Unfortunately I picked the week before school started and the place was very busy. However I waited, and when called back the pre exam was a pleasant experience. The tech offered me a exam that is out of pocket but you get screened for just about every eye disorder possible without having your eyes dialated! Then you go back into the lobby after the picture screening and wait for the eye doctor to examine you. The doctor was great made the suggested recommendations for glasses and it was over. Then you go to get fitted for the glasses you have chosen. My glasses will take 10 days before they are ready. Be prepared to pay extra if you go with designer options. I'll return whenever I need another exam. Great service and very professional!

It started to go downhill when I went back for the exam. It was a question around dilation. Typically they tell you that you can pay a fee to keep you from getting your eyes dilated and takes less time. I was prepped for it. We got to the machine and she said every perk but the fact that to use the machine would be an additional cost. I finally just asked what the difference was and she went back to explaining the process. I cut her off and I asked what the price difference was and she finally said $25. Shady at best. I told her next time she should probably lead with that.

Customer service, empathy or concern for actually following their own established policies seems to be selective. At the very minimum the staff is rude and biased. At the horrendously worst they are racially judgmental. Speaking very calm I was told that I was getting loud and angry. Immediately I was told that no longer discussion was warranted and that I needed to talk to the office manager due to my "heated and loud" demeanor. I deal in conflict management daily at my job and even informed the clerk that I was displeased at the situation, but that a disagreeing perspective does not equate to loud or even angry in tone. I have had mixed experiences with the staff during my 15 plus years of treatment, but have never been treated like this. There generally has been a feeling of greater than thou or elitism instead of an everyone is welcome attitude. I at first equated that to having government insurance. I now have exceptional corporate insurance and treatment was not any different. I would have left and went elsewhere a long time ago if not for the care I received from my doctor. Dr. Woodruff has always been incredibly kind and caring. However, I will not be stereotyped. I am the very last to bring classism, race or any other type of prejudiced accusations into a situation unjustly but today's experience was putrid. To the office's credit, I could have been seen and dealt with the attitudes if I myself had been to my appointment exactly on time or early. That is on me. I fully take that responsibility. Oh well. I may make a BBB complaint as well but there are plenty other eyecare facilities. My treatment will have to be postponed for another month or so and I am thankful it wasn't excessively, medically urgent. Except for possibly picking up my records; I will NOT be back her again. Arrived early and all was on time! Had multi focal lens put in and follow up showed need for "tweaking", which went well. Each time my doctor called me that evening to check on me!
