Maybe it's my fault for not ordering sushi or a cocktail but I was underwhelmed. We had shumai for an appetizer and I don't know what it was but it was not shumai. My partner ate a few but overall said the texture and taste was weird. I ordered general Tso chicken and my partner ordered a sushi roll and chicken lo Mein. My general tso chicken was bland and super boring. I was really unimpressed. The lo mein was great! Really liked it. I did not try the sushi roll but was told it was good. Also the server was super either irritated or having a really bad day. I think the only time I was actually spoken to was when they said 'drinks?' For our drink order, and then 'any appetizers'. They also said some things under their breath that I though was aggressively unnecessary. Overall it was ok but I was really not happy with everything. read more

Ordered sashimi lunch and hibachi steak lunch. Both were excellent and very flavorful. My husband who has been to Japan and was stationed there, said the sashimi is very fresh. The portions are the perfect size: not too small not too large - just right! The service was very good. No complaints at all. Everything was done promptly and with a smile. The ambiance may not be for everyone, however I thought it was cute -some of the anime statues are life-size! Let me start off by saying it the food portions and quality of food was great. But when a family of four walk in and The host says, "give us a minute to clean off a table for you". And you look around and there's four clean tables. Now this was a Friday night and maybe they were trying to let the kitchen staff catch up I don't know. First time eating here, and I was blown away! Started with Miso soup and a seaweed salad, then had a la crate sushi: eel, mackerel, and toro with a spicy tuna roll. The toro was fantastic, probably the best I've had since moving to Fl 11 years ago. Service was quick, and the nigiri sushi was very large. Soups were included in lunch specials (clear mushroom and miso) and we enjoyed them both. The restaurant was very nice and spacious inside. Staff were friendly and efficient. 2 visits so far, 1st we were imopre4ssed, 2nd time - not so much; Seems so difficult to find a reliable sushi restaurant; Our server had a face on her and demeanor that screamed, "I hate my job and don't want to be here". I ordered the sushi & sashimi lunch which is a bargain @ $16 (see picture) - but the California roll is blah due to old and water-logged cucumber bits that are in the roll. you could see the clear color of the cucumber (water soaked and old). This threw off the taste of the roll - and a quality and "i don't care" issue w/ the sushi chef; The sushi & sashimi part was quite nice and cuts are generous; Soups (beware of the Miso, a bunch of green seaweed) and salad that come w/ lunch are the strong part - nice size and delicious; NOTE they charge .75 for a small side of sriracha sauce (I shaved that amount off the servers tip). Two TV's behind sushi bar - but they always have some soap opera on (nothing of interest to look at, staff too lazy to tune in something of interest) versus maybe Sports channel or News feed.
