This place is not what I envisioned a Korean BBQ place to be. First of all, we did not grill our meat. Our server cooked the streak and pork at the table next to us and served it to us all sliced up in a plate. The banchan selection was not a lot, but they offered free refill. The came the beef Bulgogi which I thought we would be cooking, but it came already cooked in a bowl, and the surprising part is, it was served with rice noodles. Isn't bulogi supposed to be just beef and no fillers? The food was delicious but I think I'll explore other Korean Restaurants and hopefully I'll find what I am looking for.before I'll come back here. Sometimes it's not just about the taste, ambiance, cleanliness and service. It's really all about the experience.

The place and ambience was modern and blended in with the other restaurants in the area. There weren't too many banchan offerings though but that wasn't a problem. The important thing is that as long as they have good kimchi, I'm good with that. The food was astounding! They're as authentic as you can get. One notable dish was their Beef Galbi Jjim. Out of all the Korean restaurants I've been to here in Cebu, this is the only one that has legit Beef Galbi Jjim. The other dishes I tried are worth mentioning as well; the pork from the Osam Bulgogi and Jeauk Bokkem was tasty, tender, and of good quality while the Duenjang Jjigae (soup) was flavorful and boiling hot (just what I like and what it should be). The Mandu (dumplings) was juicy and the ratio of meat was balanced well with the wrapper. The Jajangmyun was as expected. It wasn't the best I had but still satisfactory. To finish it all off, they gladly offered a complimentary Korean fish shaped ice cream sandwich called Samanco. Overall, I'd definitely come back again and also try their other dishes.

Even with the way the tables are set up, you have the option to dine on a regular chair/table or like true Japanese restaurants where you're seated on the floor. It's easy to see why Japanese tourists love coming to dine here - it's an authentic yakiniku experience. That means they do serve Kobe beef on the menu! Unfortunately that also means, to those sensitive of the issue, smoking is allowed while dining. Other than that, the meat quality is top notch. You get what you pay for. That said, this is a little more on the pricey side. On average, according to my dad, it comes out to about P2k to P2.5k a person each time we come here. Well worth it, in my opinion.

Once you enter, the place is very clean and has modern interiors. You have 2 choices where to dine: the air-conditioned area and the al fresco area. We stayed in the air-conditioned area because it was hot that day. Kuya J serves Filipino dishes such kare kare, crispy pata, and pochero. If I were you, skip all the meat and go straight for the Grilled Scallops! This is the best-seller and most popular appetizer. It's a simple dish actually. Scallops are topped with cheese and BUTTER then grilled. Served hot and fast, it only costs Php210 (4.51USD) per plate. We ended up ordering 3 plates. LOL! Other dishes you should try: Chorizo Dinamitas (chilis stuffed with chorizo meat), Lumpia Presko, and, for dessert, Tablea Flan with Coffee Syrup (chocolate flan with coffee caramel). Also, try their Dalandan Beer :) Overall, it was a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed our meal (even though it was mostly the Scallops!). If you're in Cebu, you should eat here! :)
