Green onion salad
Naomy V.

Upscale Korean BBQ in koreatown. I was excited to try not for their meat but their ice cream that has gone viral for being fresh milk. Their meat cuts were all juicy and I really loved their specialty daedo cut. The service is friendly and they cook your meats for you. Overall a must try if you love Kbbq and want something diff from the more casual ones.

Daedo is a Korean BBQ restaurant I've been going to for many years -- I've visited about 7-8 times since it first opened a few years ago. When it first opened, I remember waiting almost two hours just to get a table because it was so popular. These days, it's nice that there's usually no wait. The quality of the ribeye here is excellent, which is the main reason I like this place. But, many Korean BBQ restaurants offer a wide variety of side dishes, but here they only serve one -- a green onion salad -- which is a bit disappointing. Still, the meat quality is great, the atmosphere is nice, the staff is always friendly, and they grill the meat for you very well, so it's a place I keep coming back to. After finishing the meat, I usually order the diced radish fried rice, which is one of my favorites. They also give complimentary ice cream to all customers for dessert, which is a nice touch.

This is a very nice and very clean Korean bbq in the middle of Koreatown. I was surprised that there were any open tables at all on a weekend night, but I guess we got lucky. They have an interesting way of providing choices on the menu: you select the cut of meat and then select the preparation. We had traditional galbi along with ribeye in both the traditional cut and daedo cut -- hands down, get the daedo cut. The traditional cut is sliced thin and, as a result, the meat get overcooked and tough. The daedo cut is thicker and MUCH juicier. The banchan were mostly good, particularly the square cut radish kimchi. I was a little surprised they didn't have more standard cabbage kimchi. And I didn't love the raw cabbage -- I would have preferred lettuce. The cold noodles (naegmyun) was not good -- the broth didn't have much meaty flavor at all, as it was very sour and that sour flavor was just overwhelming. I won't order that here again Service was excellent. They put a lot of attention to cooking the meat for you at your table.

We are clearly moving from the typical K-Bbq to an upscale version that iI have found from LA to Vegas. The opposite of your all-you-can-eat versions of k-bbq is fine with me since I'm going for quality over quantity these days. Daedo's service and cut of meat meets all the new criteria. I would start with the Daedo cut on your first visit. Nice variety, top quality, and at $59/pp worth the price. The only pass would be the steamed egg dish. It was good, but nothing special. I would try the Kkakdooki fried rice which was something different that we enjoyed. I would add the kimchi puffs on top, nice texture difference. Valet a very reasonable $3 in the lot.

While the daedo cut portion size was laughable, I relatively enjoyed my experience here. The meats were good quality and I enjoyed the ribeye cap the best. The daedo galbi was good and interesting. I've never been served galbi without it being attached to the bone. The caramelized onions it was served on top of were good, but gave a strong after taste that lasted throughout the night and I woke up the following day with the taste of it in might mouth as well. The yukjeon was decent, although a bit too eggy. For the sides, I enjoyed the gyeranjjim the best since the eggs were so fluffy and good. They paired well with the kkakdooki fried rice. I wasn't the biggest fan of the cold noodle dishes and the flavors of them though. Lastly, I loved the complimentary milk ice cream soft serve they gave us at the end of the meal which was creamy and refreshing. For 3 people, it was around $80 each with tip. While the experience here was good, I probably wouldn't spend that much again here based on the food.

We had the whole restaurant to ourselves on a Saturday at 12pm. It was fantastic and the staff was so nice. We even had two servers. Found plenty of free neighborhood parking a 2 min walk away. We got the Daedo cuts and the meat was delicious. Very tender and the staff cooked it perfectly. Three orders was the perfect amount for two women. If you're a big eater, then maybe 2-3 orders for yourself. We also got the kimchi cold noodles that were tasty and the sides were a perfect complement to the meat. Very low carb. Unfortunately, the ice cream machine was down so we couldn't try it but the wine was good. The ginger ade was mostly sprite. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice and quiet lunch with a pretty interior.

Exquisite KBBQ

My solid advice is this: don't eat here unless you want to be spoiled for KBBQ. This place is exquisite. The flavors. The quality. The vibe. It's 100% fine dining for KBBQ. We had the steak, soup, fluffy egg, and some really well made cocktails. Can't say enough good things about this place. The service is great. Staff is friendly and super on top of it. They even cook the dishes for you. Honestly, can't wait to go back!

Loved the complimentary ice cream at the end

We came here for my friend's birthday and it is so incredible that we even have Daedo here as a first USA location right in our very own Koreatown! They also have a bar and private karaoke rooms that is elegantly done in the back. This place is a class act down to the quality of their steaks. So tender and juicy. Service is non stop at your table whether they are grilling or taking care of your needs they deserve the higher price point because they deliver on all accounts. Excited to head back to try their karaoke room. I do love to sing and we all left so happy and full. 60 years of being around says something. They practice service and experience and most of all culture. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for an upscale KBBQ restaurant, you have to visit Daedo. They're serving up certified angus beef prime! You can enjoy ribeye roll, ribeye cap, and ribeye strip as well as other cuts or preparations like bulgogi and galbi. You can pair your meat selections with steamed egg, cold noodle, kimchi fried rice, spicy cold noodle, or denjang stew. They have a small bar if you're just looking to get drinks or you can enjoy them with your dinner. They have a great selection of libations including wine, beer, and cocktails. Cocktails are also a must! The Quilted Smoke, Red Punch, and Haeundae Sunset were some of our favorites. The restaurant is spacious but I would recommend reservations as they can get busy!

Wow! Best kbbq I've had hands down! Expensive but honestly it's not really that far off from the other places that serves similar cut of meat. It's a pretty straightforward menu and every cut of meat I tried was cooked perfectly and so tender. This will be my go to kbbq moving forward on. The cold noodle was also the best I've had, well balance and just so good! We also enjoyed the Yukjeon, so good! Place is beautiful and the cocktails are amazing, tasty and unique. I highly recommend this place and what's great is that they have parking!

CLASSIC CUTS and DAEDO CUTS (R), also known as RYBEYE CAP

6/22/2025 - This DAEDO restaurant was open 3 years ago, but the first restaurant was open in Korean in 1964. It has a total of six locations, but only one in the U.S. Spicy Lady is 3 stars due to lacking the flavor and taste of Jalapeno at all. Ribeye Roll is 4 stars, and ribeye cap is 5 stars (juicy & tender!) and Milk Ice Cream is 5 stars. The services are excellent. The prices are high. A $5 valid parking is available at the parking lot in front of the restaurant.

Returning to Daedo Sikdang, I was once again met with the excellent service we remembered from our previous visit. We enjoyed several orders of the Daedo Cut and the Classic Korean Cut, and had a wonderful time overall. We were once again taken care of by the fantastic Brian and Brian duo, thank you both so much. We look forward to coming back again soon. 11/10 My friend really enjoyed his time here! Thank you.

Vincent P.

The meat quality is amazing! We had a great dinner here and were promptly seated upon arrival. Parking in the area can be difficult to find, I recommend just doing valet, which is right next to the restaurant, price is cheap. Service was friendly and quick. The banchans were tasty and I enjoyed trying the different sauces and salt. We shared the Ribeye Cap, Daedo Galbi, and Daedo Cut between four people and were pretty satisfied. The Ribeye Cap is the star of the show, if you're looking for high quality meat, you must order this. The Daedo Galbi and Daedo Cut were also tasty, not comparable to the Ribeye Cap, but the price is much more reasonable. After the meat, they provided us with complimentary ice cream to end the meal. Overall, Daedo Sikdang is a great option for if you're looking for high quality Korean BBQ.

The highlights of the night were the celery root blini with crème fraîche and Ossetra caviar, the trout tartare, the duck sausage, and the grilled short ribs. And a special shoutout to the fried boneless chicken leg -- it was goddamn delicious! The wine list is exciting. It has some hard-to-find aged bottles. We scored a bottle of 2007 François Cotat Sancerre. Cotat is one of the most iconic Sancerre producers, and because his wines are built to age, finding a 2007 vintage on the menu here was a massive treat. While we didn't dive into the proper cocktail menu, my partner ordered the non-alcoholic Hojicha Orange Milk Punch, which was phenomenal, and judging by how beautiful the drinks at neighboring tables looked, I'd assume their cocktail program is strong. Service was stellar. Lisa, who helped us navigate the wine list, was lovely! She was incredibly generous, offering us a few complimentary pours of other wines to taste. Will definitely revisit to try other menu items and their cocktails!

I hope people start appreciating Alley Steakhouse. The only thing that's missing is an elevated take on a vegan steak from Besties (Vegan Paradise) down the street . Once upon a time (a few years ago), my CFP + banking institution wanted to thank me for being one of their top private clients. They expressed their gratitude with a very generous, all expense paid full-course meal at Bestia. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. Fast forward to now, I knew that coming back here would be a good idea. Make no mistake, even if you try to book a reservation several weeks in-advance, don't be surprised if the only available seats are at the counter. Granted, I was in a spacey table during my past visit, the counter can be an enjoyable & unintentionally entertaining space. It's great for a more casual vibe, as you get to see some of the kitchen workers put together some of their signature dishes. In many ways, Bestia seems like a microcosm of the city that it rather humbly resides within. What always catches me off-guard, is that the surrounding simple area really doesn't reflect the happening, vibrant, night-life that resides within the building's walls. You feel like you're taken so a different, very social, very bustling world. WINE: Podere 72, Poderi San Lazzaro (Marche region, central Italy) - 8.7 / 10 A very robust blend of Montepulciano & Sangiovese grapes that results in a balanced, medium bodied red wine that stands-up to heartiness of a beef ribeye steak. FOOD: Roasted Bone Marrow - 9.4/ 10 I have several friends that go here just for this particular dish. Funny enough, one can almost always tell that one is at Bestia because of the rather peculiar manner in which this dish is served. Hot, melted bone marrow is appropriately scooped out of the bone & poured onto spinach gnocchetti. It's like eating beef flavored mouth pillows of potato + spinach. It's definitely a dish that will impress whoever you are with. I can never resist ordering this whenever I am here. Oxtail alla Vaccinara - 8.9 / 10 The deep, rich maroon color of the rigatoni (thanks to beets) is a sight to behold. The pasta is firm but not too hard. It's a humble yet complex pasta dish that complements any main course. 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye - 9.4 / 10 Anybody who knows me knows that I love my ribeye. Any decent fancy restaurant does a ribeye. But no one does a ribeye quite like Bestia. The fermented mushroom cream delivers a punch of pungence not unlike a delectable dijon mustard, but to the highest of levels. This dish also makes me a believer in well-cooked onions served alongside steak. I usually like to take a home a portion of ribeye for later, but this is one of the very few instances when the steak is so good, that I can't help but finish it here. Again, the portion is more than enough to be shared. Fromage Blanc Mousse - 9.1 / 10 This seasonal dish hits all the right notes. It's the fanciest of cheesecakes, so I recommend sharing this. With its decadence, a little truly goes a long way & that's perfectly fine. The richness of the cheese is offset perfectly by the right balance of candied kumquats. A great "bite" to end on. Huge shout-out & thanks to Radu for being the nicest & most enthusiastic of servers. It's little things like him being so down to take pics of you with your party that really make me want to come back here. It the owners / management is reading this, please recognize how pivotal he is to your team. If he was working under me, I would most definitely give him a raise. Also, shout-out to Dani at the hostess stand. She is one of the most personable people. For being the first person that patrons see upon entering, she is the perfect face, attitude, & welcoming personality that the hospitality industry is in dire need of. She's a rockstar of a hostess & a pleasure to talk with. Bestia is a better place because of valuable employees like Radu & Dani. As always, come for the food. Come back for the service. I would definitely come back because of how amazing Radu & Dani are. Years after the hype, the vibe is still very much happening at Bestia.
