**June 2022: Thursday Evening Visit** I have been pushing this review off, not because of anything negative regarding the restaurant (quite the contrary) - this is the best restaurant experience I have ever had IN MY LIFE and considering I've been yelping and blogging for over a decade that's saying something. The food here is just next level. Each dish was not only crafted so beautifully, but also tasted unique and distinct. Nothing was spicy per-say, but Chef Rafael is a genius when developing all multi-layered flavor profiles. There were 13 presentations of items (some with 1-3 distinct items within a round), so honestly I think I ate closer to 30 different dishes - each tasting incredible in their own way. The restaurant environment is simple and modern, but unlike some fine dining establishments I've visited they play 80s music and if you look closely enough there are ninja turtles figurines hidden in some of the decor. There's a story about why that's the case, but as an 80s baby I loved the nostalgia and the fact that while this restaurant serves Michelin grade entrees the atmosphere is casual and fun. *At the timing of this review they've already been awarded two Michelin stars (and are totally deserving of them) Based on my omakase experience I wholeheartedly believe that it is worth a flight out to see and experience Chef Rafael's masterpieces. And if I couldn't love Da Terra more Chef Rafael is the NICEST person ever, so incredibly humble and generous with his patrons. He came by our table to present the Romeo and Juliet dish, which I think really is a love letter to his passion, and I fangirled hard. lol He was super sweet and even took a photo with us at the end of our meal. When the meal concluded (four hours later lol), my friend and I tried to pick our favorite items and honestly everything was so delicious I couldn't decide, Additionally, I did not dislike a single item which 1) is very rare and 2) considering how many items they presented is really impressive. Put this restaurant on your bucketlist! I'm already trying to figure out when I can come back!

The flavors are the closest to the authentic Latin creations I grew up eating, yet also manage to add their own unique and delicious twists to make them pop even more. The ingredients are carefully selected, paired well, and cooked to perfection to make every dish unforgettable. For my first run, I tried the Seared Braised Beef with julienned crispy potatoes, which reminds me of the Lomo Saltado we do in California. The beef is tender and succulent, salty & flavorful, and topped with sliced roasted veggies. The crispy potatoes are amazing, too, but I wish there had been more. This is also the first restaurant I've been to in London that serves fried yuca (cassava) since I moved here... and that was more than 4 years ago. If you're hungry, get this as your side. Brownie points to them for using truffle oil to give them that little extra flair. The drinks don't disappoint, either. Their cocktails are utilizing "better" versions of Latin spirits (think Fair Quinoa Vodka), which means they're slightly pricier but also offer a more varied experience. The wine list is also plentiful, so pick your poison. Given the lively nature of its environment, it's definitely a restaurant for the social experience. However, reservations in advance are strongly recommended, whether you're coming alone or in a group. The ONLY downside I could find about this place was their complete lack of alternative milks. So, if you want something other than dairy to go with your tea or coffee, you're out of luck. In my case, I ended up opting for their Espressini cocktail with Fair Trade Coffee Liqueur instead. I know. What a sacrifice.

Our favorite dessert was the pumpkin flan. We may pass on the califlower and the churros next time. My drink was fabulous. Overall, had a great time, the staff were chatty and even kept the kitchen open for us to have dessert. The inside is modern, trendy, and clean. Highly, highly recommend if you're in town or live in London.
