Two awesome doctors. Taustine Eye Center is now called Kentucky Eye Care on the first floor. When it was Taustine Eye Center I used to see Robert Williams & then Greg Sulkowski when Williams retired. Williams was the best doctor. Sulkowski moved to another eye center office. I really missed this office and haven't been able to connect with another doctor outside this office since Williams. But recently I got to return to this office and got to see Dr Nandini Menon. I think I have found my new eye doctor. She took the time to explain everything and very knowledgable. The front desk has always been friendly over the phone or in-person during the many years I've called or visited. My appointment times have always been kept and they always pull me back quickly when I arrive. Good locations in Louisville available in mideast-north off Eastern Pkwy and also in the South area. They deal with a variety of eye chronic issues, glasses, and regular eye exams, depending on which doctor you are seen by.

Two weeks later my call was returned to hear yes glasses can be picked up! The following week I take the two hour trip to pick up my mom's glasses! I arrived during normal business hours! The Optical shop at Medical Arts building was closed! Two returned calls later I was unable to pick up mothers glasses!. From beginning to end of this event the Optican demonstrated a lack of respect toward my mother, was unreliable and generally gave poor service! My mom has been a patient of Dr. Hurt's office since before it was his office. Dr. Hurt your optican needs to do better.

I recently paid a visit to Dr. Cassol on the recommendation of my optometrist and primary care…read morephysician. At my (exact age to not be revealed), they said it's a good idea to have them checked for cataracts. Once contact it was only a couple of weeks before my appointment. Being one that likes early appointments, I selected 8am and arrived about 7:45 and I was lucky that they let me in (it was, like, seriously cold outside). After a bit of paperwork I was taken into an intake room of sorts where of the staff members (Caitlin?) took some information and dilated my eyes. Having your eyes dilated is not a pleasant thing, but I knew it was going to happen. Drops in the eyes and about 10 minutes later I was seeing colours I'd never seen before....and then they start shining REALLY BRIGHT light into your eyes. It is, at once, the most brilliant light you've ever seen as well as the some of the most painful. (it made sense in my mind). After they're done visually torturing your eyes you're taken to a very nice little waiting area before you see Dr. Cassol. The waiting area has some comfortable chairs, a coffee maker, and a small refrigerator with small bottles of water. It's also nicely decorate and not over-done. There's a television, as well. I didn't wait very long (maybe 10 minutes) before I was taken back to see the good doctor. Dr. Cassol reviewed the results of the tests that the previous eye-torturers did and asked a few questions. He took the time to understand why I was there and looked into my eyes again. After a brief exam he said that everything look well and that my eyes tested at 20/15 (better than I had anticipated) and said he'd see me back in two years. For an 8:00 a.m. appointment, this went very well and I was out the door before 9:00 a.m. I wish all my appointments went so smoothly! All of the staff were friendly and professional, Dr Cassol's expertise showed through, and the facility is very laid back and relaxed. My first visit to Cassol Eye was a great experience. See you again in two years!

I have 25yrs of medical experience on the floor and Dr office settlings. We would NEVER tell our patients, its their responsibility to get us fax numbers. We would also inform the patient, there is a charge to even receive the prescription as they are checking out. Not tell them they didnt owe anything, and they were faxing the prescription over now. After waiting an Hour at the eye glass DRs, thats when we were told they never received a fax. It took 6 DAYS and me calling the office manager to get this corrected, or i thought it was. Called back this morning, only to be told by the same girl once again she was out all week. which she is not. Today I went in for my annual checkup and I saw someone whose name I don't even remember. There was no advance warning that I would no longer see Dr. Kumar. I felt like I was going to one of the optometrist at a discount eyeglass store. Not what I want at my age. These places expect loyalty from their patients, yet they extend none. Sigh. Looks like I'm in the market for a good opthamologist.
