**This place may be under new management. We saw an management person chastise a young employee to "get to work". Good O', we say. It's about time. We've stopped at this DQ off an on for more than a decade. The majority of our visits reveal various conditions: slow service; lack of service (as in a closed lobby or lack of supplies) or ability to service via a drive thru window; rude employees; employees standing around and, high prices*. * This DQ follows the practice of other DQ's located just off of I-95: elevated prices. At the interior areas in States away from I-95, we have discovered significantly lower prices for identical items. If we're right about new management, we wish them well. Most of the time the people are not very hospitable.... sometimes even cold/rude. What's really bad, is last night, April 3,2018, they closed at 9:00pm even though a guest was in line ,already waiting, when there was a person in front of them that just ordered and their lights were still on. They even spoke something at the speaker, she couldn't understand it, she asked for a blizzard (a simple ice cream) and then the guy came back and said, sorry my manager said we couldn't. All she wanted was a simple blizzard. The open light was on, at least 5 cars were in the lot and you could see people inside, and again, the man in front of her who just ordered.... that is POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! It's just rude! Any business should show courtesy, since the lights were on and she was already in line before time. I just went to the drive-through. Again. They suck. They're rude. Great Job by Dana - we have a common friend in Yelp with that name - similar i guess- i did not ask her directly - but she was extremely busy in training and she states, he is very quick and sharps- she supports all her employees- must be genuine, honest, straightforward, which is in today's; world tough to find- they give reasons- these two or three people on that while i went were totally honest, good, smiling, ethical and good - they can understand in one go not like Mobil Gas station neighbor it takes time possibly from India or Spain - just kidding not sure or south america - or so..anyhow these people should be appreciated- yet to post in their places like they had put tell us or share your experiences- yet to do that- will do - nice and God bless them and their families- Happy Church day.. We stopped here (Darien,GA) after not finding a rest area on I-95 North. Very clean even if it is an older restaurant. Looks freshly painted inside. Bathroom was clean. They had the shrimp basket which is my husband's favorite! It came with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, coleslaw and hot, fresh fries. I had a hot dog combo with hot, fresh fries. We both enjoyed our Blizzards which were a lot larger than we get at home. I am going back home and tell my local DQ they need to up their game!!!! We will definitely stop here again. read more

Rough experience. 4/5 of the people working were really young kids. Yelling "da**it" and "f**k" loudly because they were messing up the cones constantly. Just not something I want my kids hearing from the ice cream shop. Thankfully we were on a road trip and won't need to come back here. Some kids just aren't mature enough for a job.. read more

I like Dairy Queen's burgers because they you can taste the 'char' - but this location gets two stars for a couple of reasons: 1) Cleanliness. Not sure about the health score / rating - but once I came here and a cleaning rag had been left on the drive-thru menu board. I came back the next day - and it was still there. The one time I ventured inside - the bathrooms were horrific. And finally - several times I've been here and the there are HUGE spider webs with a massive black spider above and to the right of the window. It's anxiety inducing - sticking your arm out of the car window to get your food. 2 & 3) Inconsistencies and short-tempered staff. I drive up and discover that this location no longer posts the $5 and $6 lunch specials. I know they had them posted the last time I visited (about 2 months ago) - and I'm fearful I'm overlooking it, so I politely ask if they still offer them and the cashier says Yes. So I said, ok - well I can't quite remember the name - but I think the sandwich I want is the 1/3 double. So the employee says, "Oh we don't offer that as part of the 6 buck lunch anymore. The only 5 and 6 buck lunch specials we offer are the 3 chicken strips and the deluxe burger. So I said, "I'm sorry - I don't see the Deluxe burger listed here." During this exchange - the manager has come over (you can see the pick-up window from the drive-thru marquis - and she (the manager) now snaps at me, "It's NOT listed on the menu." Um. ok. So I ask, "Well what comes on it . . . can you describe it?" And she says, quite testily, "It comes with ketchup, mustard, mayo, pickles. Oh and cheese." When I reply and ask her if it's two patties or a single - she tells me that it's one patty. When I ask her if it's 1/3 or 1/4 lb burger. She says she doesn't know. I drive off. Note: I'm not sure how a single patty, condiments and cheese constitute a 'DELUXE' anything. And I know these are franchises - but I didn't know you could go in and modify your 5 buck / 6 buck offerings. Also - when the manager was busy fussing at me - she didn't ever even bother to tell me if the price was 5 bucks or 6 bucks. Oh well! read more

Was coming through here and our bus broke down so we parked by the Dairy Queen. The lobby was closed but the open sign was on. Obviously I didn't have a car since I drove on a bus for school so I wanted to ask a worker is I could just come inside and order and I saw several workers in the lobby through the windows. The door was locked so I knocked and a worker who saw me just kept sweeping the lobby and made direct eye contact with me and ignored me, then a woman worker came over and did the same. This is the second time I've been to this location and both experiences were not enjoyable. At least the 1st time I was able to leave with a blizzard. This time we waited in line for 20 minutes to get to the window. Tried to order a dreamsicle dipped cone, they stated they were out. Okay cool no worries. So we ordered 2 blizzards. Once we got to the window we paid waited for our blizzards. 5 minutes later they come back to say they're out of the cotton candy. When I asked for a refund the girl was extremely rude about it saying "yeah sure!" while rolling her eyes and slammed the window, that took another 5 minutes. read more

Privately owned Dairy Queen with jacked up prices. $5 for a SMALL blizzard. Other Dairy Queen's are much cheaper. This owner needs to lower his prices. And when I asked about why the prices were so high, the manager rolled her eyes and stomped off. read more

Very unpleasant experience. Cashier order taker rushed us to complete order. Seemed annoyed we didn't know what we wanted. Cheese not properly melted in cheese fries. 2 of my 4 chicken tenders not sauces with honey BBQ glaze. Popcorn shrimp was ehhhh. Chili cheese dog was ehhhh. All for $27.29. Dining room was run down. The top of the booth seat was disconnected and moved easy. DQ...stick to ice cream. The "Grill" part of Grill & Chill left waaaaay too much to be desired. read more

Stopped for a blizzard and they were out of oreos. Ordered a chocolate chip cookie dough one and got ice cream with a couple cookie dough bites. Burger didn't taste right, hopefully I won't get sick. Dairy Queen's are a dime a dozen. But this one had a very friendly drive-through Server. I really appreciate that. Their chocolate extreme blizzard was a bit watery and tasteless. They also had a swarm of bugs right by the ordering station. A million nats flew in when I rolled down my the window to order. I thought I'd have to pay extra for the additional protein. Want flies as a topping-- no extra charge! Won't go back..... read more

This Dairy Queen was not only EXTREMELY dirty and under-run, the woman at the front was so rude. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom and NO ONE was wearing gloves or masks. Absolutely disgusting. If you have the choice, keep driving. read more

My son and I were passing through on the way home from Florida when we decided that we needed a sweet treat. I had ordered my son a Misty slush and paid for it. I was watching them make the drink through the window and the machine was stuck and it wouldn't pour. The worker thought it was a good idea to jam her thumb into the machine's spigot and continued to thrust her thumb in and out of the spigot in an effort to make the machine work. She finally got the machine to work but by now, I'm grossed out as I watched her fling her hand to shake off the excess drink and the liquid was flying everywhere and running down her arm. She filled the cup and used her other fingers to wipe the rim of the cup before putting the lid on. She was not wearing any gloves and I had no idea if she had washed her hands prior to this process. She gave me the cup and I politely declined and asked for my money back because I didn't feel that it was sanitary. She got so upset with my request for my money back that she took the cup and threw it across the restaurant (hopefully into a trash can), but her rude gestures were unwarranted. The staff at this DQ deserve a big thanks and a bonus! As we join the thousand others in fleeing Hurricane Irma, the McDonalds next door decided to close up shop. This DQ is open and very, very busy. The crew members are working really hard, AND remaining friendly and courteous! I wish I had asked the names of the woman at the register and the lady packing the bags they were both exceptional! I come there often. Today I went and picked up food for my office. Usually it's good but today it wasn't. My fries were old and so was my chicken. My burger was sloppy and squished. The meat was also old. Not very fond of the new cook. read more

Terrible experience. terrible customer service. went there last night on my way to florida around 7:30pm & the girl in the drive thru was awful. she was rushing me off the speaker, wouldn't give me time to figure out what i wanted, just assumed that i was only ordering one meal & told me my total & to pull up before i was even done ordering, when asked to read my order back she ignored me then got back on the intercom with a tone "did you need something else" got my order & it was wrong. you have one main job in the drive thru & kitchen & it's to listen. my burgers were wrong, had everything on there that I asked to take off. what if i asked them to be taken off because of a severe allergy?! & my onion rings were hard as ROCK. on top of all this, the inside was dead! with only maybe 4-5 cars in the drive thru! unacceptable & I will never go back! if you don't like your job, don't work there!! read more

Ice cream same as all DQ's. Staff was friendly, service was quick. My only issue was the cleanliness of the dining room. It's 445pm and I found 1 table cleanish. The floors could be swept and mopped. Trash laying under tables still. Dirtiest DQ I have been in. Disappointed. read more

yes I do like the food ..but when I went to eat with a friend and we had 2 coupons for the chicken finger dinner ..we had a coupon each giving us 2.00 off a 6 peice dinner with bread fies and drinks,,well because my friend wanted to pay for it we were not allowed to use my coupon and we had to pay for our drinks ,,,bill coming to almost 20.00...I felt this was wrong ..we had a coupon apeice no matter who paid the bill..very disppointed when I could go BLOCK AND GET 2 FULL MEALS AT BURGER KING FOR 8.99..'just sayin'' not right!!! lcdarien@darientel.net read more
