today, Thursday 25 July 2024, for my coin change. The banana split included a banana sliced lengthwise and placed towards the outer lengths of the container. Between the banana slices were three scoops of soft serve, each with a different topping (chocolate, pineapple, and strawberry). A long spoon came with the item. Flavors were true to what each component was, and the banana was ripe. It was a satisfying serving size, mix of flavors, and spot on in terms of temperature and consistency. read more

This specific location either needs to be shut down or cleaned vigorously. The DOH will be receiving a report. Because as a medical worker this is a disgrace. Terrible service, workers looked visibly mad just being there. Their back of house was filthy. There was toppings all over the counter spilled over syrup, people not wearing gloves. The tables weren't cleaned. The chairs were disgusting and I got a severe stomach bug within 30-40 minutes of indulging in their ice cream. Almost as if someone had literally taken a shit in my ice cream. Definitely the worst restaurant/fast food joint I've ever been to. Complete horrible service, if I could rate it a 0 star I would. I believe it was the manager making our ice cream. He was rushing, ice cream dripping on side of the cup & proceeded to wipe it with his fingers NO GLOVES then licks his finger right infront of us & then says "it must have been someone else" when we told him to wash his hands. The inside is a complete mess, tables not wiped. Ice cream all over grounds and chairs & napkins all over the place. If you try to use rewards or deals in the drive thru, half of the time they'll "scan" it but mess it up or just flat out lie and then you get scammed out of the deal. In store, I've never had issues. Mobile app orders are great too. Limited blizzard choices on the app but there's a better selection ordering in person. Love Dairy Queen cakes though they're a bit pricey. Ice cream cakes here don't actually have cake whereas other chains and bakeries will include cake. Keep that in mind if you're looking for a cake, but if you're an ice cream fanatic, it's a hit. read more

Saw the drive through was busy so placed an online order instead, and it said the "promised" pickup time would be in 12 minutes at 8:57. At 9:10 I went to the counter and asked about the status of our order, and without checking the girl told us that we were waiting on the ice cream. I told her I saw the guy make them about 5 minutes earlier, and she said we needed to wait for the ice cream. Another 20 minutes passes (30+ since the promised pickup time), and I ask again, since a new guy started working in the front. He immediately grabbed our blizzards out of the fridge where they had been sitting the entire time, and no one had bothered checking. They were completely melted and no one apologized or anything, just left them on the counter and walked away. In total we waited 45 minutes from the point of ordering, and spent half of that time waiting for someone to actually serve me at the counter instead of making eye contact and continuing to walk by. read more

My wife ordered the chocolate brownie extreme blizzard tonight, upon getting to the window and paying she noticed the employee didn't flip her blizzard. She kindly told him he didn't flip it and to our surprise his response was 'you can flip it yourself' and shut the window on us. The only reason we even said anything was because she remembered they give out a coupon for a free blizzard or refund you for the one you got. He ignored us at the window as well as all the other employees who witnessed what happened. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. We waited and the first thing he said was 'your holding up the line'. We are not ever rude to people in the customer service industry because we understand it's a tough job and people are so mean to the workers. But I will state that is what the job entails sometimes and you shouldn't have been so rude to my wife who was perfectly nice and sweet. Not sure who owns this DQ but you can tell their priority is cost saving opposed to catering to their customer. I ordered a chocolate shake. It looked like a caramel shake. I questioned it upon receipt. They refused to make me another one stating this is how we make them. It tasted like milk with extra sugar and vanilla. I had to throw it out because it was so sickly inedible. $6.00 I'll never see again. The BEST DQ is on 167th and Hwy 99 in Lynnwood! Friendly and caters to the customer. And their chocolate shakes!!! Need to work on customer service with these teenagers who laugh over the intercom while taking orders, and are blatantly on their phones in the drive through window while customers are waiting to pay and receive their order when it's sitting right there in plain sight. I'm not sure if the problem at this Dairy Queen is that the speaker and microphone at the drive thru is horrible and needs to be replaced immediately or that the morale of the staff is so low that they all act like they could care less about customer service, but this is the worst Dairy Queen I've ever been to. The last three times I've tried to order through the drive through they have messed up my order and then give me attitude when I try to get the correct thing I ordered. It's extremely difficult to understand the staff with the awful audio and through thick accents. They have no screen to confirm your order. Then I go to fill my soda and there no carbonation in any of the drinks, but of course when I bring it up, they already know that. We have enjoyed Dairy Queen blizzards for years, but after the last few times we have bought blizzards at this location, we will not be back. Your blizzard are over 7.00 with tax for a small one and they are terrible. The ice cream is melting, cup not filled to top and light on topping- such as butterfinger, etc. Also the manager needs to work on customer service of employees which isn't very good. OK, so the service was good, pretty fast considering they were packed. I went inside because the drive-thru line was long. Inside they were quite busy as well and the two workers (one at the drive-thru window and one at the counter) never stopped moving. I ordered a cheeseburger meal and the fries were hot and tasty, but the burger was the worst looking burger I've ever had at a fast food place. I was surprised at how unappetizing it looked. It didn't taste bad, but it looked awful. I wouldn't have served it to my guests. So, taking into consideration how much late afternoon traffic there is at that location, it just takes too long to get in and out. I got a chicken strip basket with these little small biscuits (usually comes with Texas toast) and a side of the pretzel sticks with queso. The chicken strips are all white meat, not formed. Fries were crisp and the biscuits were just fine. The gravy was good though I wish the container was fuller. I would order the pretzel sticks again. They were the perfect amount of salt and size as a snack and did the job! The dipping sauce was also pretty good, a slightly spicy queso. read more

Avoid this DQ if possible. One of the worst customer service experiences I have had in a long time. Young person working the drive through had a nasty look the whole interaction. She didn't bag the order and practically threw the food at me. Thankfully I checked the order and it was wrong. I went inside and they claimed my card didn't go threw and made me pay again to get the right order. I'm going to now have to watch my bank like a hawk to make sure that they didn't double charge me. A d I may have to cancel my card because I know I saw the person in the drive through scan it so I have to wonder if they stole my card number. Is it worth losing loyal customers over a melted banana split that you simply could've just remade without the sauce that melts everything? "That's the way DQ makes them". And "you picked up it 20min ago" which isn't true--prove it. It probably took about 20min to wait for our main food order anyway as they were prioritizing drive-thru customers. The banana split ice cream was melted the moment I opened the plastic container it comes in to keep everything in. I tried to share it with my kids but it was a complete mess spilling out of the container. The other ice cream was great--blizzard was on point and cones stayed up without melting. They also ask for tip on their receipts which implies some kind of customer service which lacked today. Our 3 kids are sad we won't be frequenting anymore after not feeling like worthy customers. Had to repeat 4 x that I wanted "2 blizzards size SMALL ...after 25 min in LINE....two cars ahead must have been ordering for a banquet....bag after bag, then customer handing the sandwiches back and forth to the associate who was working the window. This place was the nastiest place ever. The new owners don't wash their hands after they go to the bathroom, their hands were covered in dirt and handle your food after touching the money. They have set prices and then charge you more than the set price. They can barely understand what you are saying too. Never go to this location until they have new owners. I am usually not the kind of person that leaves reviews. However, after mulling over what I witnessed at the Edmonds Dairy Queen a couple of days ago, my conscience will not let me stay silent. I stopped in the DQ on XXX around noon, and sat in the lobby to eat a quick snack. I was wrapped up in responding to emails, when I noticed someone in the lobby was yelling. I looked over to see a woman in her 50's (possibly?) sitting at a table with a young woman who looked to be no older than 22 or 23. The older woman was YELLING at this girl, whom I realized was a DQ employee, and saying some incredibly awful things. I gathered after listening for a while that the older woman was accusing the young woman of some sort of inappropriate relationship with her husband, yelling things like "I went through his phone", and repeatedly yelling "don't forget, I write your paychecks." She repeated this many times, and in my opinion was making a point to threaten to withhold the employees pay. At one point I clearly heard the older woman yell "you're disgusting" TO HER EMPLOYEE. Also, not that it would have excused the woman's assault on this girl, but the young woman seemed genuinely shocked and confused that she was being accused of some sort of affair with the older woman's husband. She was younger and very attractive, and the older woman seemed to be pathologicaly jealous that her husband was messaging with this girl about WORK and not including his wife in the texts. This was her whole basis for their supposed "affair." Texts about work. It was just so, so bizarre. I was so shocked at what I was witnessing I felt frozen in my seat. Fortunately another customer went to the counter and demanded the older woman "shut the eff up". He was obviously very upset at what he was hearing as well. After this man complained, another employee came out and said something to the older woman that I couldn't make out. Whatever is was, it finally ended the verbal assault against the young woman, who by this point was understandably crying hysterically.  I have worked in different industries throughout my life, and I have been both manager and subordinate. Never, ever, EVER have I witnessed such a vile and humiliating assault against an employee. After many years of patronage, the thought of stepping foot into another DQ makes me sick to my stomach. This woman sexually harassed, humiliated, threatened, yelled at, and insulted her employee in the LOBBY of the restaurant, fully aware that customers and other employees were able to see and hear the whole awful spectacle. I shudder to think what these employees are subjected to when no one is watching. I doubt I will ever spend another dime with your company. If these people are the kind of franchisees you want representing your brand, that is your choice. My choice is to spend my money elsewhere. And to the young woman who was victimized that day - get yourself a lawyer. read more
