My goal is to see if resistance and weight training will improve bone density going forward. Eric lives nearby and seemed like the perfect solution. He's knowledgeable, accommodating, and easy to talk to. We've only been at this for six weeks, but I'm very happy with the program so far.

I was delighted to find a local trainer here in Arlington Heights who was not only willing but eager to help me learn how to make fitness a regular part of my life. I've loved working with Eric for the past year. He focuses on functional fitness and helps me train across different exercises and disciplines. This includes traditional weight training, but also kettlebell, cardio, combined strength exercises, and even yoga. Eric has even helped me get my diet under control, reviewing my eating habits and helping me find healthier alternatives. I am in better shape than ever before, but thanks to Eric I've made fitness a regular part of my life. I went from someone who could be winded by two flights of stairs to running my first-ever half-marathon, something that would have seemed crazy to the old me. Throughout it all, Eric has been a kind and patient guide. I'm grateful to have found him.

Great little gym…read more Everyone has different workout routines and styles, so what you look for in a gym will be different from person to person. Here's the highlights to help you choose. It's a chain, but not a big one like XSport or Lifetime. So, if you want a big chain gym where you can travel and go to any gym this may not be for you. I know they have several locations but mostly in the Chicago Northwest suburbs. It's not very big, but they have a really good selection of machines and equipment. They don't have big locker rooms, hot tubs, pools, or exercise rooms for classes. I don't need any of that, so I'm glad they don't have it. The focus here is on working out. Even though the big gyms are probably double or triple the size of Fitness 19, they always seem so packed and you have to wait for the machine you want. Fitness 19 is good because you don't bump into people or have to wait a long time to get on the machine you want. With that said, I'll say this isn't a muscle head gym either. I used to work out at XSport, and there were always muscle heads that obviously took something to enhance their muscle growth. Good atmosphere. Everyone seems to be in a decent mood. Perhaps since it's a small gym there are a lot of people living around the area that go here. A lot of people seem to know each other and have a good time. Lastly, it's pretty reasonable for price. I believe I got started with a deal that was either $11 or $12 per month, but I paid for my year in full / advance, and got a further discount. You really can't beat the price and quality of this gym.

She is very focused on her job which is to give the client the best training session possible based on their needs and abilities that particular day. Jenny is always on time, and gently coaxes my mom to do more and work harder while being very cognizant of my mom's limitations (which can change from session to session) and making sure my mom does not get injured. Jenny is also very open to suggestions on modifying the training sessions based on updated goals. She is a great communicator and very kind to my mother as well. Jenny has trained my mom's caregivers to do specific exercises on the other four days of the week so that my mom can continue to increase her strength, balance and ability to walk for longer and longer stretches on her own without assistance. My mom's physical abilities and strength have improved since having Jenny as her trainer. We had another trainer for several years however Jenny has been much better at achieving positive results for my mom. We highly recommend Jenny as a personal fitness trainer!

But with the cold weather, exercising outside had become a miserable experience. I decided to try out a few sessions with Jenny hoping that our time together would give me some inspiration. I soon realized that training with Jenny was a life changing experience! For the first time ever, I'm actually excited to workout! The sessions are always incredibly enjoyable and rewarding. Not only is she great at her job, she is also one of the kindest, most generous people you'll ever meet. Jenny genuinely cares about you and will do everything she can to help you accomplish your fitness goals. I can't imagine going on this journey with anyone other than Jenny. I recommend her 100%. One session with her and you'll be hooked---I guarantee it!

I've been to five (and counting) boxes since EAD, and this one is the best by a long shot. The programming is peerless. You can't go anywhere else and find such a diverse array - WODs, power lifting, rowing, boot camps. Additionally, their programming is well thought out. You can go every day of the week, and you won't get bored or burn out a muscle group. The coaches are fantastic and take a real interest in your personal goals. They all preach technique. Several of the coaches compete in events. It makes a real difference to have that kind of knowledge available to you. It's like learning how to cook from a master chef. They're also constantly learning and staying at the forefront of programming techniques and nutrition. Rather than being stuck in a certain training mentality, they evolve with the sport and the science. I've recommended this box to everyone I know who lives in the area, and I've even gotten a couple of my friends to join. It's been said that the strongest recommendation of a service is a referral. I'm more than happy to refer EAD over and over again.

The facility packs a lot of unique equipment in a small space. The computerized resistance machines provide a personalized program that is extremely challenging. The effort is measured in both directions. For example, a chest press measures effort in the push out and also resisting the weight returning to the start position. Micheal is focused on proper form and safety, while still pushing for maximum benefit. During this last session he measured my improvement from the first session and I've had a significant improvement in strength. I never would have thought it was possible to acheive that much change in eight 20 minute sessions. I'm not sure that I will continue with the program primarily from a cost & location perspective. However, I would strongly recommend this program for anyone looking to improve their strength and overall fitness, regardless of your age or previous experience.
