The food wasn't out of this world, but the customer service more than compensated for that. In today's world, where companies are desperate to cut costs and now charge for almost everything, it was refreshing to encounter the opposite. The employees went out of their way to serve us by providing extra condiments, even though management had told them not to. This small gesture of genuine human kindness truly made our day. This was our lunch stop on a family road trip, and we had a very good experience. Ms. Rebecca was so friendly, patient, and kind to our kids and us. She went out of her way to bring the food to our table when my hands were full with kids, and then check in with us later, assuring us that we didn't need to exhaustively clean up the taco mess left by our kiddos. I only docked one star because the women's bathrooms are a bit wonky. Under no circumstances should you use the hand fan while the sink faucet is on. The fan is above the faucet and will funnel all of the water in the sink onto your face and body. Yikes! I do NOT recommend this Dairy Queen. We were traveling from Galveston to Dallas and stopped here for a quick bite to eat. The experience went down hill from the very beginning. First, the cashier who took the order entered it wrong, and it ended up costing me more money later. Then, she gave us drinks cups that were bent on top which kept the lids from being secure on the cup. This later caused a spill. When addressing this with the cashier and manager, they were rude and uncaring. When I asked for napkins for the spill, they gave me 4 small squares to clean it up. Therefore, I left the spill all over the floor. They also charged me for their mistake I have never left from a restaurant so flustered because of bad service. Slowest fast food restaurant EVER!! We paid and sat waiting for about 15 minutes before they came out and told us they ran out of French fries and asked if we wanted tater tots instead. We agreed then waited another 15 minutes and saw employees bringing in groceries from their car, bags of French fries. This place is not fast food! Do not come here if you are in a hurry!! It took forever to get two kids meals and two adult meals. A couple of our meals actually had French fries, some didn't. None of them were hot. I am a frequent visitor at this Dairy Queen; I usually come around once a week. Today, which is Valentine's Day, I went in with my best friend and my little brother. Me and my best friend always go there together. When I walked in, I saw right outside of the restaurant, one of our usual workers all up on her boyfriend for everyone to see. Keep in mind my friend, brother and came in laughing before we had even see this. So I see her outside and I don't really think anything of it. We order small dip cones and sit down. The girl that was outside had come back in at this point and she was making our cones. They looked about halfway smaller than normal. She hands them to me and says, " Next time y'all wanna laugh at me, don't make it so obvious." and then she goes on to say that this isn't the first time either. I was shocked because first of all that is very rude and second of all she has no idea what were laughing at it could have been anything. In all the times we had been there we have never done anything to make someone think our laughing was targeted at them. Once we finished we walked out at she had the audacity to say have a nice night. We said you too and after we walked out my brother was the last one out and he said that they turned around and started laughing. Usually I have no problem here, but this really made my blood boil. I felt uncomfortable in a place where I am supposed to be having a good time with my friends. I don't even want to return there after that interaction, because I know she will be there. Great DQ in the small town style - old building, plenty of toppings in your blizzard and a willingness to make a blizzard that hasn't been on the menu in nearly 20 years. It also surprised us with the best bathrooms we've ever seen in a DQ. Clean, updated, fully stocked - terrific. The only quibble I have is that the cashier didn't understand how to take my .54 cents for a .39 total so I could end up with a dime and a nickel instead of a dime and another annoying penny. Driving down from Collin County to Nasa Road One will pretty much suck my gas tank dry. So that I didn't have to worry about finding a place to stop, in the rain once I hit Harris County... I decided to stop in Buffalo, Texas. What is in Buffalo, Texas? A Valero and a Dairy Queen. That's about it. I first visited the Valero and filled up my tank with gas. As painful as that sounds, it was still cheaper than what I had paid in Dallas just two days earlier. Then I decided to go to Dairy Queen. I pulled up in the drive thru line and sat. And sat. And sat. I finally decided that since the first car hadn't moved in 10 minutes that it would probably be faster to go inside. It was when I got inside that I realized why the cars weren't moving. They had a manager barking orders but doing nothing but eating a blizzard hidden next to the cash register. They had one guy in the kitchen trying to make all the orders. One girl stocking napkins (like taking care of customers isn't more important) and one other girl who was attempting to manage both the drive thru window & the counter. I placed my order... Hunger Buster Jr Combo with CHEESE. No mustard, no ketchup, no lettuce. The girl repeats back to me... no mayo, no tomato, no pickle? UM... seriously? Some how I knew my order would be wrong. I also, attempted to order a Girl Scout Thin Mint Blizzard... but they were "out" of thin mints. Hmmm... surprising? Not really... since I could tell that is what the manager was sitting back over in the corner eating. Yep. My burger was wrong. Luckily it was only missing the cheese. But I still took it back to them and told them to fix it. I think maybe next time, I'll fill up and get food in Fairfield instead. read more

I've never eaten at DQ's before and after eating at this joint I feel I should've kept it that way. I was on my was to Houston and happened to get caught in a storm so took this exit and stopped for a snack. I got the chicken fried fingers and my girlfriend got the spicy chicken burger with fries and a drink. The fries that came along with our meal were pathetic to say the least. They were soggy and had an odd taste to them. The fingers too seemed stale I was only able to eat a couple. My girlfriend was hungry so she managed to finish her burger but at the end said this was one of the worst burgers she has ever eaten. I'm sure they could do better. The staff here was friendly. More perplexed about the flooding of their restaurant than anything else. I guess it was wrong timing. But whatever, I'm never going to eat at dairy queen again for a long long time. read more

We went on a road trip to help our friends move. Logistics were a bit fuzzy and I offered to help out if they needed me to drive the U-haul. So guess what I did? I drove the U-haul! The parking lot has quite a few cars in it, more than I would expect but it's right next to Subway so I say, I'm feeling like a Blizzard(tm) so I decide to park there and get food at DQ. We walk in and find out that they're giving away FREE Mini Blizzards(tm). No purchase necessary. What divine provision! So I wait in line, order my Crispy Chicken Sandwich Combo and we order our two Mini Blizzards(tm) - Heath bar for me, Oreo for The Wife. "Do you want your Blizzards(tm) now?" Me: "Actually.. I guess after I eat." "Okay, just come back with your receipt when you're ready." I sit down and wait for my food and the wife comes over with her Subway and we chow down. There are kids running around with the face painting they're offering and people stuffing their faces with free Mini-Blizzards(tm). I finish my meal and go place my order for our dessert. Service is a little slow but it's definitely understandable with the place packed. The Blizzards(tm) are perfect, not just because they're free, but because I really wanted a Blizzard(tm) already. Free was just sugar on top. We came back the next day on our trip home and the Grand Re-opening was over. As a frequent traveler between Houston and Dallas, I've stopped by this location several times. Every single time, the service is slow and atrocious. The last time I was here was several months ago. I had an extremely simple order of two items. The order was to go, and I informed the person taking my order that I was in a huge hurry. Ten minutes later, I still didn't have my food. The restaurant was not crowded, and there were multiple employees standing behind the counter just talking and looking bored. I ended up having to leave without one of my items, and when I opened my bag, I found the one item I did receive was wrong. Unfortunately, I made the poor decision to come back. This time when I walked in, the employee gave me a vacant stare while I placed my order, and I had to repeat it three times. (This was also an extremely simple, two-item order, and the restaurant was not busy. I also let her know I was in a hurry.) Seven minutes later, I'd received nothing and was worried I'd have to leave without my food again. I flagged down the manager and he made one of my items after I had to repeat the order for the fourth time, and found they hadn't even started it. BRAIN DEAD!!! Ordered at the drive up speaker, paid at the drive up window, was told to pull around back and wait in line and they would bring it out to us. There were already two trucks and no place to wait without blocking the drive so I pulled over to allow room for vehicles to pass within 10' of the door. The other two trucks got their food and left, another truck pulls up, waits, gets their food and leaves. We had waited a LONG time. I'm thinking; what's happening here and start to open the door to go inside when a guy walks up and asks us if we're waiting on a drive up order to which I reply, yes. He turns around, goes inside and returns with our COLD burgers and tots. No sorry about your wait, kma, nothing. I went to the Dairy Queen web page to complain and it doesn't work. Dairy Queen Buffalo, Texas has piss poor service! Update: The manager at this Buffalo, Texas Dairy called me and apologized profusely and told me that there would be a customer service coaching session with the applicable employee She also asked me what we had ordered and had a gift card for that amount ($20) sent to us from the corporate office that is redeemable at any Texas Dairy Queen. Worst fast food experience EVER! Another customer picked up my tray and started eating my food and then realized it wasn't theirs. The lady at the front turned around and handed it straight to me.
