I've been to five (and counting) boxes since EAD, and this one is the best by a long shot. The programming is peerless. You can't go anywhere else and find such a diverse array - WODs, power lifting, rowing, boot camps. Additionally, their programming is well thought out. You can go every day of the week, and you won't get bored or burn out a muscle group. The coaches are fantastic and take a real interest in your personal goals. They all preach technique. Several of the coaches compete in events. It makes a real difference to have that kind of knowledge available to you. It's like learning how to cook from a master chef. They're also constantly learning and staying at the forefront of programming techniques and nutrition. Rather than being stuck in a certain training mentality, they evolve with the sport and the science. I've recommended this box to everyone I know who lives in the area, and I've even gotten a couple of my friends to join. It's been said that the strongest recommendation of a service is a referral. Since then I am no longer destroyed after my sessions, but know that I have had a good workout. Jim, the owner and my trainer has been cool and flexible with my schedule and has provided just the right amount of motivation without making things unpleasant. The price is a bit expensive, but you are paying for good equipment in a convenient location, and one-on-one time with a professional. When I am there, the gym is not crowded and the music has been good. Try it out - as far as I know, the $100 for 8 1 hour personal training sessions is still going.

Only issue i have is when you sign up for the $9.99 a month plan, they don't tell you or market up front that there is a $2 electronic payment fee which then ups your monthly to $12 a month . Since they got you right there filling it out , we all know we're not just going to say no cause of two bucks. we came to the gym to sign up. it's like a little trap. And you can't tell me they do that else where cause i've never been charged an extra fee to pay my bill auto pay .

Great little gym…read more Everyone has different workout routines and styles, so what you look for in a gym will be different from person to person. Here's the highlights to help you choose. It's a chain, but not a big one like XSport or Lifetime. So, if you want a big chain gym where you can travel and go to any gym this may not be for you. I know they have several locations but mostly in the Chicago Northwest suburbs. It's not very big, but they have a really good selection of machines and equipment. They don't have big locker rooms, hot tubs, pools, or exercise rooms for classes. I don't need any of that, so I'm glad they don't have it. The focus here is on working out. Even though the big gyms are probably double or triple the size of Fitness 19, they always seem so packed and you have to wait for the machine you want. Fitness 19 is good because you don't bump into people or have to wait a long time to get on the machine you want. With that said, I'll say this isn't a muscle head gym either. I used to work out at XSport, and there were always muscle heads that obviously took something to enhance their muscle growth. Good atmosphere. Everyone seems to be in a decent mood. Perhaps since it's a small gym there are a lot of people living around the area that go here. A lot of people seem to know each other and have a good time. Lastly, it's pretty reasonable for price. I believe I got started with a deal that was either $11 or $12 per month, but I paid for my year in full / advance, and got a further discount. You really can't beat the price and quality of this gym.
