Bacon, egg, and cheese croissant (interior view).

This quaint, family owned restaurant serves breakfast, coffee drinks and lunch in the heart of downtown Brunswick. The employees are welcoming and the store smells like your grandma's kitchen. You know it's going to be good when the locals frequent here! I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant and a latte with vanilla flavoring and spent $11 in total. I sat in the cozy store and read while they brought me my food. It was delish! I will be sure to frequent this place the next time I roll through town.

Corn made green straw - not paper straw. No tears from us today.

This is a cute Mom & Pop coffee shop downtown Brunswick. The Good news is they DON'T have paper straws...their green straws are biodegradable or made with corn or something hippie like that. I had an almond milk chai and my kid had a peanut butter French toast bagel and we both loved our orders. Everyone who walked in seemed like they were regulars.

Little coffee delight in Brunswick. Was just visiting for the day and we stopped here to get a quick pick me up for the day. The iced coffee was great and they were able to customize it which is great considering some places wouldn't even dare. We shared a Raspberry and white chocolate scone that was to die for! The young ladies who helped us out that day were such a delight, very sweet.

WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. We were in town for an event and found this hidden gem via Yelp. My Hubby is VERY picky about his coffee and they hit the nail on the head. He even gave the lady who made the coffee a hug. They are the friendliest people and the breakfast was delicious, filling and the prices are very reasonable. We WILL BE BACK!!!

I got the lavender vanilla raspberry latte which was super good. I think they may make their own syrups which is an A+ in my book. My husband got a dirty chai latte and it was super creamy and maybe even slightly thicker than milk but not by much I really liked it. It had a great chai flavor definitely a top 10 favorite chai. The spot was clean and spacious and had a great parking lot.

Really long line, but went kind of fast. But wait time for coffee was 20-30 minutes. And people just kept coming. If you are a coffee snob, and you want a top notch coffee... this place is not it. Was scared to try an espresso, so tried cortado, but it was so bitter the milk didn't even help the flavor. The coffee beans smelled really good, and seemed like they had the right beans to make a good coffee, they just don't care enough about how they brew it. But if you like your coffee with some sugar this place is for you!!! I got the vanilla honey cinnamon, at first it seemed too sugary, but second sip tasted good. I would get it again. They have a lot of flavors and fun seasonal options. Didn't realize until later that it's a chain.

Walk in and the hostess, young lady looked at us and mumbled. We explained how many people we had 5 with one more joining us. Just stared at us and looked confused. Said we could sit at the bar. The place was mostly empty. Asked again about seating and she seemed lost. A member of party asked if we could sit there, and pointed and the hostess states " I guess so" it was the weirdest interaction I have ever had with a hostess. She seemed lost. We were debating whether we should even stay. Overall we enjoyed the visit once we got past the door. Will give them another chance

I guess I wasn't very clear on what to expect after looking at their website before my visit. I much enjoy the Artists' Guild shop at Goodyear Cottage on Jekyll or Glynn Visual Arts on SSI and I had the impression that this would be Brunswick's version of those handmade art stores, but it wasn't. There was a paint-your-prefab-ceramics class going on in the back studio and people gathered around a table in the cafe making a craft or something. I know these are popular with certain people but Build-a-Bear type ceramics are not for me. The store portion is laid out much like an Anthropologie vibe, made to look like everything is precious and "deep." Merch was more crafty than artsy, like Etsy as a shop, with Etsy prices. All artsy-looking commercially produced goods or handicrafts rather than actual art--I saw no OOAK items in the shop, nothing actually handmade either unless the bead earrings were handmade on a loom but again, identical duplicates of them. It seemed like everything had to be a certain matching aesthetic and be a similar BoHo Brooklyn "Beige Mom" style. Brunswick can be diverse for those who embrace it, so the store name "Makers BWK" is a little misleading in that sense. When I think "Southern" + "art" I go to folk art or Gullah crafts, memory quilts, face jugs, etc. I get it if that's too traditional and established for the under-35s, but Brooklyn BoHo? I guess it's a novelty this far from NYC. Also, as you can see in my pictures, there was no coastal art representation for the Golden Isles. Unlike the Artists' Guild shop at Goodyear Cottage on Jekyll or Glynn Visual Arts on SSI, it just seems like there is no sense of locality infused in any of the products Makers BWK had. They mention goods from Haiti online so I appreciate if those are Fair Trade but there was nothing to explain what was local. The craft market candles? The mass-produced sketchbooks? Jewelry, candles, soap, cards, sketchbooks, random snacks... again, not OOAK original art. It is what it is, and good for those who like it. It's artsy craft market stuff. It's just not for me and was frustrating to waste time to visit when online it seemed depicted as actual art for sale.

To start when I pulled up to the place I was so impressed with the incredible vibe of the outside. Beautiful plants. Awesome fountain. Vibrant paint. Just beautiful!! Then you walk in and I was taken back by how beautiful the inside was too. Amazing wood work. Homemade drinks to the left. Great menu straight ahead and then some of the nicest staff I've ever met. I hadn't eaten all day so I was really hungry. I talked with the staff and had them pick me out their two best sandwiches. The beef and the chicken (can't remember the menu names lol) and then got a cup of chili! All of it was amazing!! Finally to close this off.. their story.. they have a little story brochure to the right of the register. Wow!! Such a cool story. I say this with all confidence.
