No hard alcohol, just beer, cider, wine, seltzers. Prices were incredibly affordable - four drinks after tip was only $25! The beer garden area is chaotic and I mean this in the best way. Exactly the type of beer garden I wanna see at a dive. There was a ton of space out there too! The ONLY gripe we had was that the smell of the fryer was extremely overwhelming. The parking lot was completely full, so after circling around and eventually finding street parking, we figured the place must be popular. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the high point of the experience. The main restaurant was fairly full, so we were seated in a large, dark bar area in the back. And then... nothing happened. For more than 30 minutes. Eventually, a waiter appeared and took our order. Then another 30+ minutes passed before the food arrived. Somehow, even our iced tea didn't make it to the table until the food did. All told, we spent roughly an hour sitting at an empty table without so much as a beverage, and about 90 minutes from the time we arrived until we actually had food in front of us. At that point, the whole experience was becoming almost comical. We ordered a cod burger with fries, a Caesar salad, onion rings and an iced tea. The cod burger was okay. Nothing memorable, but edible. The Caesar salad was actually good. The fries, however, arrived cold, soggy and thoroughly greasy -- quite an accomplishment considering how long we waited for them. The onion rings apparently embarked on a separate journey altogether, because they never arrived. By then, we'd lost the will to ask about them and just gave up. The grand total for one cod burger with cold fries, a small Caesar salad and an iced tea? $40.00! We mentioned the long wait, forgotten food and other problems to our waiter. He was sympathetic and explained that they were short staffed, which we understand can make things difficult. But being short staffed doesn't make a 90-minute lunch, no drinks for an hour, cold soggy fries and forgotten food any less disappointing -- especially at those prices. By the end, we weren't even angry. The whole thing had crossed over into comedy. Needless to say, on future drives between Oregon and Seattle, we'll be finding a different midway lunch stop.

There was a lot of meat and plenty of dressing, hubby said very tasty,too - however, the meat was cold on the inside and it was a Dark Rye instead of Marble Rye, and the bread slices were very small and thin; suggest getting a larger slice Marble Rye and make it as a 9" sandwich. Drinks and chips are offered at a seperate price. Parking is very limited, and The building needs some work. The eating area is small but okay, the tables were mainly a waiting area for take out, but for those of us who did eat in, the tables were not wiped down once while we were there, and the floor needed a desperate sweep. The wait was a bit long but they were very busy (a very good sign) take out orders are many, and for the most part only 1 person dedicated to making sandwiches. Suggestions: You're busy! Hire more people to make sandwiches and Dedicate someone to the register and taking care of the lobby area, clearing tables, sweeping etc. Honestly, the concept is ideal, and the food is great and can only get better with time. We both ordered the turkey sandwich: piled with turkey, lettuce and cranberry sauce-nice and light on the mayo. Terri had the soup special-definitely homemade and I had the tater tots-crispy crisp on the outside. (I definitely have enough for dinner tonight.) The desserts looked yummy, so of course we indulged-our eyes were bigger than our appetites, so they too went into a take home box. I asked our waitress if they had carrot cake-my ultimate favorite-that humongous slice came home and is waiting for a special event. Now after all this, the couple next to us paid our check when they left. I can't begin to tell you what that meant to Terri and me. We had been talking about the high cost of groceries and how so many are struggling right now just to put food on the table. Terri and her husband, Ken, shop for their local food pantry weekly. I always carry a $25 Visa gift card to help someone when I'm shopping. So, this next week when I'm grocery shopping I'll carry a couple of Visa cards to play it forward for my lunch.
