O M G ! - pizza perfection does exist Fabulous friendly staff, great service. Pizza chef is a genius ! The suroundings are quirky, reused, recyled and repurposed decor, just love it ! Will definitely be back again and again

As a local, I have been counting down the days, hours and minutes until Lost in a Forest open it's doors. Finally, it was time. First tip, be sure to call in advance. This place will be very popular very fast! So, bookings are a must! Taras and Amber from Ochota Barrels have long been the Rockstars of the wine world in the Adelaide Hills. In fact, so much so that Mick Jagger made a special request to visit the couple's home to try their wines. I have been a massive fan of Ochota wine for a while now. There is something special about it. It is confident, experimental and an honest drop. I fell head over heels when I first tried their Grenache. So, it is very exciting to see them partner up with local Charlie Lawrence and Chef Nick Filsell (former head chef at Jamie's Italian and Red Ochre Grill) to open a restaurant where I can buy by the glass directly from the maker. Set up in an old church (a great use of space), the restaurant offers around 6-8 tables downstairs & a private dining area upstairs. What a lovely set up with a long table made from the original front door and pews. A great space to host a relaxed celebration. Feel free to drop into this restaurant for a glass of vino if you do not have a booking. You are welcome to drink at the bar if there is space. As for the wine selection, well... it is what you imagined. Only the best! So, for the wine lovers out there, pop this restaurant on your bucket list. Pizza, pizza, pizza... I love a restaurant that chooses one thing, and they do it REALLY well. That is how I feel about the pizzas I tried this weekend. They weren't just good, they were so delicious! I ordered the Banh Mi Pizza (because that is just genius in itself) and the Fig & Cheese Pizza for dessert. First up, Banh Mi Pizza. Bang on! The base was thin, crispy, held its weight and well oiled. The toppings just worked so well. Pickled veg, same as what you would find on a Banh Mi, roast pulled pork, cut up chunks of crackling and a siracha mayo (FTW). It's food like this that makes you want to high five the closest person next to you. The Fig & Cheese was just like finishing your meal with a cheese platter on a pizza. Vanilla poached pears swimming in melted blue cheese, mascarpone, and fig syrup. Oh yes! Order some red to go with this one folks. Actually, you could just totally order this for dinner. It does not have to be for dessert. Very good indeed. The service here is tentative and friendly. What you would expect from a restaurant like this one. But, with some hills charm and pride for sharing some impressive local produce. Nothing but smiles here! What else can I say? I am glad I live around the corner. It's a great thing to see Uraidla finally coming back to life!

I didn't think I was allowed in churches anymore after my innumerable gluttonous sins, but it seems the stars aligned on a perfect summer day where some rosé, a couple of bloody delicious pizzas and my tumtum were meant to meet. Lost in a forest has been a whisper on the wind amongst my circle if acquaintances for a while. nestled away in the quaint but surprisingly active little Township of Uraidla in the Adelaide Hills, only a stones throw from the freeway and city and seemingly a world away from any sort of hustle n bustle. The lunch atmoshpere is great with the sun out, and the wine flowing. We had the banh mi pizza and the buzz bomb. both delicious and filling too! the wine is more pricey than some other places but worth it cos it's super tasty. all in all we had a delightful time getting lost in a forest and hopefully when we find our way back we will come and get lost again soon! Thanks for having us gang! Note from the wife: This place is whimsical...even the bathrooms are whimsical!

Amazing! - The whole experience... from walking into the garden, through the big doors and being sat at a quaint recycled table with wild looking flowers. The service was prompt and casual, gin and wine menu really impressed us. Our highlight was obviously the pizza ! I could literally eat that base everyday for the rest of my life looking forward to our return visit

Square slice is big rip-off, too small for one adult meal and very ordinary flavour. It's not pizza it's a focaccia, and it's not wood oven.

I've come here a couple of times because it's the only cafe close to my grandparents house. This cafe is gorgeous, well decorated and cozy. The lady owner and her younger crew are nice enough, there isn't a whole lot of one-on-one experience with them as they continuously pump out coffees, milkshakes, soup and cake! The impression I got from my outings here suggested it was a pleasant half-way stop, where people simply walked in with their family during Fleurieu Peninsula travels. Now, I've had a fair few milkshakes in my time, but these are the most amazingly frosty and tasty milkshakes ever! They're not like your typical Wendy's teenager who will sparingly give just enough chocolate topping to stop it tasting like plain milk. Anyway, the food. We shared two servings of fresh scones with jam and cream, all of which was fantastic. The scones were freshly baked (still warm) and they weren't frugal on the amount of jam and cream either (big pet peeve of mine). There really isn't a lot in little old Yankalilla, but every time I visit my grandparents I want to go back! A big thumbs up for this little cafe!

Unfortunately for Crafer's Pizza, they're located across the road from Jimmies, a gourmet pizza restaurant. This means that they stick to the tried and true method of alright pizza at a pretty good price. My favourite thing about Crafer's Pizza is that they deliver late into the night. I've had the odd study session when I was living up in the hills where cramming got so intense I forgot to eat and didn't have the time to cook. The bread sold here is really fresh, crisp and fluffy. It is more of a French style of cooking bread. It is really lovely! They sell pre-made baguettes for lunch trade that look amazing. I have yet to try one, but there is always a line at lunch. Apart from the bread, I have tried their pizzas a couple of times. The toppings offered are not complicated. A few ingredients is all that is needed. I feel for this store it is more about the base than what is on top of it. The base is cooked really well. Nice thickness and it is crispier than other bases I have had. If you want more on your pizza you have the option of adding more toppings. As for the desserts, they are divine. The pastries are perfection and fillings deliciously naughty. Perfect for a treat for the weekend. A lovely couple own this store and are very welcoming and happy to help. According to my sources, Chris Broadfoot trained under famous French Chef Paul Bocuse and therefore knows what he's doing. When you enter the shop, you are usually greeted by Chris' partner Nancy who is lovely and very accommodating. As I've only been there at night I haven't seen everything that they offer, but what I have seen is great bread, pastries, and savoury and sweet tarts. Chris is always behind the counter preparing some baked good and getting it ready to go into the wood oven at the back corner of the shop and dresses like a traditional French baker. The pizzas are fairly minimal, but you can add extra toppings. They are a bit pricey, as is most of his products, but they are the highest quality and I always enjoy everything I buy from Woodbake.

That's not suggesting Melbourne food is better then Adelaide rather I had no idea where the best spots are in my new home town. Pizza was a category that I tried and tried many a places but never found the right fit. Before Speranza opened I was going to Pedros around the corner from this place which is ok but not great (6/10). Back on Speranza The wood fire pizzas are great and staff very friendly. Pricing is at the high end but it's genuine wood fire pizza so you need to expect that. I highly recommend the belissima and "the lot" (supreme). I would personally stay away from chicken as I found the chicken breast to be dry however please don't let this put you off this great little place. The shop itself does have some basic seating however I would recommend it is better suited to take away. Overall I rate 5 stars (9/10) over 20 odd visits.

I always prefer seeing sliced or shredded chicken on a pizza, rather than chicken cubes (probably the result of working for a takeaway pizza franchise during my teenage years). The pizza bases were quite thick the first time we purchased from this place but much thinner last time. They don't do your standard garlic bread (ie garlic buttered baguette), which disappointed a couple of my friends. When we picked up our pizzas and went to pay by credit card we were asked to pay with cash and had to walk to the ATM (their credit card facilities weren't down - they just wanted cash payment). Not bad but definitely room for improvement.

It was upon stepping into this modest looking deli with fluro lighting, 50s vinyl chairs and plastic tables, random cooking equipment scattered around and big, black and white pictures of beautiful Italians with "I love Napoli" written on them hanging on the wall that I felt like I had returned to a pizza shop from the mother land. Walk out through the kitchen to toilet at the back of the shop and you might trip on a bag of pizza flour on way but don't worry, the lino floors will protect your fall. Enough about the interior, that doesn't really matter. In traditional fashion, the star of the show is the hand made blackened pizza oven sitting in the middle of the shop serving up damn good WOG Pizza. We thought we'd be modest an just order one 12 inch Frutti di Mare (seafood) and a bottle of wine to share (funnily enough sipped out of those promo wine cups that you collect from various wine events and functions over the years). But after devouring this crispy based, sweet tomato sauce covered, melt in your mouth seafood pizza we decided we couldn't stop at one. The Truff Truff was next - a creamy, cheesy base of truffle oil, cheese, dried mediterranean herbs and more cheese. Forget manners, there's no forks or plates here and the owner really couldn't care less if you came in or not.
