Note that the Pulitzer family once owned this building, so the brand presence is appropriate! Woven JEKYLL sweaters and very cute JEKYLL beach towels are two items I may have to stop back and buy. I love the luxury boutique feel of the shop, which takes up the full first floor of a historic cottage (with a long history but most famous for its use as the historic resort infirmary). The classes were successful, bringing customers into the store and creating a fun community event. I was excited to support another woman-owned business. I received one payment in February 2026 for approximately four weeks of lessons. After that, I continued teaching throughout March, April, and May. Despite repeated requests for payment, I was given various reasons for the delay and assured that payment was coming. I even offered to accept installment payments if that would help. Unfortunately, payment never arrived. For months, I attempted to resolve this matter privately through texts, phone calls, in-person conversations, and follow-up requests. I ultimately sent a certified demand letter, which was received, yet I am still awaiting payment for services that were provided months ago. I take responsibility for not having a more detailed written agreement in place. However, I firmly believe that when work is completed as agreed, payment should be made in a timely manner. I do not write this out of anger. I simply want to be paid for the work I performed. My hope is that Coastal Elements will honor its commitment and resolve this matter without further action.

This gift shop along with most of the others you'll find within the Jekyll Island Historic District are rather first class as opposed to the cheap stuff most often found in such tourist shops.

Also this "store" was listed under thrift shops. As we entered, we saw that in the back there are a few areas with vintage items and some antiques. But the place is more of a collection of artisan offerings -- each with their own area -- of everything from jewelry to painted signs, gifts and tourist things. Housewares to home decor; bric a brac to collectibles. Handmade and custom creations. The staff is quite nice. The store is fun to browse. And the kind of place to look for a unique gift for that someone who has everything.
