Highly recommended!!! we used DAD Pavers for the second time to complete our back yard. We have a quite large back yard and we could not afford to do everything at once. The first project was for DG and pavers, and now we had installed artificial turf, pavers and DG. I called DAD pavers again since they did an amazing job in the first place. We had an idea of what we wanted to do, but Bill gave us other suggestions. We ended up doing something completely different from our initial idea and it came up so beautiful! Bill just left, appointment didn't last 10minutes. He arrived at the front, he appeared irritated and was in a hurry. I told him I had 2 areas I wanted pavers done to, so he took a deep breath ( I noticed this) and I asked him if it was better to go to the back of the home first, he agreed. When we got there , I informed him of what I wanted done , Bill stated" it's too expensive, I've been doing this for a long time and most people can't afford that ") this guy didn't even measure anything yet, he assumed I was unable to afford DADS paver services. I asked him why he would make a comment like that to a customer ? I then asked him how he was able to come to that conclusion immediately? I asked him if he simply judged me as poor and couldn't afford pavers for my home in Santee a block from the Santee Lakes? I asked him to leave immediately. Really horrible experience. I believe that customers all should be treated equally, regardless of where or who we are, this experience is a first for me. I shall learn from this. DAD just finished an extensive paving / rock job at our home. From start to finish we were impressed with their knowledge, craftsmanship, and professionalism. As I've stated in other reviews, we try to deal with businesses that are local to the east county... DAD Pavers is another local gem. Project thoughts & observations: First if you really know what you want..great! But even if you are sorta vague on your design, call DAD anyway! They will send someone out to work with you (probably Bill), make suggestions, draw up a plan that you're comfortable with and give you an estimate. At this point let me say that we got 4 estimates. DAD was NOT the lowest but their comprehension and suggestions concerning our project were far & away the most professional. ...If you want the cheapest, you'll probably get the cheapest. Once you get started you probably won't see Bill except for when a progress payment is due but that's OK...if you're lucky you'll get David to oversee and manage the actual work. He's good at what he does, has an eye for detail and his entire crew seemed to really listen to and enjoy working for him (hope they are paying him well). The project turned out great...even the mailman remarked how good it turned out. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends and neighbors. The workers on some days didn't show up and there was no phone call to let us know. They paved the entire back yard with sand and a sealer. Two days after I turned the hose on and was watering the bricks the sand was going everywhere. Not happy to say the least. Repeatedly called and finally after 1 year the salesman ( not workers) came and bought gravel to place in all the openings. Didn't even spend the money to buy the sand-got gravel stones. Unprofessional to say the least. I know have gravel in my grass that he sealed and didn't fill in the drain holes or the one by our gate. Beware, if something goes wrong you won't get any workers who know what there doing to fix it, you will get the salesman who obvious know nothing about paving. We were looking to add a new sidewalk, patio, and extend our driveway in our front yard. Bill came out to our property to provide an estimate. He was friendly, patient, and helpful in creating our design. His bid was affordable, the project completion time was reasonable (1 wk), and the plans/contract were very detailed. When we were ready to start our project I asked Bill if he could come out a second time to update our design. He came over on short notice which I appreciated. Once our project started we had a chance to meet the prepping crew, the owners, and the paver crew. The prep crew was very friendly, professional, and are very hard workers. They were on time every morning ready to work. They were all easy to work with and answered all of our questions while keeping us well informed during the entire project. The crew left our yard very clean after every workday. We had a great experience with DAD Pavers. We are very happy with the work they did. Here's a preliminary review on DAD Pavers. So I must say, I cant really speak for the full experience, but I have been getting a lot bids lately for both pavers and decks, since we want to build a front porch. I read all the reviews and I can't believe the reviews that I've read on yelp based on people's experience based on the bids alone. I can't believe that yelp would allow negative reviews based on work that was never done. All based on personality conflicts. For example: "I didn't like the way he talked". LOL. Anyways, since people are posting negative reviews on DAD pavers based on a personality conflict during the bid, I thought I'd throw my 2 cents at them based on my interaction with Bill, their sales manager and his bid style . I had an appointment at 1pm with DAD pavers, I called at 1:10pm and asked if I got the appointment time wrong. The receptionist apologized and called Bill right away. Bill called me within seconds and said he was on his way from Chula Vista. Did I deduct any stars for being a little late? No I did not because SH*#T happens. Bill arrived in 20 min and started measuring right away. Was he a super enthusiastic guy, smiles, animated? No he was not. Not everyone can be a freaking robot like some of these reviews. He was matter of fact, awkward at times, but so what, so am I. He did sound like he knew what he was talking about. He was up front, honest and told me what I needed to hear. Our project seems like a lot of money for a porch, and he was honest about it, told me what I needed to hear to make up my mind as to whether or not to proceed with the project. So I will give DAD Pavers 5 stars for my current experience with them. If We end up hiring them to do our paving job, then I will definitely update my review as I've done in previous reviews. Don't come near this company! The contractor Bill which is also the salesperson, is a rude and unpleasant person, he's extremely unprofessional. They're not even doing the work, the sub contract a different company to do the job - it's better talking to them directly, they have much better service and they provide better prices. After closing the contract with Bill and they came to do the job in my backyard - they left it unfinished after a week: Bricks with stains and color difference, unleveled areas, wall bricks kept unglued. I had to chase him 2 months to complete the work - luckily I didn't pay him the whole amount until they finished it. They did a drainage line under the pavers and during the recent rains, my backyard is all flooded! It took me 2 weeks calling and texting Bill to come and take a look and he said they'll fix it - I'm waiting 2 months already for them to come fix it! Bad work and bad service!!! read more

We couldn't be happier with the job done by D.A.D. Pavers at our residence. From start to finish, they were polite, friendly, professional, courteous and extremely efficient. Gloria provided us with the estimate and worked closely with us to coordinate schedules and pricing. She was always quick to respond. They actually began our project two days earlier than promised on a Saturday! The crew arrived and made amazing progress on the first day. During the process, they were very receptive to changes and provided invaluable input and suggestions on our project. Our project included around1200 plus sq ft of pavers and 180' of Country Manor wall. The materials were delivered two days later on Monday, the original start date, and a crew started the project the following day on Tuesday. The project was completed by the following Saturday, one week to the day from the start date. While several others participated, the basic crew consisted of Louis and his brothers Alex and Fabian. They did an outstanding job, working well together in a coordinated effort to produce a magnificent, finished product. They truly were artists in their craft. We can't thank Gloria and Daniel and all of the guys enough for an outstanding job well done. We have had several companies complete projects over the past few years. D.A.D Pavers was truly best experience we have ever had. It was a pleasure to work with them and we look forward to additional projects with them down the road. We had a couple of different companies out to estimate a variety of options for our backyard. Bill @ DAD Pavers helped us with some design, and gave us the estimate we decided to go with. That's when it got really good. The crew was very capable. They showed up on time every day (not so early as to be aggravating), and the work moved along SO fast; they finished 3 days earlier than the 2 weeks estimate we were given. Our crew foreman was super communicative, and seemed justifiably proud of his work. Our job included over 1k sq ft of pavers, a 100ft+ electrical trench, a stacking stone wall, some plants, and even a new subpanel for our electrical. All of it was done professionally and on time. She gave wonderful design ideas. She is extremely pleasant and listens to her clients' wants and needs. She didn't mind coming out to the property to go over changes to our designs. We hired DAD Pavers to install a paver driveway and cap an existing retaining wall at our house. We'd already received quotes from two other companies. Both other companies took about one hour to measure and give us some information and then took three days for one of the companies and two weeks for the other to get us a quote. Bill from DAD Pavers measured our driveway and wall and wrote out a quote for us on the spot in 15 minutes! Bill was straight to the point, no BS, and knew the answers to all of our questions. Bill's quote was also the best value (I imagine they are able to offer a better price because they operate much more efficiently than the other companies). We hired DAD Pavers on the spot. Bill is extremely knowledgeable about all the different types of pavers and colors. He advised us against one of the colors we were considering pointing out that our driveway would look very orange. He was completely right. We went with another option and he said it would look great. He was right. They got our old driveway demolished in one day and then the driveway installed a few days later. I don't have enough good words to describe our experience with the DAD Pavers. All of the members of the DAD team were incredibly friendly, very skilled, professional and courteous. They were willing to listen to feedback and provide input on design changes and even with obstacles in their path like stubborn tree roots and some other unforeseen issues, they did not let it get in the way of getting the job done and did not let it interfere with the timeline. They always cleaned up nicely after their day's work and were always willing to make us happy. Bill helped us through our trepidation of spending a significant investment on the yard and getting the design right. He patiently entertained our questions and provided input, pictures and design changes as we worked through the transformation we wanted to do to our 1200 square feet back yard. Daniel, the owner was very professional and helpful and the crew were really such great hard workers. Their price was extremely competitive and we are very happy with the results. I was intrigued by DAD Pavers and called them for an estimate. Gloria Delgado came out on July 16 and promised me a quote in a day or two. I told her which part of the quote would be covered by my HOA due to a root intrusion that cracked my patio and which I would be paying for, so needed two quotes. After a couple of days went by with no contact, I called her. I finally received a quote on 7/23 with part of the information cut off and only the work to be covered by my HOA. I sent her an email within minutes of my receipt of the inadequate qote, asking for the information she promised to provide. No response to my follow-up phone calls. On August 5 I sent an email to the owner outlining my frustrations and asked for a call. Today is August 14 and I am beginning to look for another contractor given the pitiful customer service from DAD Pavers. I can only imaging that the job would not be completed on time. As it is, they have cost me a month. Really pathetic. read more

Believe me when I tell that Dad is not doing your Pavers!!! I had received an estimate from Bill the salesman and found that the paver price of Cambridge Cobble was 11sq ft. I found out that by calling directly to paver manufacturers can give you the price of anywhere from $2.88 sq ft to $3.28 sq ft. So this price of 11sq ft is being overcharged to 4 times the amount of paver available to anyone. He then charges $300 for dirt hauling for an area that is 4X51 ft where the property had no obstructions at all. This property was clean and ready to go. The digging is just part of the job. Other items he tried to charge for were totally ridiculous as well, so to come to long story short with his price he wanted to charge $3586 for this job. He attempts to say that he is going to give me 35% off of $3586 which comes to $3516....Huuggghhh is this fuzzy math??????? I told him that 35% off of 3586 should come to $2330 not $3516.16 but he seem to not want to budge off that price. That was it for me!!! Note that this job can be done by yourself with $728 pavers with the delivery. I asked Bill when can you get this done and he 3 weeks!!! 3 weeks. This was just a simple small walkway 4X51ft. You being a weekend warrior can get this done in less time. This is not rocket science. Just look at a few Utube videos. Do not use these ripoff guys that were referred to me by HomeAdvisor. So Bill just left, and I'm just sitting here in awe wondering why I even bothered to call this place. The receptionist took down my name and address, and Bill must've entered in a different address since our place is still under construction, so he shows up at the front door looking very irritated. Didn't get a hello, hi nice to meet you, or anything! Conversation was very awkward and forced it seemed like. We go outside and mentioned our budget and then get smirked at. I had already mentioned our budget to representative over the phone before someone showed up so not sure what the problem was, it shouldn't have been a surprise. He didn't even bother to work around budget either, just gave us one set price for yard and that was it. I didn't like his tone of voice and attitude from the minute I opened the door, very awkward encounter and very unprofessional. We originally had a contractor other than DAD Pacers do a wall in our backyard. What a BIG mistake that was! The original wall was not straight, not level, and was not stable. The wall could literally be pushed over by hand. Needless to say, I hated it! I searched high and low for a qualified contractor that would come to Chula Vista to fix the wall. DAD Pavers came out, gave us suggestions on how to fix the wall, and gave us a great price. They were able to reuse most of the existing materials we had. The crew was meticulous about their work, cleaned up after themselves each day, and even watered my plants! The new wall looks amazing and I couldn't be happier. Bill came out and did an estimate. He was very rude and unprofessional.... When asked what shape of area to quote for, he insulted my wife by calling her idea "boring." He was very pushy with wanting an answer of whether we wanted the job done. He assumed we didn't like his price when in all reality we didn't like his cocky attitude. He then tried to persuade us by saying "don't you want your friends to see something nice....nothing nice comes cheap." He continued on with subtle insult after insult. Bill may do nice work, but there are other companies that deserve our business, are professional, and can the job done. After we stopped watering our front & rear lawn due to water restrictions, we couldn't live with our yard anymore & got 3 bids to renovate after 20 years in our home. We found Bill, Daniel & crew from an ad in get 1 free magazine & Bill handled our bid with all the patience of a true pro, ultimately handling our job after coming in thousands below other bids. We "bought" as opposed to him "selling" which was refreshing. Bill followed up regularly on the job, sometimes kicking in physical time and effort out of a commitment to the end result, even tho slammed with other work. We never felt abandoned by our primary contact with DAD Pavers and that left an impression. The owner was on the job himself most days and that made us feel the commitment to good work as well, especially with how well he ran his professional crew. With a 1/2 acre of mostly dead lawn & weeds, it was a complete overhaul including pavers, sitting walls, artificial turf, a putting green, mulch and plants. The job started on time, finished on time on on budget with the entire crew both professional and knowledgable, leaving little hassle for us- a good thing since we had no experience in the area of landscape construction. We especially appreciated the mid job patience shown since we added along the way as we could see the progress & had extra ideas. This team reacted each time, helping us make sound decisions and speedily completing each part with great regard for us as homeowners trying to maintain a normal life during construction. Clean and professional! Strange to say it, but since the team was so polite and friendly, we were almost sorry when the job came to an end, since we wouldn't see our friends on a daily basis. We are grateful and now enjoy our yard each and every day. A great investment in lifestyle and future resale value. Very excited! Just signed my contract with Bill from DAD Pavers to complete Phase 3 of my backyard paving project. I couldn't afford to do everything at once so I had a long range plan for my backyard. I had another contractor complete my patio a couple of years ago after completing a smaller patio for me previously. I get bids every time I do any work on my home. This time I was lucky enough to get a referral from a friend at RCP Block. That is why I called DAD Pavers. The estimating experience was great. Bill is very friendly and was super helpful in determining what I wanted to get done in the yard. I shopped around and I know his pricing is fair (great price!) and I am very comfortable with my decision. I can't wait for work to begin and I can't express enough how friend and easy to do business with Bill has been. He arrived on time for the estimate and for the contract signing. That matters to me.
