We came here after having enjoyed a few ombras (that's locol for small glasses of wine we are so cultured, oh yeah) in a local bacaro. We stumbled over to look at the menu and thought, why not? It's right here, next to us, where we are currently standing and we are hungry. We sat outside under a canopy it was raining but we were sufficiently protected and it added to the general mood of sultryness and mystery that pervades Venice in the rain.
We had a pizza and a litre of wine and 2 tiramisu(s) which came to about 30 euros for two of us, including service and cover charge. Service was friendly and efficient, house wine was good value and very drinkable and the pizzas were perfectly adequate. The thing with pizza in Italy, and the same often goes for wine and ice cream even the rubbish ones are usually better than our best offerings. Not that the pizza was rubbish, I ate the whole thing and very much enjoyed it. The homemade tiramisu was delicious. read more
