Went with a large party (about 10 of us) for lunch on a weekday. The food was pretty good - Most of us had the stone pot bibimbap. Prices were average for a sit-down lunch in Natick. The place is clean and bright inside. I would have given more stars had the service been better. We waited at least 10 minutes for glasses of water to arrive. There seemed to be only one server for the entire restaurant during most of our stay, and she acted as if she was pissed off at the world. Sure, it must suck to have to take care of so many tables... but it also sucks to go out for lunch only to have Oscar the Grouch yell at you as she brings out your meal: "Fried rice! I've only had the Korean food here so that is what I am reviewing. Generally you can judge a Korean restaurant by how many Koreans are there dining. There were a handful of Koreans there eating when I went for lunch so I thought it would be a good experience. I had the yukke jang and my friend had bi bim bap. Both were very good. Ordered typical and comparable Thai food which was poor to lame at best. Bland flavorless curry with limp green beans. Poor pad Thai with basil. Satay was rubbery and obviously pre made and not fully cooked. Food was served on six inch appetizer size plates. Beer served in a small juice glass. My wife and I just came from here and will NEVER go back!! We live in Natick and have eaten here before and were shocked at how downhill this place has gone. The waitress came over to our table and could not have been more rude or disinterested. We ordered three dishes. Two minutes later, another woman brought one dish over and dropped it on the table. We had no plates or silverware and had to wait for her to finally bring them to us. Do these people not know that they are in the hospitality business?! Another dish showed up ten minutes later and one never arrived!!!!! Our waitress disappeared and we had to tell another waitress that we did not receive it. By the time they brought it to us, we were done with our food, so we no longer even wanted it. As for the food, we had a rice dish and a noodle dish. Both were greasy, lukewarm and barely mediocre. The vegetables were not fresh and the rice tasted like it was reheated. I had to go to the hostess station to pay our bill because our waitress never came back to our table. I had them take the dish that never came to us off our bill and for the first time in my life did not leave a tip. I always leave 20%+ and left no tip because nobody there did anything that warranted a tip. I asked the woman at the counter if she was the owner and she said "yes". I asked her if she cared if we had such a terrible experience and she said "no". That is ALL that you need to know about this place. They seem to have a busy take out business, but their dark and dingy dining room is a disgrace. Natick deserves better than this place. This is not a Korean restaurant. It's an Asian restaurant that has a Korean section on the menu. We ordered ok dol bi bim bop and pork bulgoki. They don't serve banchan - the kimchee, pickled radish, sprouts, etc starters - you can order it but you pay for it. The bi bim bop was fine but the bulgoki was literally hunks of fat. My daughter ordered chicken fried rice (it was 9 pm) and we were told they were out of fried rice. How does an Asian restaurant run out of rice? Well, it didn't. They just didn't want to cook a fresh batch because they wanted to close. There's no Korean BBQ. I didn't think the servers were bad, but they were not great or overly helpful. Don't travel here for Korean food. Go to Brighton or Allston. read more

The worst part is the experience: decor, service. The food and prices are decent. Also it does not help that this is located in downtown Natick, which is a nice area during the day but not too lively at night. Back to the service, they brought us water after 10 minutes at the table. At that point drinks were ordered but we got them 15 minutes later after complaining to the waitress. Dah it to me! Hard to not feel at home in Dah mee. The service is wonderfully casual and prompt. I feel like I was visiting my southern grandmother's kitchen more than a restaurant. My bi bim bap (hot stone dish - lots of veggies, rice, an over easy egg and yummy red spicy sauce) was fantastic and stupid healthy. Great reminder that eating healthy doesn't have to leave you craving junk food. Loved the guidance from Mrs. Le (the owner I presume) "You've got to mix it all up girl, tastes more better." I'd leave the spring rolls out of the order next time, but keep the Hawaiian salad which tasted like a deconstructed spicy tuna roll but with mixed greens and the soy sauce already mixed in for you. Hell ya. Don't know why I didn't frequent Dah Mee when I was a Wellesley woman, but when I do make it back to Natick it will be my new hot spot for take out. read more

I ordered chicken and shrimp pad thai and shrimp tom yum soup from here the day that I found out it is right down the street from my office. The location is very convenient, right in Natick center, by the commuter rail stop. The food: amazing! The pad thai was excellent. It has been my experience that even the best pad thai around here doesn't really compare to what you find in NYC (best pad thai ever), but this place is definitely comparable. I am sort of what you would call a Pad Thai connoussieur. I have had pad thai just about everywhere I have been, and this is the best Natick-area pad thai, BY FAR. Also, the tom yum soup was DELICIOUS. Very flavorful. I don't like when people complain about there only being two shrimp...they're huge! I would personally rather have two huge shrimp than a bunch of little ones. The portions appear small, but I actually had leftovers of the pad thai for work the next day. That was awesome. And very affordable...I got the pad thai and soup for about $11. I think that is a bargain, considering that I have paid $18 for just pad thai before (needless to say it was the best pad thai ever). Anyway, this place is great! Ignore the negative reviews. I recommend it to anyone who likes thai food. Listen guys, we're not in Bangkok. By the name you would expect a vast variety of PacRim cuisine thrown together kind of willy nilly. Perhaps, if you took the overall menu, you could get that impression, but I took a different tact. The lovely ladies I were with inquired as to which nationality the actual chef is from. It's thailand. So, I stick to the thai part of the menu. The golden bags are great. The pad thai is very tasty, even at the absurdly spicy levels I order it at. The people I've eaten here with (both of them) enjoyed their meals. The warm sake is passable. I don't eat sushi, but I'm told it's also passable. Overall, a solid asian offering in my new 'hood that I'll be happy to frequent again and again. Oh. One other thing. The waitresses here are adorable. Like, put them in your pocket and take them home adorable. I order almost all my thai food "10 star spicy" and the reactions I get when I do usually run the gamut from cool indifference to true concern for my well being. Do one thing, do it well: in this case, stone bowl bi bim bop. Vegetarian's good, beef is better. One of the finest dishes in the area --- tender rice turning crispy as you eat, tangy (not really hot) sauce served on the side, barely set egg draped over the fresh veggies. Beef's thin-sliced and savory. The rest of the menu always fails to hold my attention --- sushi is fine but not up to Shanghai Tokyo around the corner or Minado on Rt 9, Thai selection is similarly passable. Clientele during weekday lunches is, predictably, office groups. Service is fine, servers seem bored but professional. Free parking lot just east of the restaurant works well --- don't try to poach the carefully-guarded bank parking lot to the west. read more

Dah Mee is very close to where I work, so it's a common lunch place for a lot of my co-workers. Today was our usual Friday lunch, where a couple of people pick-up takeout for anybody that wants to order. The choice of restaurants today was Dah Mee. I decided a takeout lunch sounded good, so I ordered the Pad Thai Vegetable, vegetarian with tofu. It arrived back at the office right on time. I've had the same dish a few times before, and it was as good this time. There weren't many vegetables, but the sauce was very good and the tofu was nicely done. A very filling lunch. In previous visits, when I've eaten at the restaurant, the wait staff has been good, not overly friendly, but very competent. The Pad Thai Vegetable usually has a lot of vegetables (today's takeout was not the norm). My co-workers rave over the stone pot bibimbob dishes. Been here a few times in the four years I've lived around the block because it's just meh. Seems that I always call when they're on break which is weird because I literally go like once a year. Was starving and already around town so I called and had to wait half an hour for pick up which is fine. You go in and they look at you like you're shit every time but also like whatever. This is my second time coming to this restaurant and I still feel the same as my first time coming here. It's not great but it's not bad. I ordered Thai iced tea, Thai crab ragoons, Siam fried rice and the chicken bim bap stone pot! The Thai iced tea was good and refreshing, a little sweeter than most places. The Thai crab ragoons could've been better. The filling was 99.9% cream cheese, no crab meat even though it says there's suppose to be! The Siam fried rice was alright, a little bit oily though. I was skeptical at first. How could one restaurant do Japanese, Thai and Korean and do them all well? Well they can! The main chef in the kitchen is Thai, the owner is Korean and the sushi chef is (drum roll please...) Japanese! They seemed to have found a team of people who each have their strengths and consistently turn out good food. We're regulars now. The menu is huge and overwhelming but I haven't had a bad dish yet. Recommended: Ok Dol Bi Bim Bab (the hot stone pot dish). So good. If you are the type of person who gets pad thai every time, you won't be disappointed. Sushi boats are well prepared and yummy. The decor isn't much but the place is clean and the well-run. Waitstaff is friendly. The drink menu is small but has all the essentials to find the right pairing you are looking for. As you may tell from my other recent posts, I've recently moved to Natick center and have been trying a few restaurants in the area. Dah Mee was actually my first dinner out in Natick and I enjoyed my food, the first time. I went with my roomate and one of our friends b/c it was close and we were starving after a day of heavy moving. We found Dah Mee and thought it was very quaint and didn't look too busy. The waitress was terribly rude and short, and she's the reason that they lose another star. But the food made the experience much better. I had the Avacado salad to start and the veggie tempura. The avacado was orgasmic and my roomate and I had a moanfest we were loving it so much. We've gotten the salad a few times since on take out but it's not been nearly as good. There are def better places in the area to go for Asian cuisine but this one shouldn't be discounted yet. Trying this place won't be a complete disaster. read more

I like this place...despite the fact that they don't give you any side dishes [ban chans] which ALL korean restaurants do no matter where they are (EXCEPT THIS ONE!). I swear they would have better business if they started operating like a normal one....but whatever. I still like their food and I get free goodies since my friend's aunt owns this place... Their yook gae jang [spicy soup] and gal bi tang are YUMMY. I recommend those two korean dishes, as well as bi bim bap and pad thai. Those four items are always the only ones I get. Their ddeokbokki is also yummy but it is expensive for how much you get [7 bucks i think] but that thing is SO addicting. There's this one lady who's super BIAAATTCHY and gives you shitload of attitude but I just give her horrible tip if she's serving our table so it's no biggie. (Last time I went, I was about to drink water out of my glass and it was literally 2 icnhes away from my lips when she came by saying "excuse me" and snatche dmy glass out of my hand to fill it up. I really like this place for its ownership and attention to customer service in addition to the food which has always been fresh and flavorful. I have a few significant ingredient issues and the woman on the phone was so kind, patient and helpful! She checked labels on things, made suggestions and offered to use brown rice instead of white rice. It's things like a little extra kindness that goes a long way with me. We love the bimbim bop, and often come here just for that dish. But in general food is consistently good and servers are weirdly attentive. Pad Thai is normally good, as is the sushi and daily specials. Somewhere along the road some of the curry dishes feel messy and miss out on the protein to veggie ratio, but in general, not a bad place for lunch and relatively inexpensive, considering its a sit down meal. Its not a chain, so you can expect the flavors to be better identified with home cooking than with the cookie cutter chain profiles. read more

I went there for the first time with two friends and decided to try Korean food for the first time. My friends were Asian foodies and loved the place, and suggested that I try out the bi bim bab for my 'starter' Korean dish, which I did. The bi bim bab was pretty good. It's a salad-like dish with chicken, rice and hot sauce that you mix in separately according to your taste and spice tolerance. The half-raw fried egg threw me off, but since you were supposed to mix it up, it wasn't that bad. Overall, the food was great and I'd definitely go back to try other dishes. The -1 star is for the lack of friendly service. I feel like I owed the waitress money or something by the way she was treating us. Smiling a bit wouldn't hurt. read more

This is a great korean restaurant in Natick. There aren't too many places outside the city where you can find Ok Dol, and luckily Natick center has it! It was nice to know there's a Thai, Korean and Japanese restaurant nearby work. I was there with few co-workers and my experience was horrible. We were greeted with "hello, how many"... and was put in the corner near the bathroom when the restaurant was nearly empty. Our waitress, the only one waitress during lunch hour.. took a long time to take our order. She didn't apologize, but came up to our table "are you ready, what do you want". Her attitude and the tone of voice was unfriendly. (I did give her benefit of the doubt, that she may be having a bad day-- but I went back twice and same attitude) Oh, not to mention when our Thai Iced Tea came out, there was a spider crawling around the straw! It was absolutely disgusting. The food was very bland. I ordered the Chicken Penang and the curry was very watery and tasteless. The second time I had ordered something off the Korean menu, thinly sliced spicy pork. That meal was better, it also came with two california rolls, salad, soup and small portion of noodle. I think I will hold off until my next visit, perhaps I'll do takeout instead. read more

This review is based on the Thai food only. The chicken satay was meaty and moist with a nicely flavored peanut sauce. Duck dishes are very good with nice chunks of tender duck- but they should use more Asian vegetables- especially mushrooms. My experience with the service is positive. A friendly greeting and pleasant and efficient waitresses- so maybe they got the message from all the negative reviews. This would be 5 stars vs. 4 because the place needs to be spiffied up. This is a qualified four stars. There are better places in Metrowest to get Japanese and Thai food. But when I go to Dah Mee, I order the Korean entrees, because that's where this restaurant excels. If you've never had Korean food, try to Ok Dol Bibim Bop--a combination of rice, vegetables and either beef, chicken or seafood (my favorite) served in a hot stone bowl with Korean flavorings and a spicy sauce on the side (you don't even need the sauce). It is a real treat, as are most of the Korean offerings. read more
