As soon as we had a room we tossed all our luggage inside and went for a walk. It was about 10pm local time and we were just crossing our fingers hoping to find a good Italian meal. Well our hotel is located on the mainland and unfortunately everything was closed. So we just walked around and while walking down what appeared to be a residential street heard music and stumbled across this hidden gem. It's cute, quite and quaint. The dining room is old world, the chef delivers his food to the table and happily describes his works of art exhausted, perspiring and out of breath, but proud and anxious. We only had a small plate of spaghetti and some wine but it was delicious! It was more than delicious it was the best spaghetti we have had. We ate, drank and talked into the night. The families dining around us ordered plate after plate after plate....... We soaked in the background noise of children and family speaking Italian.......laughing and having a splendid evening. I wish we were here a couple more days so we could go back. If your in the area don't pass this up!

We stayed in a nearby hotel after New Years for a few days and enjoyed the food so much that we ate there three times! We enjoyed exquisite Langhirano ham, delicious thin crust pizza (Italian pizza as it should be), osso bucco, seafood, pastas, soup, salad (even though it was not on the menu) and desserts. Our waiter gave us excellent recommendations for local wines to pair with our meals. The food is reasonably priced, and you know it is going to be good when you see the local police enjoying their meals at the restaurant. The restaurant is not on a main street but is only 5 minutes from the Rialto Bridge. This is the place for a delicious casual meal.

This is authentic, fresh made pasta, pizzas, and meats. Wine is excellent, select spritzes are always offered, and service is beyond kind. There is a patio to enjoy during the nicer months or for smoke breaks, and multiple rooms inside with two bathrooms. If you venture into Castello, head towards the FC arena, or just want to wander as a pseudo local, please stop by. You will not regret it.
