The meat quality was quite good - we tried daedo cut, and the regular cuts (I liked this more since I prefer fattier cuts). I enjoyed the bibim cold noodles, the fried rice was ok and loved the ice cream. No banchan though? For me, the service dropped off really badly at the end. The waiter(s) that were helping us left completely? Not sure if they clocked out and went home mid shift? And we looked for ANY waiter or staff that wasn't the kitchen staff - it took us 20-30 min to find someone - there was one guy helping the entire restaurant at one point. I felt bad but it was quite unprofessional, and left a really terrible last impression. I probably wouldn't return.

I was impressed with cleanliness, no odor, modern setup and great service. Highest quality beef is served cooked in front of you by the server. Lean beef that tastes proves it. The Bulgogi is lean and delicious. The fried rice and the side dishes were all the best quality. When we arrived, the table was setup with all the side dishes, water and very impressive choices of sauces house made. We ordered the Seoul Nights Soju which was outstanding. They also have Suntory beer that tastes incredible. If you love beef and you do not like a big piece of meat in front of you that disgusts some people, then this is your place. The small cubes of different kinds of best quality beef cooked in perfection can be dipped in your favorite sauce accompanied by great side dishes. Parking is very convenient with valet service.

Upscale Korean BBQ in koreatown. I was excited to try not for their meat but their ice cream that has gone viral for being fresh milk. Their meat cuts were all juicy and I really loved their specialty daedo cut. The service is friendly and they cook your meats for you. Overall a must try if you love Kbbq and want something diff from the more casual ones.

The third of seven Korean restaurants around the world designated as 'Excellent Korean Restaurants' by the South Korean government that I've visited, Daedo Sikdang is the Los Angeles instance of the famous Seoul ribeye steakhouse. Located in Koreatown near the Wilshire/Western Metro subway station, it was an easy walk for my daughter's father-in-law and me to come for a weekday lunch. We ordered off of the lunch menu, and found the meal to be quite good, though not as phenomenal as the previous two that I visited. The original Daedo opened in Seoul in 1964, focusing on ribeye steaks. The one US branch opened in July 2021, and I remember reading a bit about it when it opened. We arrived about 30 minutes after the 11:30 opening, and had choice of comfortable seating (there were plenty of open seats). It's a big, modern space inside with a large bar, large dining area, and a private banquet room with multiple karaoke breakout spaces. Our hostess mentioned that it had remodeled since its original opening. The main menu was accessible via the QR code on the printed paper placemats in front of us. There was a separate laminated lunch menu, which had better value based choices. In terms of non meat dishes, the ingredient highlighted was kkakdooki. It was one of the two banchan given, the other being a young radish kimchi (which isn't a favorite). The kkakdooki was good, though chopped unevenly. Kkakdooki Fried Rice ($15) - similar to cabbage fried rice, except it uses very finely diced radish kimchi. It was well executed with the pieces being small enough to infuse its flavor and texture. Denjang Stew ($15) - soybean soup. It was good, coming out rapidly bubbling and went really well with the really good medium grain white rice. Yukaejang ($18) - spicy beef soup, served with rice. We had to wait quite a bit for this to come out, but we thought it was worth it. It did have small strips of beef, and plenty of braken fern shoots (which my dining companion enjoyed, me not as much)). Daedo is known for their free soft serve at the end of the meal, served with a rice cracker. It was very thick, but not particularly creamy and had a slightly off taste. It seemed as if the restaurant was minimally staffed, with our interaction with our server being friendly but a bit disjointed. Our three dishes came out separately, with quite a bit of time in between, making it difficult to start eating if we wanted to wait for both of us to start...it did mar our meal a bit. But requests for additional plates along with refilling of our water was graciously obliged at all times. And after the meal, our hostess greeted us out, wishing us well. It was a good ending to a good, well-priced meal.

Daedo is a Korean BBQ restaurant I've been going to for many years -- I've visited about 7-8 times since it first opened a few years ago. When it first opened, I remember waiting almost two hours just to get a table because it was so popular. These days, it's nice that there's usually no wait. The quality of the ribeye here is excellent, which is the main reason I like this place. But, many Korean BBQ restaurants offer a wide variety of side dishes, but here they only serve one -- a green onion salad -- which is a bit disappointing. Still, the meat quality is great, the atmosphere is nice, the staff is always friendly, and they grill the meat for you very well, so it's a place I keep coming back to. After finishing the meat, I usually order the diced radish fried rice, which is one of my favorites. They also give complimentary ice cream to all customers for dessert, which is a nice touch.

We had the whole restaurant to ourselves on a Saturday at 12pm. It was fantastic and the staff was so nice. We even had two servers. Found plenty of free neighborhood parking a 2 min walk away. We got the Daedo cuts and the meat was delicious. Very tender and the staff cooked it perfectly. Three orders was the perfect amount for two women. If you're a big eater, then maybe 2-3 orders for yourself. We also got the kimchi cold noodles that were tasty and the sides were a perfect complement to the meat. Very low carb. Unfortunately, the ice cream machine was down so we couldn't try it but the wine was good. The ginger ade was mostly sprite. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice and quiet lunch with a pretty interior.

This is a very nice and very clean Korean bbq in the middle of Koreatown. I was surprised that there were any open tables at all on a weekend night, but I guess we got lucky. They have an interesting way of providing choices on the menu: you select the cut of meat and then select the preparation. We had traditional galbi along with ribeye in both the traditional cut and daedo cut -- hands down, get the daedo cut. The traditional cut is sliced thin and, as a result, the meat get overcooked and tough. The daedo cut is thicker and MUCH juicier. The banchan were mostly good, particularly the square cut radish kimchi. I was a little surprised they didn't have more standard cabbage kimchi. And I didn't love the raw cabbage -- I would have preferred lettuce. The cold noodles (naegmyun) was not good -- the broth didn't have much meaty flavor at all, as it was very sour and that sour flavor was just overwhelming. I won't order that here again Service was excellent. They put a lot of attention to cooking the meat for you at your table.

We are clearly moving from the typical K-Bbq to an upscale version that iI have found from LA to Vegas. The opposite of your all-you-can-eat versions of k-bbq is fine with me since I'm going for quality over quantity these days. Daedo's service and cut of meat meets all the new criteria. I would start with the Daedo cut on your first visit. Nice variety, top quality, and at $59/pp worth the price. The only pass would be the steamed egg dish. It was good, but nothing special. I would try the Kkakdooki fried rice which was something different that we enjoyed. I would add the kimchi puffs on top, nice texture difference. Valet a very reasonable $3 in the lot.

While the daedo cut portion size was laughable, I relatively enjoyed my experience here. The meats were good quality and I enjoyed the ribeye cap the best. The daedo galbi was good and interesting. I've never been served galbi without it being attached to the bone. The caramelized onions it was served on top of were good, but gave a strong after taste that lasted throughout the night and I woke up the following day with the taste of it in might mouth as well. The yukjeon was decent, although a bit too eggy. For the sides, I enjoyed the gyeranjjim the best since the eggs were so fluffy and good. They paired well with the kkakdooki fried rice. I wasn't the biggest fan of the cold noodle dishes and the flavors of them though. Lastly, I loved the complimentary milk ice cream soft serve they gave us at the end of the meal which was creamy and refreshing. For 3 people, it was around $80 each with tip. While the experience here was good, I probably wouldn't spend that much again here based on the food.

    Exquisite KBBQ

My solid advice is this: don't eat here unless you want to be spoiled for KBBQ. This place is exquisite. The flavors. The quality. The vibe. It's 100% fine dining for KBBQ. We had the steak, soup, fluffy egg, and some really well made cocktails. Can't say enough good things about this place. The service is great. Staff is friendly and super on top of it. They even cook the dishes for you. Honestly, can't wait to go back!

From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how clean and well-maintained the restaurant was. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They made us feel valued throughout the entire dining experience, and their service was excellent without ever feeling rushed. As for the food, it completely exceeded our expectations. Every dish was beautifully presented, made with fresh ingredients, and packed with flavor. You can really tell that a lot of care goes into every plate. Honestly, the food was so delicious that my stomach was ready to greet it before it even arrived! Every bite was satisfying, and we found ourselves wanting more even after we were full. It's not easy to find a restaurant that gets everything right--cleanliness, service, atmosphere, and food--but this place absolutely does. We left happy and already talking about our next visit. If you're looking for a restaurant with amazing food, outstanding service, and a welcoming environment, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won't be disappointed!

    Karen H.

When I go to a Korean BBQ restaurant, I usually don't expect high-level service. If the service is fast, I already consider that good. But Daedo completely changed that expectation. The experience honestly felt closer to fine dining than a typical KBBQ spot. Jay, our server, delivered the kind of service I normally only get at places like Cipriani or Nobu--polished, attentive, and perfectly timed without being intrusive. It elevated the entire dinner. Now the food. Everything felt high quality and well thought out. The galbi and the bulgogi were both excellent and clearly different cuts with their own flavor and texture. The fried rice was packed with flavor, and the meat pancake was one of those dishes you keep going back for even when you're already full. Honestly, after giving Daedo five stars, I'm tempted to go back to some of my other KBBQ reviews and lower the ratings. This place raised the bar. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. Wow.

Loved the complimentary ice cream at the end

We came here for my friend's birthday and it is so incredible that we even have Daedo here as a first USA location right in our very own Koreatown! They also have a bar and private karaoke rooms that is elegantly done in the back. This place is a class act down to the quality of their steaks. So tender and juicy. Service is non stop at your table whether they are grilling or taking care of your needs they deserve the higher price point because they deliver on all accounts. Excited to head back to try their karaoke room. I do love to sing and we all left so happy and full. 60 years of being around says something. They practice service and experience and most of all culture. Highly recommend!

This is my second time here: last trip was in 2022, where I had the best fig and gorgonzola pizza and bone marrow of ma liiiiiife (in addition to some pasta dishes)! This time, I had six dishes, split with my friends: the fig and gorgonzola pizza (again--why mess with a fave?), the octopus and calamari (surprise hit!), the oxtail ravioli (good--but not my favorite; portion was super small too!), the gnocchi (good, but not amazing), the lamb ragu pici (AMAAAAAAZING!). We also had some beverages; a cellador saison and 2 glasses of red wine. The service and attention is good. I will say that inside the restaurant, it is BUMPING! We are so glad we got a table out on the patio so we could actually converse (inside the restaurant, the music is so loud, you practically have to yell!) If you sit outside, say hi to the family of raccoons on the roof! I will also say, since 2022, this restaurant is now "highly recommended" by the Michelin guide...which has definitely increased its popularity. Somehow, this has translated to much smaller portions though. They encourage sharing "family style" with friends, but the portions are so small, you really only get a few bites from the pasta dishes before it's all gone! (The pizza is at least bigger). So, while Bestia is fantastic, prepare to order a lot more to be truly full and spend at least $100 per person. For all 6 dishes, drinks, and tax (without tip) our total for 3 people was $250.01.
