Tuna sandwich without tomato
Josephine O.

Absolutely delicious tuna sandwich and amazing assortment of donuts. The juices are great and fresh too!

A very hard and stale chocolate old fashioned. $1.10.

A very stale 3 stars. One of my donuts, a chocolate twist was pretty good. Nothing extraordinary but good for the $1.10 price which is 40 cents less than most places are charging for a donut these days. The other donut I had was the chocolate old fashioned. Old fashioned was the perfect thing to call it because it must have been sitting there for a day or two. It was a hard and dry donut. Dunking in in coffee couldn't even bring any softness back to it. I've had biscotti that were softer. I don't like to write negative reviews during COVID because any place open is barely hanging in there. Still, donuts are a treat, and people work hard for their money. You should provide a decent donut. Mark the stale donuts half price, or better yet, don't sell stale donuts at all. People will come back for fresh donuts, but not for stale donuts. The person who helped me was friendly. They also sell drinks and sandwiches. Parking is easy.

Butterfly crumble doughnut $2.25 - worth it.

couldn't really understand the man's heavy accent but this place was open during my doughnut craving on my drive home at 9:15pm. we got: 1. 12 doughnut holes ($1.25) - good, basic 2. a butterfly crunch thing ($1.25) - tasted like cinnamon buns without the icing :) this was huge and pulled apart into 4 little rolls, see pic 3. 1 glazed old fashion doughnut ($0.75) - not too sweet, great texture, made me happy they have all the basic doughnuts, nothing super fancy, doughnuts were tasty and surprisingly not stale at all this late at night

#28 with veggies for extra $1

thai tea smoothie hits the spots tho. and open late night.. It's really a guilty pleasure at night time.

Thus causing me NOT to be a huge fan of sandwich like these unless it's a Bahn Mi lol Today I doordashed from them and WOW what a FLAVORFUL DELICIOUS sandwich. I got the Ekeler w/ everything but tomato and chicken strips. Both WERE SO DELICIOUS! I really liked their chicken strips too I can see why they would go great with sandwiches. Their DIRTY SAUCE is crack... it's their version of garlic aoli and it's amazing! Wish I had photos I big backed everything lol next time! From the moment I walked in, I was polite and friendly, yet the employee helping us seemed irritated by literally every interaction we had with her. I initially asked nicely about using my inKind credit, and she immediately responded, "We're gonna have to do it with the register," in such an unnecessarily rude and annoyed tone that it genuinely caught me off guard. I hadn't complained, demanded anything, or given her any reason to speak to me that way. I was simply asking a question. My boyfriend gave her his order, and the attitude continued. When it was my turn, she didn't greet me or even ask what I'd like. She just stared at me. I didn't realize at first that she was waiting for my order until she finally said, "What do you want?" Again, the tone was incredibly unfriendly and made it seem like we were inconveniencing her just by being there. What really sealed it for me was the restroom situation. I walked over to the restroom and realized I needed a key. When I came back toward the counter, she was on a personal phone call while working. I politely started with "Excuse me" and began asking if I could get the restroom key. Before I could even finish my sentence, she interrupted me mid-call and abruptly said, "I left you the key at the front," again with the same irritated attitude. At that point, I honestly couldn't understand what I had done to warrant being spoken to like that. I had been nothing but kind to her from the second I walked in. I even kept being polite after the first rude interaction because I thought maybe she was just having a moment and her demeanor would change. It didn't. Every single interaction felt like I was bothering her. I understand people have bad days, and I normally give service workers a LOT of grace, which is exactly why I didn't want to leave a review. But being openly rude to customers throughout an entire visit while also having a personal phone conversation on the clock is incredibly unprofessional. The employee had stretched ear plugs, in case management needs help identifying who was working. I came in excited to grab sandwiches with my boyfriend, asked a completely normal question about my inKind credit, and somehow left feeling like I had been an inconvenience simply for being a customer. Really disappointing experience.

I got the #1 bestseller and it did NOT disappoint. I can see why someone wouldn't like it because it is rather plain but I prefer plain sandwiches myself. I like the ingredients to speak for themselves and not be coated in extra sugar or salt. I'm also a big fan of pistachio, the amount they put on is not for the faint of heart... hehe This place is clean, the line is efficient and friendly. I recommend stopping by. I came here as recommendation from Joshua Weissman's YT video of trying LA foods.

This location on Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown is the smallest of the three I've visited, with under 10 seats available. It's a compact shop, and most customers opt for takeout. It's a narrow shop, and most customers take their orders to-go. I've previously enjoyed the La Paradiso and La Toscana, with the La Paradiso being my personal favorite. For our first visit with our son, we asked the staff for recommendations, and they suggested either the Venice Beach (Turkey) or the New Yorker (Roast Beef). The staff was incredibly generous, offering a roast beef sample, which our son loved! We also appreciated them providing ice and straws for our water. We ordered the New Yorker ($19.00) with roast beef, porcini cream, tomato, and arugula. The sandwich was thoughtfully cut in half, perfect for sharing. The schiacciata bread boasts a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy interior, which beautifully complements the meats and cheeses. We opted to substitute the porcini cream for mozzarella, which was sliced into perfect bite-sized pieces and tasted incredibly fresh. The roast beef was thinly sliced and tender, the tomatoes were fresh and sliced to perfection, and the arugula added a delightful peppery crunch. It's a well-balanced sandwich and one of the best in LA. We would definitely order it again. A big thank you to the female staff member who expertly cut the meat and offered samples, assisting us in making the perfect choice for my son's sandwich. This experience was truly a positive one for our family. I would definitely return to AAV for the excellent food and service. Given the small size of the shop, takeout is recommended, especially during peak hours. The sandwiches at AAV are so good! Fuggedaboutit!

What I noticed about these sandwhiches were how clean and light they tasted. Some bánh mì places can be pretty heavy handed with the mayo and pâté, but this felt much more balanced and refined while still being flavorful. Visually, the sandwiches do look a little on the thinner side compared to other bánh mì I've had especially if you're from the SGV area, but once I ate it, I actually thought the portion was just right and the amount of meat ratio was well balanced. I also noticed a couple of groups coming in from the F45 nearby, which honestly made sense. If you're craving a bánh mì but want something that feels a little lighter and less heavy, this is a really nice in between. The bread was also really good, which can honestly make or break a bánh mì for me. It had the perfect texture not too hard or overly crunchy, but still had a nice chewy bite. The person taking our order was also extremely nice and welcoming. There's also seating around the public area incase the table inside is full. They also validate parking. Overall a nice neighborhood sandwhich / viet shop and I hope they continue to grow and do well.

My wife and I stopped here a few weekends back for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed the food. The ambiance here is pretty generic, white and bright and very copy and paste of a lot of places popping up recently. The staff was super friendly while taking our orders and dropping the food off, which is always appreciated. I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience at Sandcouch Cafe and I would visit again in the future thanks to it's convenient location. The food was solid and the staff was friendly, and that's really all I need when ordering a sandwich.
