Great pizzas every time. Love the dough too, which is a must. Good quality toppings and generous amount.

From the moment we walked towards the restaurant the owner said hello and greeted us, the staff were very friendly and helped with menus and the specials of the day. Service is quite fast and the selection of food is wide and the wine list is well thought out, we had several meals and everyone was very impressed with the food, taste and presentation. I has the Duck Raghu and I was impressed with the taste, my partner had a pizza which smelt fantastic from the other end of the table, all the other meals were very good. Each meal came out one at a time, this is a bit different to other places but I feel that this is the case because each meal is made and plated up fresh the moment it leaves the kitchen. There is also a good selection of cakes here and coffee is quite good too, if you are in the area and feel like good Italian I would highly recommend Anthonys.

Their pasta is lovely and usually what I get and their coffee is always a winner. They are now open for breakfast which makes them even better! Location wise, it's not the greatest, being on the corner is Sudholz and Lower Portrush but their is generally ample parking unless the tile centre is having a car park sale!! All in all, a winning cafe which I highly recommend. It's nice to have something like this that's local and doesn't require a trip into town. Lastly, they are quite kid friendly and will do their best to accommodate strollers. There are several high chairs available.

The food was fairly tasty but the one big let down was the portion size of the mains. We ordered two different types of pasta and the portion sizes were what would pass as entrees in most Italian restaurants. Also the crab tagliatelle that we ordered was supposed to have chilli in it but there was no chilli obvious to the tastebuds nor the eye. One main concern was that they asked if we had the entertainment card during booking. Perhaps this was the reason for the small serving size? Do yourselves a favour and if you're asked the same question, say no (just in case). The dessert platter is a good one to try because for $22, it's a good way for 2 people to try a variety of desserts, although we couldn't get a spoon or fork through the meringue. Service was friendly and helpful at least! They also have an extensive wine list.

Bitterly disappointed by our dinner tonight. We had booked a table for two the night before, but…read morewhen we arrived there was no booking under our name. We ordered pasta, and although the menu promised the Carbonara sauce was made the "traditional" way (aka no cream), it was swimming in cream with no other flavour to it. The Bolognese was also very average. We were also charged an extra $2 for fettuccine instead of spaghetti. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but each time we required service we had to go ask for assistance, despite it claiming to provide a table service. Under our table were remnants of other diners food and waste - and although we saw staff cleaning elsewhere, they never came near us. The complimentary bread also appeared to have been complimentary to a previous diner (as the bread had sauce on it that wasn't in the basket). When we asked for containers to pack up our food (primarily so it wouldn't be recycled), we again had to ask repeatedly and were served our dessert while still waiting - despite there being no room on the table to place it and being expected to juggle everything on our own. The dessert we had were also below par. The Torte Dello Nonna's pastry was still raw. The Chocolate cake sponge was too light to support the cream and custard filling, so disintegrated when touched with a cake fork, while the custard and cream was so solid it cracked.

They catered well for our large group, bringing orders promptly and not messing any of them up. The decor is very Italian delicatessan slash cafe and is just lovely. There's a huge range of foodstuffs for sale to take home as well as fresh baked breads, salads, pastries, deserts, savouries and more. There's also a fantastic Italian Vespa on display inside. The French vanilla flat white coffee I had was quite possibly the best I've had in a VERY long time, and at $3.40, cheaper than a lot of other places. I also tried the almond tart which was impossible to resist, and I was not disappointed, it was incredibly delicious and not overly sweet, just right. Overall, this is a great place for a coffee and cake stop, or even a coffee stop. And while you're at it, grab some fresh bread or other things to take home! I'll definitely be back.

Is it a bakery? Is it a delicatessen? Well yes but it's also a cafe/pizza bar!…read more Some Sunday nights (check FB for more details: https://www.facebook.com/TheItalianPlace) they host pizza nights and for $25.00 (yes, twenty five dollars) you get to sit among the shelves of pasta, tomato pieces and every type of pickled vegetable and enjoy antipasto (freshly sliced from behind the counter), pizza (all you can eat), dessert and coffee/tea. The all you can eat pizza is an unusual concept because you don't have to finish the pizza to get a new one. We ate a half a seafood pizza before moving on to another and finished half of that and the leftovers were put in a box for us to bring home! You don't really order anything its more of a "get what you are given" scenario which is good for us indecisive people because you don't have to agonise over the menu trying to make a decision. Desserts are baked in house and the snowflake/hazelnut one we had was amazing but again they just bring out whatever dessert they want and you just enjoy. To top is all off the house wine is pretty cheap so a very inexpensive night out!

It was upon stepping into this modest looking deli with fluro lighting, 50s vinyl chairs and plastic tables, random cooking equipment scattered around and big, black and white pictures of beautiful Italians with "I love Napoli" written on them hanging on the wall that I felt like I had returned to a pizza shop from the mother land. Walk out through the kitchen to toilet at the back of the shop and you might trip on a bag of pizza flour on way but don't worry, the lino floors will protect your fall. Enough about the interior, that doesn't really matter. In traditional fashion, the star of the show is the hand made blackened pizza oven sitting in the middle of the shop serving up damn good WOG Pizza. We thought we'd be modest an just order one 12 inch Frutti di Mare (seafood) and a bottle of wine to share (funnily enough sipped out of those promo wine cups that you collect from various wine events and functions over the years). But after devouring this crispy based, sweet tomato sauce covered, melt in your mouth seafood pizza we decided we couldn't stop at one. The Truff Truff was next - a creamy, cheesy base of truffle oil, cheese, dried mediterranean herbs and more cheese. Forget manners, there's no forks or plates here and the owner really couldn't care less if you came in or not. He does what he loves and I think even if there were no customers in store he would be happy. 5/5 stars 18/12/2011…read more There must be something special about his pizza - because boy, this chef sure likes to have fun! He asked me what my major in University was (which was Psychology), and he jokingly replied, "So you've come to analyse me!" He made me smile with that one. And I noticed he jokes around with every customer and co-worker! But seriously, do they know how to make pizzas properly! (Awww...man this dough and meat is fresh and soft, not like the try-hard local stores who end up making it hard to eat!) If you're looking for a delicious and authentic Italian-made pizza with fresh dough and toppings that should be expected in Italian pizza, than you can take Salvatore's Slice of Italy's name, which is a genuine original Italian name, and turn it into "The Freshest and Softest Pizza in Adelaide" - especially after you wash a slice or two down with a couple of cans of soft drinks! The chef was so friendly, when I asked what the gorgeous photos on his wall came from, he told me stories of his trips overseas back home to the beautiful pristine islands of Italy, and all his cousins. He said his uncles from Italy were the ones who taught him how to make pizzas for life. I love immigrants who never forget where they came from, or apply what they learnt in their younger years to run a successful business or job for the rest of their life. Look for the colourful Italian flag colours of green, white and red at the front to guide your way. Anyway - just find this place. You will not be disappointed...There's even some other fascinating shops right next door!

Our table for four was booked for 12.30pm, and were were home by1.45pm so maybe that says something in itself. Upon our arrival the waiter could not find our allocated table number 71, and were were standing in front of many empty tables waiting for that to be sorted. He then turned up with our table number and swapped it with for a table with number 48. So we're sitting at the table with no menus and a different lady came up to take our order. She ran off to bring some menus when another lady brought us some. When the waitress came back and saw us with a menu each, she placed her four menus at the end of the table saying joyfully "you can have two each now". We had hardly had our menus when we were asked by another waitress what we would like to order and requested another couple of minutes. Another waitress (a different one again) took our order, and our predrinks were soon served followed by our shared entree of garlic pizza. Three of our mains arrived, and we had to wait for our son to receive his main meal of pizza and the time was ticking. Some of our empty plates were taken by another male waiter, and I asked whether we were supposed to get a bowl of sliced bread as we'd noticed other tables have it. The waiter did ask whether we wanted bread, and it really was too late as he had cleared my dishes. So another staff member (the guy on the till) came to take my son's pizza tray away, and took our table number away. We were never asked if we wanted more drinks, nor later offered the dessert menu or asked whether we wanted coffee. After waiting waiting waiting we decided to leave so I went to pay the bill. I was not told what we had to verify the total, and as it seemed like the right amount. I spoke of my displeasure in the lack of service, and he asked whether we wanted coffees but it was far too late as the boys were ready to go. I stated that we'd be unlikely to return and he said we must come back to try. There is no incentive to return.
