    Oreo Blizzard Cake
    Ariane B.

How cute is this cake??! My sister called the Eagan Dairy Queen to order an Oreo Blizzard cake for my niece's birthday. All she requested was a cake with Cinnamoroll and look at how beautifully they decorated the cake! Even the writing is perfection. And the way it tasted matched the cuteness.

It was the first day of Spring. To be precise, it was a Monday. I was in Eagan, watching Fox 9 Good Day. I learned that all non-mall Dairy Queen locations were handing out free small vanilla cones to mark the occasion. Fact: I've never been to a Dairy Queen stateside. When I lived in Minnesota, my frozen treats were realized by either picking up ice cream at Hy-Vee or getting a milkshake from Culvers. My first DQ experience in the same state where DQ headquarters are located? As an adult? Cool and cool! I did a quick search and found this DQ in Eagan. Perfect! This visit kind of deviated from my original plan to pick up pizza for lunch, so I basically did a pizza stop, followed by a DQ visit here. I normally do the scenic route to get anywhere if I can. After picking up my pizza order, I took the highway to get here. It was nice. Traffic flowed nicely at 1 pm. This DQ is across from a Walgreens that I like to frequent now and again. It's next to the Hilton Garden Inn. North of this corner is my go-to Target. This DQ has a drive-thru. I headed over there on a gorgeous sunny day. All Mondays should be sunny. I had a woman on the other end of the speaker with an equally sunny disposition. She was cheerful and the nicest staffer at any DQ that I have ever visited. I ordered a free small vanilla cone. I looked at the menu and noticed a rainbow shake. I decided to get a small one without whipped cream. I thought it would be perfect as a dessert-ish item for lunch. I paid with a credit card. I handed it over at the window and all went well with the transaction. Service was swift. I got my small vanilla cone immediately, followed by a bunch of napkins. It was almost like she knew that I needed them. Shortly after that, my rainbow shake was ready. I thanked her and parked at the Hilton to have my cone. The cone hit the spot. Sometimes, going classic is the best. Simple. Yummy. The soft serve was delicious. It had the signature curlicue (the Q loop). The cone was crunchy. Yum! I drove back to the hotel to have lunch in my room. I put my rainbow shake in the fridge and ate some pizza for lunch first. I then had the shake for dessert. The shake was yummy. It had fruit flavours in it. It was cold and smooth. There were rainbow sprinkles on top that made this shake sweeter than I'd have liked. It was a pretty shake, though. I'm glad that I got a small. March 20, 2023. My first DQ visit stateside at this location. I can mark that off my bucket list! I loved my visit here. I'd come back again and get a banana split. I've never had one at DQ. At least I have menu goals! (93)

It's been a long time since I've had DQ and I ordered the new confetti dipped cone, the ice cream was a lot watery from what I remembered. My husband agreed as well and he ordered a Reese's peanut butter blizzard. The floors were a bit messy when we went in, I saw straw wrappers on the floor near the tables. The service was fine, one of the workers seemed frantic even though there wasn't too much of a line. Probably won't be craving DQ again anytime soon, especially at this location.

Very tasty burgers: juicy and warm (had a double patty) Fries were crispy and hot, I got onion rings for an extra dollar for exchange Soda fountain was outside for refills Staff was friendly and quick very hardworking and busting orders Seating area was very neat and clean Nice location and will def grab another meal before I leave town

Went to a dairy queen for a little dessert and got a chocolate malt with whipped cream. The workers were quick taking my order which was nice. But when i got it they messed it up, but were very nice about it and gave me my correct order. The order also only had like, a dot of whip cream on it?? But it was whatever. Pretty awkward place but it was good.

They did a marvelous job at designing this cake. Even though there were a few trouble finding the cake, it turned out great after it was found.

    Brownies cuperfection

The outside of this place looks unkempt but it's still pretty nice inside. The $5 lunch deals are a bang for your buck. The cuperfections esp the brownies one is out of this world! All the blizzards are really yummy but really cold; the peanut butter one is my favorite. Sometimes they have limited time blizzards after a movie or something and those are the best! Make sure you download the DQ app; there's too many deals on there especially on Monday which are too good to pass up. The cakes are worth it but be careful because they melt very quickly. The cakes in a cup are not worth it since it's basically made out of whipped cream. They're a little slow thru the drive thru. Definitely worth a visit and close to a bunch of hotels.

Great Dairy Queen, significantly less crowded than other DQs in the area, clean and airy. Best kept secret on a 90-degree day :)

We also tried the yum yum wings served w ranch. They were sweet with good flavor but the chicken itself was overcooked and dry, we couldn't finish them. Watermelon salad with grilled chicken was delicious as was the mad cow burger (3/4 lb!). The chicken sandwich on Texas toast was good but after eating half we realized it was still pink in the middle. Server (Amanda) was wonderful but overall we were disappointed that half of our food missed the mark. One last note - bartender was constantly adjusting her hair (she must have been hot), and then resumed making drinks (grabbing lime wedges etc, eek!). They should probably wear their hair back to keep their hands clean? Total bill came to $80ish.

I received an extremely greasy chili dog (the bottom of the bun was stained orange as if it was literally just sitting in grease, I had to tear the entire bottoms off. The chili was COMPLETELY flavorless with a non meat like chew, thats really as far as I can explain that one. It was like there, but tasted and disintegrated as if it wasn't. As well as, everything generally just came out as if it had been sitting around, it was cold and a bit stale. I also ordered a "THE FARMER" from their breakfast menu, and though this was better and a little fresher, the potatoes were still cold and mostly uneatable. So, inna nutshell I haven't tried everything, but this isn't the first time a meal I've had from there came out subpar. Price to quality food ratio id have to rate it like a 2-3, the hotdog was 8 dollars and "the farmer" was around 13-14. With that in mind, to have points where I am genuinely STRUGGLING through my meal is crazy. I would have to rate my overall experience between a 3 - 4 outta 10. If you don't mind a cool store and a gamble check it out !

The interior is modern and inviting, with some fun wallpaper making a statement. We cozied up to the bar during this visit. I will say that bar was a bit sloppy during our visit...bartenders' water bottles cluttering the visible space, bartenders spilling our drinks a bit during delivery, and weird transitions of staff that were a bit distracting. The Espresso Martini was the best item I ordered! Well balanced and the addition of the cold foam really made for an enjoyable sip. Would absolutely return for that one! The bites we ordered had great flavor, but some fell a bit flat when trying to live up to their creative ideas. The Fried Pickles were the best food item: perfectly crispy medallions with two delicious dipping sauces. The "burnt ends" cauliflower are really just roasted cauliflower with BBQ sauce on top, missing out on the umami juiciness of their namesake. The Chips that came with the Dip were just ruffled potato chips, not housemade or interesting. Solid spot for happy hour if you're looking in the area!

I ordered the Social salad. It was good but the presentation was trash. I also got a cup of the She - Crab soup. It was also just okay and certainly overpriced. Husband got the Pork Belly Burnt Ends at my suggestion. He asked if they had sauce added to them and if so, to get it on the side. Our server said they are prepared and the sauce caramelizes so no, no sauce. He asked due to being a type 1 diabetic and needed to calculate his insulin. Well, they came out covered in fresh sauce and were too dry to swallow. There were six chewed up bits of pork left on his plate when it was cleaned away. The Texas toast was the only redemption. Lastly the two others shared the half bird entree. Presentation was haphazard and the chicken was visually dry looking. They ate most of it and said the biscuit and sweet potatoes were good. The food alone wasn't bad enough to keep me away; but combining it with the service was. Our server Laura (sp?) didn't make her debut well after we've been sitting 10 minutes. We were there at 5:30 on Sunday. It wasn't busy at all. She was very nice. Her second stop was to take our orders. Food runner came and asked if we needed anything else. I asked for water as my glass was bone dry (I even ate my ice) and others' were 1/4-1/3 full. She said she couldn't bring beverages. It's water...not vodka. Weird. So Laura eventually comes back and filled our drinks and left the bill. She did overhear the birthday happenings and was nice enough to offer a free dessert. She got her cash payment and we never saw her again. Maybe it was the end of her shift? It just felt off. The table next to us had quite a few complaints and had a different server, so maybe there was just a bad vibe with the staff today? Hopefully management can figure it out. Bathrooms were nice and decor was nice throughout the restaurant.
