Went there today for the 1st time in about a year. I have been to this location several times throughout the years. I have never had a bad experience as others have mentioned. I have been there when it has been super busy and I have been there when it was slow. Didn't matter, as service has always been good. We went today as a party of 4. We did not do the AYCE, but most of us had something different. Short Rib soup, 2 Bee Beem Bhop (1 chicken and 1 beef) and KimChee CheeGae. Everyone loved what they got. They filled the sides as we needed and they were great as always. Service was great. Our waitress was very attentative and helpful with our selections. Not sure why service was bad when all the waitresses was asking all the tables, but ours, for anything extra such as drinks and the such so I asked real quick for help here. Of course the waitress with the right arm tattoo sleeve was ready to turn around and decided to make a scene by saying "you don't have to be rude." well, I was not because we have been waiting forever while all of them were ignoring our table so in order for me to get attention I had to ask. Of course, I was the rude one for asking to get some help and they are off helping others who's came after us and we never had one refill of water while the other tables had multiples. We were on a trip to CO so decided to get KBBQ. I read some of the negative reviews so was hesitant but thought, it must be good if it Guy Fieri went there. It was the closest Korean bqq to where we were staying so we went. They have AYCE for $38 which I thought was pricey compared to LA and they limit you to getting galbi just once. My husband wasn't very hungry so we decided to get 2 orders of galbi instead of AYCE. I was disappointed that it was the LA galbi cut. Usually that is the cut they give you at a Korean nonbbq restaurant. But it was still good. They had a good variety of banchan. The kimchi was really old though and we only got two pieces of cucumber. I asked for more cucumber and they said that because we didnt get AYCE we dont get unlimited sides. I've never heard of having to pay for banchan unless it is a Korean restaurant in the middle of no where. But the server came back and said that this time they could give us a second serving but would charge us after. They dont have any garlic, rice paper wraps, or ssam which was disappointing as well. If you have never had kbbq you will be happy with this place. But being Korean having grown up having the best kbbq in LA, this was just mediocre. read more

When this place first opened it was in its prime! Now it's in need of a lil renovation but the food is still fire tho. That's the only reason for the 5 stars. Servers are super nice too. I normally don't leave reviews, but this restaurant was so frustrating that I have to say something. Please stay away from this place. We were a group of four adults and one child, and we ordered the all-you-can-eat option. My child said she wanted corn cheese, which is typically served as a free side dish at most Korean BBQ restaurants. The server immediately said, "Yes, we have that." One of my friends asked about soup, and the server said, "We can add that".Please pay attention to this phrasing -- it becomes important later. So we all sat down and finished our first round of food. When we called the server to order the second round, we asked for more short rib, but she told us it could only be ordered once. She pointed at the menu and said, "It's written clearly." We looked again and, sure enough, there was a tiny line at the bottom that said, "Can only be ordered once." She told us, "You can order anything else as much as you want. This isn't my fault -- talk to the owner if you don't like it." Then my daughter asked for another serving of corn cheese, and the server again said, "Sorry, this dish can also only be ordered once. That's the owner's rule. I can give you the owner's email address if you want to complain. If you want more, you'll have to pay for it separately." To make matters worse, the grill's flame was extremely weak. If you've been to other Korean BBQ places, you'll immediately notice how much lower the heat was here -- it made grilling painfully slow. Then the third round of meat arrived. As we were grilling, we noticed a cut piece of cardboard -- yes, actual cardboard -- on the grill. It was disgusting. We completely lost our appetite and rushed through the rest of the meal just so we could leave. We informed the server about the foreign object. She didn't offer a single word of apology. She just said, "Our meat is fine -- it must have come from the delivery," basically blaming the supplier. I couldn't even fully understand what she was trying to say, and I honestly didn't want to argue anymore. I just wanted to pay the bill and leave. When we got the check, they had: * Added an 18% service charge, and * Charged us for two bowls of soup, even though earlier the server said they could "add" the soup -- which turned out to be a word trick. What she meant was they would add it to the bill, not include it as part of the all-you-can-eat dinner. This is a dishonest and shady restaurant. My sister wanted to come here because of "TikTok" which now I've told her that tik tok is an illusion and influencer want to hype up something that isn't as it seems. The server in the beginning when I had asked to order meat just said we get everything by small portion to begin with than larger if we ordered more. Which we didn't even want 3 of the meats that you automatically get, coming from where kbbq is huge in California, that's a waste of food in the end. The soy garlic chicken was really dry and not that tasty. My order of galbi was just okay. The marinade was off. It was just sweet and did not have much other flavor. The clay pot bibimbap was also just okay. Our group was seated at two long tables-- one person ordered the short rib bibimbap (this is an extra charge) and the other ordered the regular beef bibimbap. One person was digging in already, and then the other bibimbap order came. It looked like regular beef, so we asked the server if this was the short rib. She looked at the bibimbap and realized she swapped their orders. She literally just said 'Sorry, this is the wrong one' and proceeds to swap the bowls (despite one person having already taken a bite of it). It kind of happened so fast that they couldn't react. All the meats are tasty and they will keep bringing you more until you tap out. They don't change your grill which is a little strange, most places do, it reduces smoke. We should've read the reviews before going because our opinion is very similar to the other 2-3 star reviews around here. My credentials: I've eaten at many (too many to count) delicious kbbq places on the east and west coast. The Food We did the unlimited option. They're charging prices for what should be great cuts of meat and consistent service. We were restricted to only ordering 1 order of kalbi, which was the best meat by far. The pork belly was barely edible because it was all fat. I know pork belly is fatty, but this was the next level fatty. The brisket was fine. The Service We had to continuously flag down our waitress for every thing - getting in another order, getting more banchan, getting more water, the check, etc. Needless to say, we were flipping, cutting, handling grill temp, and serving our own food. It's not a big deal because we know how to do all of that, but it's become an expectation (coming from east coast) that at least some of the time the waiter/waitress handles that for you. When we did get our waitress' attention, we always got what we needed in a timely fashion, but we would always spend a good amount of time looking for her and trying to catch her before she fast walked away. The Good The banchans were all tasty. We didn't have a reservation on a weekend, but the place was full and we were quoted a 40 min wait. It was more like a 15 min wait. read more

How wild that I've lived in Colorado for 3.5 years, but this was my first time eating KBBQ here. I knew about Dae Gee from driving by the Denver location, but after taking a workout class with some friends in Arvada, this was the closest option. I've honestly avoided it because of the higher quality KBBQ I've had my whole life in California. As expected, it was only okay. But unlike California, there wasn't a wait. Everything was overpriced, and there was a weird loophole to get unlimited ban chan for the table because people often take advantage of AYCE. I think we needed to order one "main dish" per person at the table. Anyways, I really only liked a few of the meat options we picked, and our group wasn't in love with the ban chan flavors. From the outside and inside, I'd give it a 5/10. If I was to base the review solely on food and drink. I think I would leave it at a good 7.5. If I wanted to talk about service, friendliness and speed of food, then I would be forced to rate this place 9/10. Altogether I may not come back but I'm happy I went. Why 4 stars then? The portion sizes for the prices. A bowl of gook soup and a chicken bulgogi with a hot tea and 1 beer was $70.00 for lunch. That was quite pricey. My husband lived in Korea for 3 years, so he is quite picky about his Korean food. He did say it was very good but did point out that the sides of kimchi were sparse as the kimchi is supposed to be community sharing and there was barely enough for 1 person. The meat is fine, nothing special about it, and you can tell it has been frozen (but most meats at kbbq places are). The food here is a 3, but the service was a 5! The employees were kind, attentive, and not too overbearing. The bathrooms were clean, and it definitely felt more spacious than other dae gee locations that I have been to. I'm actually pretty surprised to see this restaurant only has 3.5 stars. This is one of my friends favorite restaurants and he has been raving about it for years, however, I did not have the chance to actually try it until recently. There were four of us and we did the all you can eat option which was about $30/person. Apparently, if one person at the table opts to do that, everyone does. I was fine with this because I have never gone to a Korean BBQ place before and would not have had any idea what to order anyways so having a wide selection of things was actually useful. The service was immensely quick all throughout the evening. They start you with a sample of several things (most things I don't even know) but some of them were kimchi, Korean pancakes, mashed potatoes, a pickle thing, onion, pineapple, etc. Some of them were really good, some of them, I was not a fan of. The one thing that was a bit strange to me was that it was all cold, I expected at least the pancake and the mashed potatoes to be warm, but perhaps that is simply because that is how it is American style? Regardless, the mashed potatoes were so tasty, they were SO sweet, I have no idea what was in them to make them as sweet as they were but they were almost like dessert mashed potatoes. Then we got the meat! A bunch of it - brisket, pork belly, spicy pork, chicken, beef, cow ribs, and I think one of two others. My favorite was the beef, brisket, and chicken, but honestly it was all really good. Due to having a time constraint, we were only able to order one more round of meats to enjoy, but I was still pretty full after this amount. And considering we were headed to a haunted house, it was probably best we did not over stuff ourselves! I would definitely return here, but I am so glad I went with people who had been there before and knew how/what to order/what to do, because otherwise I would have been completely lost. read more

Great kbbq place that is with checking out in Denver. My boyfriend and I heard about Dae Gee from the food network channel. Stopped by after our flight because we were starving. We came around 4pm and they had dine in available. They suggest to call before to check the seating area but we went during the slow times so we were seated right away. The lady took our temperatures and was strict about staying 6 ft apart during CO-VID. It's Understandable during times like this. Our server was great and friendly. Quick service and changed our grill quick. We got the unlimited dinner ayce which is $32/person. The server was informative since it was our first time there and offered the starter plate which includes sides, rice, and various meats. After we finished, we got more of the Bulgogi (marinated ribeye beef) and the Pork Belly. My fav is the Bulgogi because of the flavor and my boyfriend loved the pork belly because of the fat and how light it was. Will be back! read more

By far the worst Korean bbq I have ever had. Maybe this particular location at Westminster is really bad. When we sat down at the table, it was sticky and the shared bbq sauce looked unsanitary. The grill is left to burn in between long waits which ruins the meat you grill on. I'm Korean so I should be able to identify what small dishes (banchan) they serve but they had some mystery banchan that I didn't even know what to make of. The fish cake dish was so old that the fish cake dissolved when I put it in my mouth. They had a lump of mashed potato that I think is supposed to be Korean potato salad (usually comes with cucumber, apple, etc). They had great kimchi and that was about it. No soybean sauce for the meat. They are all about saving money. Their unlimited means that they will bring out an assortment of all of their meats for the first round (yes including chicken dumplings you can probably get at Trader Joe's) and you are allowed to order small portions of additional meat after (be aware the ribs are NOT included). Pork belly is so thin that it is almost see through. The bulgogi was delicious but that was about it. Pork bulgogi had so much marinade it was so overwhelming. Our server was nice and friendly but they seemed SO UNDERSTAFFED. We barely got any service. But she was really nice. Will not return. read more

My last review was a 4-star over three years ago when we first moved into the neighborhood. Since then I've visited at least 10-15 times, dinner, lunch, and to go. My most recent trip was the saddest of them all. A to go order with literally 1 small piece of everything. It was depressing. Straight out of the box- 1 thin cucumber slice, a teaspoon of potato salad, 1 slice of kimchi, and 1 thin radish. Look, i get it, restaurants are tough, but seriously skimping just looks bad. My sense is they scaled too quickly by opening the other locations off Broadway and Aurora so the main locations are getting told to cut the fat... My advice to the customers: eat in. This business should not be participating in this program year after year if they are not going to honor their deal. The servers never know what's going on with the beer and this last time they brought a different beer than described. Two stars because the servers at least acted sorry. AYCE KBBQ is sweeping the country as the next big thing. After thai food has dethroned chinese food, this is America's brand new obsession. So! With that being said. Hubby and I are in town visiting the sister. We whip out the Yelp app and saw this spot has a pretty good rating. Dae Gee it is! Place is pretty nice. A bit of a wait during peak hours, but it's nothing. Let's get on with the food shall we. The list of things we can pick from isnt a lot. Theres around 5 or 6 different variety. Maybe were a little spoiled when we go to different states, we get over 20 different types of meats and veggies when we go to other restaurants. Quality is the same as well, plus we pay roughly the same price too. Service was pretty good,, I do like the responsiveness of the crew. The lettuce kept coming. Ask for gochujang, it's definitely better than the signature sauces. That or sesame oil and salt. I had a great time eating here. I'd definitely come and eat here again. This is our family's favorite place to eat Korean BBQ in this area. To be fair, we haven't eaten at a ton of other KBBQ places in Colorado (not that there are many), but we're always pretty happy with Dae Gee locations. The seasonings and flavors for the meat are always delicious, and we've never had any problems with too much smoke or the grill or anything of the sort. I think it's largely a matter of luck, as we've always sat in well-ventilated areas and get good equipment. For the amount of money you pay, you get a crap ton of food, and the service hasn't ever disappointed us in the past either. To be fair, we're always too busy stuffing our faces to really interact with any waitstaff, so maybe we don't really know what the service is really like.
