Love that we have another local option for Indian, and one located in an area where I don't feel like delivery or take out is the safer option. We've been twice so far, each time the food was delicious. The menu is quite large with many options including vegan and varying spice levels. There's definitely something for everyone. If I had to give one critique it would be the slow'ish service. It can take a bit from start to finish so plan accordingly. I'm willing to overlook that and will continue to visit and recommend this location to family and friends. This is my second time here and the food is amazing! The seasoning is on point and the staff are very attentive and friendly. The restaurant has a cozy vibe that I really enjoy. The fresh herb and garlic naan paired perfectly with our curries, flavorful without being too garlicky. I had the Chicken Kadhai Masala and loved the vegetables and flavors. We also ordered the Kadai Paneer and the paneer cubes were great in the curry. Definitely coming back! read more

I went with 5 other friends for dinner at this newish Indian restaurant in SE Vancouver. We were greeted by a lovely server who was friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious! We've had a hard time finding good Indian food in Vancouver and I think we finally did! Our group ordered Pani Puri four our appetizer. The "tangy flavored water" was delicious and complimented the potato cubes and chickpeas inside the crispy round shell. We also ordered Butter Chicken which was excellent and Chettinad Masala and some spicy noodles. All were really flavorful and well spiced. The naan (we got 3 kinds) and mango lassis were a lively accompaniment to our meal. We will be back soon! read more

Gave Virasat a second try, and I must say my experience was 180 degrees in the proper direction. Service was not lagging this time and we ordered and received our meals in a timely manner. We each ordered the Chicken and Lamb Kebab platters which included well done Basmati rice, fresh Nan, hummus with green olives and a delicious side salad. We were both very satisfied with the presentation and tastiness our meals. I look forward to our next visit now. Perhaps our first visit experience was a fluke. Outstanding food and service. Very friendly atmosphere and helpful in ordering. There were 4 of us. We ordered their Platter full of meats, lamb, chicken, salmon, which came with Rice and Naan, a plate of veggies and hummus. Everything was delicious. An easy platter for 1 or 2 people. We also shared a Butter Chicken and Paneer Masala. Wow so flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend driving to Vancouver/Camas to dine here. It's next to Costco. read more

The food all had a lot of flavor, it wasn't bland watered down sauces like I have had at some other places claiming to be Indian food in this country. Very disappointed with uncooked Chicken meatballs - The restaurant was trying to hurry our order as we waited long and we asked that we pay for the appetizers and drinks if they have not started our dish, we want to cancel. They say it is coming out soon but our orders was wrong and told us to wait some more but we told them we are tired. They tried to rush our order and finally the food came. Well I have been here once and decided to return to see if they honored their traditional Thali plates. Last time I was here for lunch with a colleague. We paid for two sides of tzatziki, which cost us quite a bit more , since no thali plate was available. After talking to one of my friends, she said it was a tradition to have Thali plates but was just an additional cost. My husband and I decided that we would give it a try but when I asked, they said they do not offer that and it was blacked out of the menu. It would be nice for them to offer their traditional plates. Sadly, that deterred us away and we decided to try something different. We miss Abhiruchi. I will say if it does not matter to you as far as having the Thali plates, the food is still really good. I also do love that they have such a variety of Naan bread. read more

FINALLY! An incredibly good Indian restaurant in Vancouver! I was drawn to try it from the smell of spices that wafted out the door when a diner exited. I could smell the cloves, cardamom, cumin and I knew I had to try it. From the mango lassi to the samosas to the tandoori meats and butter chicken - delicious! Food- Excellent! Especially the sauces- not watery like also-run curry restaurants but thick and tasty! I asked for low salt and high spice and it came out perfect! Oh! I ordered the lamb shank. My wife ordered Chicken Koma and it was also great. The garlic Naan was fantastic! I will definitely return to this place. Service- they only had one server. Hard to criticize this as it is a new restaurant. Ambiance- everything is kept neat and clean with cultural music in the background. We walked in at 5 pm and they already had quite a few tables of customers. If they can keep up the food quality and maintain the price level, there will soon be a line waiting for tables! We went to Virasat today for the first time for snacks. We ordered masala chai, pani puri, and aloo tiki chaat. All items were excellent. The Gol Guppas were huge - you need a big mouth. Took our family and friends here tonight, everything was SO good we all shared. The naan was so pillowy some of the best we have eaten and we love good Indian food, just don't order the food spicy, it will be very spicy, medium is the way to go. Had lunch here and was very pleased...will definitely return. I had the Lunch Thali - meat option. Others in the party also had that, plus one had Chicken Tikka Masala - the quintessential British food! Garlic naan was delicious. We had noticed this place most recently while we were shopping. After reading some of the reviews we decided to give it a try. Shaba Dal Makhni was bland and not very creamy. I do have to post the disclaimer I have had Dishoom's black Dal and have never been the same since. With that said, I also ordered the Butter Chicken and my husband the Lamb Shank along with some garlic naan. Loved the Butter Chicken, Lamb was tough and not much flavor. Naan did not have any garlic flavor to it. Service was a little slow as others commented. Inside was okay very open and Indian music playing. Overall its was just okay, with the saving grace of the Butter Chicken. I did order a beer from the bar which was an after thought because it wasn't on the menu. Beer was warm and not cold as you would expect. We will give it another try as we all have a bad day. Hopefully it was an off day for them. Total cost was $83 without tip. read more
