    Scaloppine con funghi

Came in late and even though kitchen was closing soon the server was very nice and got me a table and was attentive and food came fast. I got the gnocchi sorrentina and scaloppine ai funghi. Gnocchi were good, meat needed a little salt but still tasty. Looked like a local spot. Recommend

Saw the ratings here on another app and decided I needed to try it. Was overly ambitious and ordered a spaghetti carbonara and pizza with prosciutto and mushrooms. The server graciously took the order and suggested I eat the pizza first which is the norm. Later, he checked on me and asked if I was too full for the large portion of spaghetti carbonara--he was right. "Not master chef portions here" he joked indeed! Chef di Franco came out frequently to greet his guests. He was even having dinner when we first arrived at opening time. Our server gave us the restaurant business card and invited us to call to make a reservation as he is fully booked for lunch and dinner. The pizza had a simple, delicious crust that was chewy on the inside. Well executed, unpretentious food.

It is a somewhat small, cozy place that gets full by locals at peak hours, and that is a good sign and reason. Food is flavorful, with great portions, and the service is flawless. Alanza is a Rockstar friendly, professional, and helpful fun! Great location and in a nice walking area close to many hotels. You can call in advance and find out how busy it is and / or place an order for food.

First meal in Italy and it was the best meal of my life. This little joint is a family run restaurant with tons of authentic charm. They were very accommodating since we can't speak or read Italian, the daughter spoke enough English to explain a few dishes and made sure we were happy - the whole family, including the chef took the time to greet us. About to head back to Da Franco to try their fire oven pizza.

Incredible black gnocchi with seafood bolognese.

Delicious pasta and pizza, and the service was amazing! The house focaccia was hot, crispy, and very good.

Here's everything you need to know about this place!…read more Location - located on the pedestian area of Corso Como. Seating - both indoor and outdoor Menu - varied with options for vegetarians; including salads, soup, pasta, and of course pizza. This was my favorite pizza in Italy as I prefer the thick fluffy crust instead of the thin, soggy crust that you get most places. It also serves the pizzas by the slice in three sizes - half (for margherita only), regular, and extra large. I ordered the soup which was delicious and a half slice of margherita and could barely finish it. Everyone liked what they ordered, including the calamari with prawns. Pricing - very good compared to other restaurants. We were surprised at the prices given the quality and the amount of food. Service - in general, the service industry folk in Milan do not speak as much English as they do in other cities in Italy (like Rome, Florence, Sorrento, etc). They typically find the one server who does speak English and assign him/her to your table. That's what they did for us here, and we appreciated the effort. There were times we had to point to items on the menu (which is in English and Italian) so he knew what we wanted but he was very attentive and friendly. Tip - get there early in the evening as the place gets packed. Had we arrived by 7:30pm, we would have had to wait for a table for six.

Also, there was a bit of a weight when we got there, but it actually grew to almost a dozen people. They see people quickly so the turnover is pretty fast and you don't wait long. Since I was concerned about limited menu, those fears were allayed when the Waiter takes your order - he lets you know about the four or five other ones that are not on the menu that are all sounding great So we picked 'chef special' (they pick for you) and a white pizza. The service was pretty quick, and the pizza comes out right away Obviously with such high turnover, they have figured out the formula for delicious pizza. They nailed the crust as well as all the ingredients. Really delicious. The toilet facilities definitely need a lot of help. That was my only real comment about the atmosphere. It's very basic, you sit at basic tables. They seemed to all be helpful

The chef's surprise was a salami and burrata pizza, and it was top notch. We also had the Delicata Bianca, which was beautifully balanced. They even went above and beyond to do a half and half pizza for each of us! (See pics) Some of the Italian craft beers surprised us, and we also got a few liqueur shots on the house! Nikola/Nichola was absolutely fantastic: super attentive, friendly, and radiated joy. I also found out he was a fellow Sri Lankan, and we had a good laugh about it. The folks sitting next to us were also super friendly, so we had a great time all around. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Milan :)
