The food here was absolutely delicious! I definitely would recommend to go check it out! We started off with the flavored lemonades; watermelon and mango, which were tasty and not overly sweet. It's definitely best to eat family style, we ordered a bunch of different plates and shared. Their butter chicken was exceptional! The mixed biryani was so flavorful and came with a yogurt sauce that was so good. I had never tried the madras curry before, but I'm glad I did because I'm definitely adding it to my list of favorite curries. The lamb vindaloo was good and tangy, but not my favorite dish. Our server was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was very cozy. Just a heads up we got everything medium spicy, and it was pretty spicy which I loved, but if you're not into spicy, I would recommend getting mild! The repurposed Las Flames Mexican restaurant is now an Indian established. We tried a couple of the flavored Naan breads, I think I'll settled for the traditional next time. I wanted to try goat, having heard it's praises on several food shows. I think the curry was the most flavorful of the three on the table and when I could find bits of meat, usually still attached to the bone, it was very good. It was disappointing to have so little actual meat in the midst of am the bone bits. The chicken vindaloo wasn't bad, if a bit dry. The veggie curry with chickpeas and dal was very tasty. Service was prompt and friendly. I like the interior design and the service ware is unlike anything I've seen before. Worth a visit. read more

A new find close to our neighborhood. Service was outstanding and prompt taking our order. The server was very attentive even though it was a busy night for her. We ordered Lamb Briani and Chicken Sag with a side of cauliflower Nan. Let's just say we had enough food for 4 people easily. The dishes were spicy and very tasty. I will order these entrees again. We have been to many Indian restaurants both in Orange County CA and Phoenix, AZ . I would say this restaurant is on par with what we have experienced. We will comeback again. The garlic naan was cold and stale. There's no way it was cooked fresh. We ordered Togo on a Friday night at 5:30 pm and I don't think anyone was in the restaurant. I hope the level of food quality remains as this new restaurant finds its groove serving its guests. Mild spicy was perfect for me wasn't to powerful and could taste the flavors of this dish. Best indian food in Vancouver! Been waiting for a spot like this. Try the Pani Puri - super delicious and fun appetizer. All of the Naan was fresh too. We had Palak Paneer and Lamb Vindaloo. The temperature was super hot, which is great because we like our food to come out steaming! Both dishes we got medium because we were unsure of the spice level. If you like spicy, actually order spicy! Medium was very mild here. Still super delicious and you can tell the spices they use are in perfect proportion. It's been hard to find a place with pani puri that tastes authentic but daawat did it right! Love how tangy the sauce is, most places make it too sweet. The butter chicken was also a favorite. We didn't care for the tikka masala which was surprising because it's my husbands favorite but the bell peppers threw us off. We were excited to try an Indian restaurant in the area we hadn't been to before, but what a disappointment. I honestly don't know how this place has any 5-star reviews. Every single dish we ordered was overwhelmingly salty--so much so that it was difficult to enjoy any of them. The biggest issue, however, was with the Haryali Kebab (chicken). The marinade was dyed a neon green-blue color that made the food look completely inedible. Natural marinades don't look electric blue, and it was so unappetizing that we couldn't bring ourselves to eat it. I even called the restaurant to explain that the dish was inedible, but the person who answered said he couldn't do anything and that the owner would call me back. That was five days ago, and I've never heard from anyone. If I had, I would have told them about the other salty dishes too and how disappointing it was to waste $91.72 on food we couldn't enjoy. Also, we ordered a Gajar Halwa and was told they were out, but they could not refund us because the owner wasn't there and had to pick something else from the menu - I did not want anything else but they could not refund my money for the item. Just had a delicious dinner with friends. After reading comments here we knew to order a little more heat than we would normally, so we went with #7 heat. It was perfect! We had Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer, Chicken Vindaloo and Goat Jalfrezi. We added coconut and garlic naan and some had a mango lassi. We enjoyed everything. The most unique thing was the coconut naan when wasn't sweet but the coconut complimented the curry's. So good! The building is an old Mexican restaurant and it shows, but who cares? Our server was really sweet and helpful. We grilled him about the spice levels and he was very gracious. The only down side, and the reason I give them 4 stars is that the meat was quite sparse in all the curries/ barely noticeable bough for each of us to have one or two bites. The baingan bharta was just okay, and the chicken vindaloo was very disappointing. It's supposed to be a spicy vinegar and tomato based sauce, but it was mild and made with coconut. I've never had Indian curry with coconut. I hate coconut milk, so I never would have ordered this had I known it was in there. And like I said, it wasn't spicy at all. First ever Indian food experience and can I just say wow?! That wouldn't do it anywhere near the justice it deserves. My bf and I came here on a rec from his dad, and this is by far one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten in my whole life. My bf has had Indian food many times around the world and would say it goes among the best of the best. We chose to eat outside in the nice weather. We got a medium spicy chicken tikka masala and medium spicy lamb vindaloo that melted our taste buds in the best way. We have a high spice tolerance and found it spicy but not overly so. If you're more sensitive to spice dial it back to mild or not spicy. I think if we went hot we might have gotten a challenge. Very homly but decadent styled restaurant at the same time if you can imagine that. The smells make it that much more amazing (drool). What a Surprise and hidden gem!!! we have tried most of the East Indian cuisine around Clark County (not many) and we were just not impressed at all. HOWEVER, I am here to say, this place is an excellent source of authentic East Indian Foods. The Lamb Biryani was incredible!! Lest we not forget the Vegetable Samosa - wow and the Ras Malai. We dined there when they first opened in Vancouver WA. The food was not enjoyable and the staff were unsure and slow. We dined there again a few days ago and I'm happy to say the food and service was much improved. Their Naan bread selections are very tasty and prepared correctly. I had a lamb dish and the meat was tender and flavorful. They prepare rice perfectly. The venue is a very old outdated former Mexican place but it was clean with new tables, booth and chair fabric. The plates and utensils are unique attractive and have some heft - not the too common cheap items in many mid level venues like this one. I recommend you give them a try. read more

The only good tasting Indian food by far not just in Vancouver and the surrounding Washington areas but Portland and the areas surrounding it as well. Coming from living in a place with tons of authentic Indian food I have been so sad living here. We had given up on any good Indian food being found here, that it was Americanized for the American palate and was just...wrong. One day we were so hungry and I found this new place, haven't looked back since. Everything we've had is great. Love their chilli paneer, butter paneer, tikka paneer! I think we would like the Gobi Manchurian more if they double fried it like really good is made, that really gives it a better crisp instead of ending up soggy but their sauce is good, closest to a fantastic Gobi sauce I've ever seen(can you tell Gobi Manchurian is my one of my all time favs?), wish they made it in a paneer version . We love it we just wish it had more crisp to it. They seem pretty consistent in their food quality which is great because some places aren't. We are used to Kanishka in Redmond, Dishoom and The Kati Roll company in London, Viceroy in NC (some of those have Michelin stars I believe or some sort of food award. All are perfection. I was craving Indian cuisine for years but never got to convince my wife to come try it until I heard about Daawat a Ishq from the "Dining in the Couve" Facebook group and decided to spontaneously take my wife on a date here and they did not disappoint! We had something easy for her to eat in Chicken Tikka Masala and I had the Lamb Masala with the garlic Naan alongside a Masala chai and everything hit the spot! From the deep layers of flavor in the masala to the nice chunks of meat in both dishes alongside the flavorful rice and naan that was cooked to nice flaky and buttery perfection in the tandoor. I have no idea why the ratings are this high. Went here on a date and had the butter chicken, tikka masala, and pani puri. The pani puri was served cold (?!) which was the first time I've ever had it served cold. Felt like maybe they forgot to heat up the potatoes. Then there was no distinguishable taste difference between the butter chicken or the tikka masala - despite ordering one to be mild and the other to be medium. My family and I used to regularly travel 30 minutes( each way) into Portland from Washington state to pick up food from the Oregon location. Yes , we used to pass all the other restaurants in Washington and have to navigate safely through the crazy city of potland to get to this hidden gem. These chefs/recipes are at par with the best of Vegas, South Cal, and Texas. The difference from other restaurants is that they take pride in their authenticity and their spices. They have never cut corners and they are always consistent , which is key. Trust me , there is nothing like this here in Washington. Late lunch on a weekday was so delightful. Amazingly lengthy menu made choosing dishes a challenge. We settled on Palak Paneer, Madras Chicken Curry, Chicken Korma, and garlic naan. Served with rice, all three selections were truly delicious. Staff was unfailingly polite, informative, and attentive. We had not been in the venue since it was Chico's Mexican restaurant, and the new owners are making every effort to change the vibe to match the new cuisine. According to our server, Indian beers will be available next week. We will be back. I have my eye on the Tandoori Mixed Grill, and anticipate enjoying a Kingfisher, Taj Mahal, or Flying Horse beer. I placed an order to go. We ordered the butter chicken, Lamb Vindaloo & Chicken Tikka Masala. All the meat was very, hard and "dry". Obviously they are in sauce so not dry but texturally they tasted like they have been cooking for days. In no way would I say the food was bad. It was just, basic. Kind of of like a panda for Indian food but 3 times the price. With all the options, I will not be back. read more
