First of all the ambiance isn't as bright and cheery and it was cold to eat inside. I get it that most people come here to take out, but your restaurant should be comfortable to sit and eat in. Service was indifferent. They didn't really act happy that we were coming in. Place has the usual Jamaican food - curries, jerk meat, rice and peas etc. I ordered the curried goat. So the flavaour of the curry was good but they were really skimpy on the meat and they put on too much peas and rice which was dry. My friend had the jerk chicken but she left most of her rice as well. Prices were high for the amount of meat you have. I will have to try another Jamaican restaurant in the area to compare. I don't think I will be coming back here.

I've been meaning to try this place out for quite some time now. Tuesday jerk chicken special. $9.99? Hell yeah. The dining area is pretty bare but it's clean, bright and the green wallpaper hints at sunny pastures. The TV was playing Ellen and I liked when they turned up the chill Jamaican music. Good vibez. The menu only had three main items (along with two soups) to choose from. Talk about making life easy for the indecisive. Make sure to order at the counter. They'll bring the food out to you once it's ready. The lady working was friendly and sweet even though she was the only one manning the front. She brought us waters and checked on us a to make sure we were good. - Beef patty ($3.50) - this came out a couple minutes after our mains as it was being reheated. Just average in my books. There was a bit of heat to the beef mixture but the meat was lacking in flavour and the patty itself could have been flakier. - Jerk chicken ($10.50) - $9.99 Tuesday jerk chicken special! You get four pieces along with a solid portion of rice and peas. The jerk chicken was smoky, grilled, and well seasoned. - Coleslaw - a side of is included with your meal. I found the sauce slathered on a little too much for my taste buds. - Goat curry and oxtail combo platter ($20.00) - we wanted to try out their other two meat offerings. The goat and oxtail were both excellent, but the oxtail was killer good. Succulent, perfectly cooked, the oxtail had a great bite to it that's hard to describe. If you've ate good oxtail, you'll know what I'm trying to get it. Another solid addition to the west end area. If you're craving some Jamaican home cooking, come here.

Delicious. They have delicious plates. I tried the curry chickpeas and it comes with two types of salad, rice, beans, and plantain. The plantain was by far the best. They also have lovely soursap drinks that they bring in from St. Lucia! Amazing! I am so happy we had a chance to try this little spot. The owners are lovely too. We chatted for a while and it was nice to just chat with someone after the pandemic. I'll be recommending this place to others and will be back. :) All the vegetarian patties were out though so we might try to swing by again to try some.

Today happened to be their last day before the owner takes a well deserved break, and they'll reopen on January 13. We were hungry and fortunately it was nice enough to sit outside although uncomfortable. Very limited menu. They had a white board of what they were out of more than what they had. We were here for Feed the Soul 10 dollar week, so luckily they had these things available. We had the stewed beef with rice and coleslaw and the Saturday special the chicken pelau. Both came with a small side of coleslaw. The stewed beef was delicous - Marinated in traditional green seasoning The beef is then browned using the traditional burning of sugar method which creates a unique flavour combination. It was really tasty but I am sure my husband wanted more beef. The coleslaw was creamy, crisp, and fresh. The chicken pelau was delicous. It was wonderfully spiced and hearty. Owner (a couple) has a stand at Old Strathcona Famers' Market that is selling Caribbean hot sauce style but they opened up a Caribbean food stand in addition to their hot sauce stand. So far I have tried 2 different dishes; Ackee & Saltfish and Oxtail Stew. Both dishes were really good. It was my first time to try Ackee. Quite interesting fruit but it was good. Ackee is a fruit of the Sapindaceae soapberry family, as are the lychee and the longan. Since I grew up with saltfish, it was lovely to have it again after so long I didn't have it. The oxtail was so flavourful and tender. The rice that company the oxtail was really yummy.
