I brought my vehicle to one of the "Big Box" commercial auto repair shops for an issue (my regular mechanic was closed for the day) and was told that the repair would cost a few thousand dollars. When I went to pick my car up, I was then told that it would actually require a smaller job, would cost only a few hundred dollars, but I would have to bring it to a shop 45 minutes away from where I live. I called my mechanic the next day as soon as he opened, but he was booked and wouldn't be available for about a week, so he recommended Dad & Mom Mufflers. I called and spoke to Brian, who told me he would look at it if I dropped it off and may be able to get to it that day, early the next day at the latest. I received a call from Betty 3 hours later and was told that they found the issue and they would be able to address it right away. The issue was much smaller than stated by the other shop. Took my daughter's beater 2006 Mitsubishi to Henry after her exhaust system kinda fell apart...Henry took care of the problems for a very reasonable price and in a very good time frame...dropped it off at 8...had it back by 3:30. D & M Discount Muffler Shop is a 'Hidden Gem'. Honesty goes a long way but unfortunately is rarely found...except here. I took my 2006 Toyota Highlander to the dealer who wanted to charge $1500 because a 'code' lit up on my dashboard, without even validating the code was accurate. I also took the car to NTB who said they saw 'something' leaking and it was the manifold(?). Henry and Brian took a, 'lets wait and see' approach to diagnose the true problem versus what a computer said. After a thorough examination, no leaks whatsoever were found and the code never appeared again on my dashboard. D&M were out to find what the cause of the code that was appearing first, not to make a buck. Henry and Brian were extremely honest and forthcoming with information and I do not see that anymore, anywhere. Though this place is not close to where I live, I will make it a point to drive the extra distance for the honest diagnosis and extremely fair pricing. If you need some work done on your car for a reasonable price, this is the place to go to. Unpretentious, get the job done, in a reasonable amount of time. Price I paid, was the same as I was quoted. Went there during the after effects of the snow storm, one guy managed to show up first thing in the morning, got the shop opened up took my car change my muffler in about 20 minutes. Did he have an appointment so he took me right away. Checked some other prices for future use, will definitely call them for any future repairs. read more

Henry and his team are exceptional. They do excellent work, fixing your car right the first time. They stand behind their work, and the parts they install. If a part fails, D&M will replace it under warranty. Their prices are extremely reasonable, and they won't pile on additional, unnecessary work to pad the bill. The quality of work is equal if not better than anywhere else you could go, however this is the first place I've ever taken my car to that I didn't feel would try and charge me for anything possible. He will do anything in his power to save you money. I first brought my car here a few years back, and haven't gone anywhere since. Still really happy with D&M after my second visit. I found this place after being completely screwed by shoddy work and warrantees that weren't honored at Merlin. I figured I'd try a local mom & pop shop and stumbled upon D&M Muffler and Brake. Funny because as it turns out the D&M actually is short for Dad & Mom. The shop is nothing to look at and the waiting room isn't what a corporate sales guy would approve for his big chain store that would charge you three times the price. But the value and quality at D&M are top notch. All I can say is this, the next time you need a service that you'd normally take to Merlin of Midas, try going to D&M instead. I second what Mike W. said about the owner, Henry, giving you options to save you money. It's really unusual these days. Give them a try once and I bet you'll go back the next time you need work done. read more

I have had two great experiences with this shop. I needed a muffler for a Durango and was going to install it myself. Autozone's price was $100 and with new clamps it would of been about $110. I'm glad I went to D&M because they quoted me only $120 even though I said the pipe between the converter & muffler may need to be replaced! They replaced that also and still only charged me $120. After that I brought it back for an emissions problem, they got it to pass and even took it in for the test! Henry's the owner and a honest guy to do business with. I really cannot review the shop's mechanical work, but the customer service is horrible. I called to get a quote on installing an aftermarket performance exhaust on my Dodge Charger. I spoke with Brian and was quoted 150, I was happy with the quote and asked about schedule a time to come in, was told just to call the day before. I call this past Thursday 2/15/18 to bring the car in first thing in the morning. A woman answers and asked what I want. I let know I want to see if I can get in first thing in the morning to have the exhaust installed. She asked my type of car, etc. and tells me to hold on. After being on hold several minutes comes back and says 300. I was a little taken back as that is a double the price and I already had a quote. I let her know I called about a week ago and was quoted 150. She gets all pissy and says."You should have told me you already got an estimate." The attitude coming from the way she said it took me back a little. I replied, that wasn't actually calling for a quote, but to see I could get the car in tomorrow, but was surprised how the quote doubled. She then asked who I spoke with before (with and attitude), let her know it was Brian. She asked if she could have one of the guys call me back. I said sure no problem and provided my cell number. That was over 48 hours ago and still no return call. read more
