She brought us waters and checked on us a to make sure we were good. - Beef patty ($3.50) - this came out a couple minutes after our mains as it was being reheated. Just average in my books. There was a bit of heat to the beef mixture but the meat was lacking in flavour and the patty itself could have been flakier. - Jerk chicken ($10.50) - $9.99 Tuesday jerk chicken special! You get four pieces along with a solid portion of rice and peas. The jerk chicken was smoky, grilled, and well seasoned. - Coleslaw - a side of is included with your meal. I found the sauce slathered on a little too much for my taste buds. - Goat curry and oxtail combo platter ($20.00) - we wanted to try out their other two meat offerings. It's very close to our house too. I had the jerk chicken dinner and it was awesome. The portion was huge and I was full afterwards. Perfectly spicy and generally delicious. The rice was a wonderful accompaniment too. Probably the best jerk chicken I've had in a while. I didn't try my girlfriend's vegetable curry, but she seemed to really like it. The oxtail stew had a hint of pimento (all spice) which is very common to be used in Jamaican cooking. All I can say, Beaverly cooked the foods from her heart. My photos don't capture how vibrant and welcoming it truly feels. I ordered the snapper fish meal and it was excellent -- fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. Today happened to be their last day before the owner takes a well deserved break, and they'll reopen on January 13. When he returns, the dine in area is fully set up with new furniture, ready for people to sit down and enjoy the food in this beautiful space. Saffron is a gem in the Stadium neighbourhood -- authentic, community minded, and full of heart. I'm grateful I finally stepped inside, and I'm already looking forward to returning when they reopen.

I don't even like sweet potoato fries but I agree with these ones. Server was great. He made sure our drinks are topped up and to see how we are doing. Ambiance is great especially if you love 50s diner places, and we totally love the music. Great place to be at any time, but one time I will have to come on a Sunday and see what their wings are about.
