Quick info: Small classes All women, age 18 and up No drama Pole dancing focus Other dance/fitness classes Drop-in's okay for certain classes Affordable The main focus is on pole dancing classes but this studio is not just limited to pole dancers. They offer other classes for dance and physical fitness, such as Flex Appeal (flexibility) and At The Barre (adult beginner ballet). They allow drop-in's for certain classes that are affordable, in case you want to try a class that's not pole dancing and don't want to commit to buying a whole class session up front. They also offer a virtual "punch card" online so you can try different classes. There's no drama here: the students and instructors are women aged 18 and up. All shapes, sizes, and fitness levels come here. No one is too big or too old. The classes are small and the instructors can decrease or increase the challenge of the class for your own personal needs. I like that I am encouraged to strive to be better but am not pressured to keep up with the girl next to me. Everyone's goals, needs, and abilities are different.

I started taking the classes to support Andrea (a fellow mom and member of the community), but quickly fell in love with the Barre 3 concept. The instructors are welcoming to people of all fitness levels. They provide coaching on how to increase or decrease the intensity of each component of the class, to best fit your needs (whether it be overall ability or your needs for just that day). They gently encourage you to push your limits, and support you along the way. They teach mindfulness through each movement, and incorporate stretching between the various components of the class. For me, this has meant that the recovery time after class is quick and I am able to take multiple classes in a week. I definitely feel a difference in my strength, flexibility and stamina. Andrea and her amazing team have been there every step of the way.

I rekindled my relationship with OrangeTheory because I was working on a project for my part-time job at the time that involved drawing their signature splat point over and over again so I took that as a sign to give it a try again. The workouts are great and I appreciate the science that goes into the daily workout design so I don't have to spend time figuring out what to do and when. The overall studio culture is pretty okay now--I appreciate the effort that goes into trying to promote member's small businesses, the service projects for the community, etc. You pick your "spot" for the day when you arrive and check in so it eliminated my biggest issue when I left which was people telling me I was on their treadmill. The equipment is kept up to date and clean, but sometimes I feel this studio is behind on updates compared to other ones in the area. Overall, I am grateful for having a studio close to home because it helps me keep a routine and start my day off strong!
