There is a large outdoor area where you can sit and watch the sunset after an amazing meal. The restaurant itself is very beautifully decorated with white linen tablecloths. That being said it is not necessary to get all dressed up although it would be appropriate to do so if one wished. You may arrive by car or by boat as there are many slips along the side of the property. The food was fresh and well prepared. There were 12 of us and they were able to deliver excellent service for us all. We ordered a variety of food, from the octopus appetizer to salads, soups, whole grilled fish and even pork chops. All of the food was prepared perfectly. The menu is extensive so there will be something for everyone, with an especially large selection of fish and meat entrees and of course several pasta dishes to choose from. It is a bit out of the way, but if you do find yourself dining here you will certainly not be disappointed.

Next awkward experience on another day was when I asked the pizza baker to pre cut our take away pizzas so that we can enjoy them more easily on the beach (which btw is absolutely recommendable) he turned my inquiry down in a not so friendly way. And you can't order you take away via phone. You can only order it on site. However, they are fairly quick in working your order. It took less than 10min. Lasagne portion was huge but too soft and creamy and kind of boring in taste. Spaghetti came in at fair portions but only with few sauce and ragu. Taste was ok but not more. A word about implementation of COVID-19 safety measures. Disinfect dispensers were available. Waiters consequently wore masks but not all FFP2 masks. Social distancing not really possible or actions take to implement those, pretty crowded and tight at dinner time. No need to provide contact details for contact tracking when checking in. Not sure about the current rules in Italy but I had the impression this is mandatory. At least other restaurants asked for it. I found it hard to find a nice quiet spot on the Murano and Burano islands except on this small Mazzorbo island next to Burano, connected by a bridge The restaurant is one where locals escape to in their weekends. They hop on the boat, jump off at the Mazzorbo stop, have lunch and go back to Venice. It has a nice garden with tables both in the sun and in the shadow. They have a daily menu, but not the typical tourist menu, which is nice and really value for money. The food and wine is good, prices OK, coffee excellent, the location excellent.

Similar to taking a cruise, they have activities for kids and adults, ranging from live entertainment/music, to sporting events. This is our third annual family visit, and each time we are pleasantly surprised by upgrades. This place doesn't degrade over time, it only improves with age. Alvise Ballarin, the current owner/chef of this restaurant run by his family for the past 50 years, has wonderful passion and talent for dough-making and baking in different styles. We tried a newer creation on his thick yet very light-on-the-inside/crispy-on-the-outside crust topped with DOP tomatoes, mozzarella, turnip tops, anchovies, sundried tomatoes and basil. Magnifico!
