We requested it look "foresty" since our wedding was in Redwood National Park and she absolutely nailed it. She took so much stress off of me by basically designing it herself. She even helped me understand how to store it and serve it for the best taste. She truly is amazing and I would get my wedding cake from her again if I had to do it all over again. I called the owner, Rachel, and left a voicemail. She promptly returned my call and I placed an order for next day delivery. I decided to order a dozen of the Strawberry Shortcake flavor. And the reason I only gave it three was it's so incredibly dated. I've been coming here for years and years. Like. Y E A R S ..yall got the same decor. Same super dated cupcake liners. I don't mind paying $6 bucks a cupcake if the liner is a high end dark brown craft paper. White is so cheap. that dates you. Badly. Another thing ..yoir Chocolate cupcake needs help. Too sweet. Not enough depth. Add some dark or black cocoa..bloom in coffee maybe? Salt? It def needs some help. Keeping it the same dates you as well. Your vanilla is perfection. The choc not so much. Wish you had love doctor on more. It would do well. And bring back Hawaiian honeymoon. W out the nuts it will keep your price point down. No one wants that texture contrast anyway. And lastly pls for the love of all things cupcakeries, get rid of that 1990's pink and black contrast. Just no. Again. Totally worth the money if you know what to get (steer more vanilla cupcake) and these are just my opinions. Every time I'm in KC I get a dozen..ugly pink walls and everything xx

I will say upfront this is a really pretty cake, custom covered in a reproduction of a painting I…read moredid and my artist signature. That's the reason I gave 2 stars and not just 1. My good friend ordered me a custom birthday cake from this bakery. When he went to pick it up, it was not decorated to what he asked for (it was supposed to have additional icing detail on the sides and adornments on top). I cut into it and it looks good but the cake layers are uneven/thin, icing layers are thick in ratio to the cake and the sugar paper wasn't adhered well (wavy). The icing is overly sweet and the white cake was supposed to be wedding white but it's a buttermilk white. It's tangy, tastes off and the blue icing had so much color it has that dye aftertaste. The cake is pretty but it's not good. I don't know what my friend paid for it but I am guessing it was pricey because it was custom. I love supporting local but not if it's a poor product. I would think twice before buying a custom cake here.

We had to spruce it up a lot on our own. The person there when I picked it up was brash. I had to sign a piece of paper saying I agreed that it looked fine?! Note: This is from some time ago, so perhaps things have changed…read more I have just visited once, at the Farmers' Market downtown. Their goods have a simple, but lovely, appearance and presentation. The cupcakes are individually wrapped, which seems a bit silly, but it's nice at the market if you aren't going to eat right away, and certainly is nice if you want to pick up a little treat for someone. I was a bit disappointed in the size of cupcake; the cake itself was fairly small, and overall was almost half-icing. I had a Maple Black Walnut cupcake. The black walnut stood out more flavor-wise, and was good. The cream cheese frosting was unexpected, but went decently well with the cake (I admit I'm not a huge fan of cream cheese frosting), though there was definitely too much for me. The ingredients are conveniently listed on the back of each wrapper, and it is nice to note that most are organic. This jives well being at the Farmers' Market.
