    Fattoush Salad
    Winston L.

In the land of 1.5 star airport food, I thought I hit the jackpot since my gate was right next to Daily. Sat down, wasn't quite sure what to do, and one of the staff members let me know to check the QR code for the menu and to order online. I ordered a fattoush salad to go. $19.99 with 15% tip. Terribly unAmerican to have to tip before getting food, but oh well. Staff seems plenty cheerful and friendly, but due to the ordering system, they don't actually interact with customers much. Took about 30 minutes to get my salad. Not exactly sure what happened there but I wasn't in danger of missing my flight. The food itself? It was fine. Fresh greens, tomatoes, balsamic and some spices. Tiny sprinkling of some pita and crunchy flatbread (?). Not a great value, but that's not surprising for the airport. If I come back, I would choose a protein. Those Yelp pictures look a lot better.

I stopped in while waiting for my Montreal-bound flight to board. The drinks were totally satisfying. Sure, they were overpriced - what food item at EWR isn't - but they were flavorful and balanced, and totally above average. The guy behind the bar knows what he's doing. The ambiance on a Friday night, aided by chill music pumped through ceiling speakers, was relaxing, at least to my taste. I'd come here again for sure.

So I'm sitting in the United Club in Terminal C at EWR and bump into a friend. He tells me he just had perhaps the best burger ever. So my wife and I had to give it a try. Dare I say he was right! I'm talking about the Cheddar burger. You can pick your temperature and we went medium rare. It comes with lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onions, cheddar (obviously) and an aioli. You can remove items if you like but we went with "All the Way". This was a really good burger. It comes with fries that were crisped on the outside but with some "meat" as well. So, not your thin cut McDonald fries but crispy and good. Just a thicker cut. Beer was cold with 4 IPA options along with wine and a full bar. The service was prompt, friendly and engaging. Shout out to both, Super Star Manager Paul and Fantastic Chef Keith. When you are next in EWR with 30 minutes near Terminal C, Gate 74, give them a try.

Baked clams were plentiful and hit the mark

EWR Terminal C is stepping up their food game. This little diddy was surprisingly delectable. Grilled artichoke appetizer and the baked clams were not only tasty but a great healthy option at the airport. This was an exciting find. Great service too! Try this place out if you are anywhere in Terminal C / United. It's worth the walk if your gate is not right here. Across from Gate 78/79. Two thumbs up!

Nice airport restaurant at EWR in terminal 3 just down the concourse from the United Club. A bit pricey but the Quality of the food is very good for an airport. Started with a Stella Artois, then had the Salmon entree, finishing up with a cappuccino. Overall a 4 star experience.

Excellent dining, at Newark Airport, Terminal C...Freshly prepared breakfast!! They have ergonomically seating and we chose to sit at the bar, which gives you access to open kitchen preparations by their talented chefs. There are numerous tv screens above for you to keep up with latest happenings in sports, news, etc. There are individual iPads at each place setting to order your meal. A very attentive waitstaff member brings your beverages. Did I mention they have a full bar service too? For those who may require sustenance of a different kind ( pre- flight jitters), Anyhow...loved this great find at EWR!! Travel can be hectic, this stop made it relaxing!! And yummy!

Crispy Brussel sprouts - earned my 1 star

I had an unexpectedly long layover and decided to explore the culinary scene/wasteland of Newark airport. I opened Yelp without much hope but saw a 3.5-star restaurant about 30 gates away from me. This rating is about 5 standard deviations higher than your usual airport establishments. Intrigued, especially by a previous yelper's comment about the "best burger ever!", I decided to make the trek to the promised land of good burgers. The place was well staffed, but fairly empty. Maybe other travellers were not as savvy as I was? I ordered THE burger and an entry of crispy brussel sprouts. The food came quickly, which was a good sign. My first few bites of the brussel sprouts were quite satisfying, with the sprouts crispy and flavorful. I then turned my attention to the burger. The patty looked a little overcooked and quite small for the size of the bun (and a price of $20). I had seen much more inviting burgers from fast food places. Eyeing the burger with rising suspicion, I decided to try the fries first. The very first fry was spectacular. But the fries after were a limp and sad affair. An entrenched optimist ("let's not judge a book by its cover or a burger by its look"), I assembled the burger and took my first bite. Oh well, out of a score of 10, with 10 being the best burgur ever and 1 being getting food poisoned, I would give the burger a score of 2. It was dry and overcooked. The overall texture suggested a patty that had been trapped in a freezer for too long and had developed whole-body freezer burn. There was no flavor to the burger. The culinary master who produced that "best burger ever" had long left the house/airport. (Maybe they were simply stranded here by the many delays and cancellations at Newark.) The waiting staff was disinterested in their job even by airport standard. They only brought me water after I requested for it. They only gave me a refill after I asked for it. The only positive emotion was directed at chatting with their colleagues. I could have done better in the 1.5/2-star establishments more closer by, without spending nearly as much ($38 with tip). You could too.

    Mark A.

Finding somewhere good to eat in the Newark Airport is nearly impossible. I had one of the worst meals of my life in EWR and I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning at this airport once. Until Daily opened, it was either bring something from home, eat snacks from CIBO, or load up at the (sometimes questionable) salad bar. Daily isn't the best airport restaurant in the world, but it IS the best restaurant in EWR - hands down. When I'm traveling for work, all I want in an airport restaurant is something (at least somewhat) fresh and healthy. Daily changes their menu...ummm...daily, and the food feels fresher than the average airport stall. Daily has a variety of healthier options on the menu (salads, salmon), which is helpful in a sea of fast food. It isn't perfect, and it is a bit pricey, but it is the only real option in EWR.

Girls' night rule #1: pick a place with a vibe. Girls' night…read morerule #2: the food better back it up. Burke's Tavern understood the assignment. None of us had been before, so we walked in blind, except not really, because the second we stepped inside the vibe hit us. Dimmed lights (but not "can't read the menu" dim), candles glowing, plants everywhere, music just loud enough to feel cool but not loud enough to ruin the gossip. Cozy. Chill. Cute. The holy trinity. It wasn't packed, so we had seating options and landed at a round table in the middle: elite positioning, honestly. Door and front windows on one side, bar view on the other. Prime people-watching real estate. Now let's discuss the important part: the food. We ordered strategically (read: everything we wanted). Lamb meatballs - 10/10. Holy crap. I don't know who is back there doing what, but please continue. Burrata pizza - absolutely delicious. Gone in record time. Gochu-Crispy-Chikin - no notes. Million Dollar Chicken - appropriately named. Fish 'N' Chips - zero complaints across the table. And that's the thing: not a single person in the group had an issue. No side-eye. No "it's good, but..." Just clean plates and happy energy. Now. Parking? Disrespectful. It's on a corner (love that), but finding parking took effort (do not love that). Would I let that stop me? Absolutely not. Parking be damned. I will circle. I will walk. I will manifest a spot. Because this place is such a vibe that it's already secured a return visit -- brunch is calling, and I need to see what this place feels like when the weather warms up. The atmosphere and restaurant look great. It has a good vibe and the service was great. Let me tell you about the burger, not the best, they give you a slider size patty, overcooked and served on a bun that comes apart when you grab it. I'm not sure about the rest of the menu, but not a burger place. Now the chocolate cake with the raspberry ice cream--wow! This was the best part of the meal. I'm giving this place 4 stars even though I didn't like the burger because that's all I tried. I'll come back and revise this rating up/down if I come back and try other menu items. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
