I wanted this to be a good review, and until the very last moment it was going to be one. We spent a weekday at the beach, found a free parking spot directly across the street from Daddy's, and everything was working out fine. We had hot dogs, fries, and milkshakes for lunch. They were all good, the staff were friendly, and service was quick. The hotdogs/sausages are cooked when they're ordered, or at least they were the day we were there. Everything was going fine. Before we left for the day, we decided to get a soft serve ice cream and ordered 3 of twists. When we were a ways away, we found a piece of metal in one of the cones, at the bottom of the ice cream. An actual piece of metal. It was about an inch long, thin strip of twisted metal that looked like when metal is scrapped with a file. Not sure how it got there, or if it was in the cone when the ice cream was served, or came out of the machine. Just glad it was caught before it was eaten. I would have gone back and talked to them about it, but by the time we saw it, we were on our way out of town.

Clam strip meal (comes with drink) and buffalo chicken meal (comes with drink, 4 tendies). Each meal was $11.50.

It was a hot day, and had a craving for yummy soft serve. This tasted like freezer burnt ice water. Worst ever.

Seems like they learned how to make it from someone and then taught their workers and that's why they have a good crispy fried chicken but other than that, they haven't bothered to perfect it with seasoning or care to make sure they have quality oil. Just being honest! The waffle fries were okay but for an extra 3.50$ I got like 8 fries... that again, were fried in like old tasting oil. The whole meal just felt very unhealthy lol regardless of it being unhealthy. You don't want to feel like garbage while eating it? You know what I mean? Haha. Also ordered the brownie sundae and I was honestly disappointed by the taste of this icecream... i don't know what it was but it just tasted like it had frost bite or something, the flavor was just off. I got moosetracks and Oreo as a base and really just didn't enjoy it. Aside from the actual food, the service was fine. They were nice. Charged me 1.99 as a mandatory delivery fee when ordering "pick-up" online.. that was weird. Seems like they're lowkey scamming people for a few extra coins but that racks up depending on how many people are ordering "pick-up" and picking up even though they're paying 4$ in taxes and the extra 2$ delivery fee. I'll attach a pic of the receipt for proof. That's like an extra 6-7$ they're making off people every order placed through their online portal. Last thing to mention, when picking up the order at the window the cashier placed my plastic spoon directly on the counter? lol. Ew? Why not hand it to me?? Or place it on a napkin. I can only imagine what else they're doing that's unsanitary in the back. All in all, won't be coming back and will not be recommending to anyone.

Kayem originated in Mass btw. I always appreciate loyalty to in state makers. The classic George's dog is mustard, meat sauce and chopped onions. Standard white bun. I've seen mixed messages online about how you're supposed to order that dog. I've seen "All the Way." (Which is also how they say it in Providence). I've seen "Three Up", which is a new one for me. But the Menu actually says that a Coney is mustard, meat sauce and onions. So I ordered two coneys and everything worked out fine. The hot dogs were good, both in terms of the components, and in the sum of their parts. My dogs were not particularly snappy. I could see a grill mark. So perhaps it just needed a bit more turning so that it was more well done. Kayem is a good hot dog in terms of flavor. I prefer some other New England brands though. The meat sauce is good, but the seasoning didn't pop for me in the way that my favorite meat sauces do. I'm sure part of this is what you grew up with though. George's is a cool, old school, hot dog joint, that I imagine still does it like it always has. If that's how you like your hot dog spots, I suspect you'll love George's. 4.25 Stars
