Certainly a must when in Mestre. Since there is a lot of choice in Venice is the opposite in Mestre. But this little 30 places gem is so good. Maria handled the 25+ customers on her own. She is certainly the best waitress we have seen in the last 10 years of traveling together. The food is awesome and so tasty we came back the second night for another great experience. You will not regret it.

I found Da Carla on Yelp after another restaurant we planned for dinner let us know they don't have a table available in the evening. I was very excited when I discovered their 4-1/2 stars reviews on Yelp! But we are so disappointed! The walk from our hotel to Da Carla is about half an hour. Not too bad! We are seated inside the second dining room with about five or six tables. They let us take two tables at the end of the dining room. Those are four-person tables. They added one more chair at the end of one of the tables. We are nine people altogether. We are the only two tables in there for the rest of the night! The owner took our orders, and he wasn't very friendly. He went away a few times when we had questions about the dishes. We also ordered some wines after the pasta was ordered. Some appetizer dishes before the main dishes were ordered too! The owner recommended their house wine. I'll recommend you don't get it. It was a low-quality wine. Don't waste your money! The pasta also takes a long time to prepare. Not good either! None of my friends are satisfied with their meals. Sorry! I'll skips this restaurant next time when I'm in Venice!

Very much a "local" spot in the midst of airport hotel district. We LOVED mussels and carpaccio app, pesto spaghetti and black ink spaghetti. The house white did not disappoint.

This small mom and pop restaurant has a homie feeling. The owner is very charming and welcoming. I definitely recommend the food! Come and support. They make all food to overder. They added pepper into my meat ball plate. I will probably come again if I'm near by! Sooo good!!!

Best restaurant in Venice! We loved it so much we came here twice. The owner is the best and is so kind. The spaghetti with meatballs and amatriciana pastas are AMAZING! You've gotta come try this place!

Fantastic experience here. The husband runs front of house and welcomed us into the restaurant when he noticed us reading the menu posted outside. Service was engaging, attentive, and fun. And all of the food we ordered was delicious, prepared by the wife, Carla, who runs back of house. All of the other patrons looked to be having similar experiences. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an enjoyable, authentic dinner. Molto bene!

I had the best gnocchi here!! We enjoy everything we ordered! Highly recommend if your in this area!!

Polenta with plenty of truffles. Yum!

Kind and wonderful staff. Pleasant conversations and happy to have you in. Finished dinner well past their closing time, but they didn't bother to rush us. Would definitely go back another time.

The service here was super friendly and welcoming and made us feel like we were dining at a local's home! After starting with a basket of bread, we had the Spaghetti Frutti di Mare, made of spaghetti in tomato sauce, topped with mussels, clams, squid, fish, and prawns. While tasty, the tomato sauce was overwhelming in flavor and the pasta slightly overcooked. I was a much bigger fan of the Antipasto di Pesce, a plate that came with an assortment of seafood appetizers including octopus salad, two white fish spreads, a sardine topped with onions, two head-on shrimps, two mantis shrimps (canoce), a mussel and scallop baked with Parmesan and bread crumbs, and polenta topped with schie (little shrimps). We also had the Grigliata Mista di Pesce, a plate of mixed grilled seafood including a shrimp, a squid, and three different types of fish. All the seafood was fresh and delicious, though I was especially partial to the head-on shrimps and the white fish spreads!

Blues and jazz play softly in the background while our waiter goes over the menu (which by the way is loaded with delicious options) she's very sweet and speaks English very well, which made our order a bit easier, as my Italian is non così buono (not so good) We ordered the octopus carpaccio, baked clams, and the gnocchi with smoked duck breast as starters to share. We also ordered the beef bone steak with vegetables. Every single dish left us excited for the next. Not one item was over cooked, or under spiced. Perfectly cooked is all I experienced. I would recommend this place over and over again!!! The service was excellent, friendly and were patient with our lack of Italian ;) Seating: both outside and indoor Ambiance: casual to date night classy ( we were backpacking Europe, even had our backpacks on and were welcomed in as if we were can't Cleanliness: very clean Reservations: not required Bring your appetite and be ready to try some delicious Italian dishes. I had the mushroom and prosciutto pizza. It was very good and better than what I had in Venice. The service was super friendly and the atmosphere was modern and clean. Additionally, I walked there from my hotel (which is located in a business/industrial park only a quarter mile away). It was dusk when I walked there; but fully dark when I was done eating. The street lights along the path back to the hotel don't work, and the area is desolate at night. A creepy guy in a van followed me and started catcalling me; so I ran back to the restaurant and tried to get an Uber since I was by myself. There were no Uber's in the area so I asked the owners of the restaurant to call me a cab. The male owner did not speak English, but his wife did. They insisted on driving me back to my hotel! They felt sorry for me and were so nice. I am very grateful for their hospitality....they went way beyond the call of duty!
