When he went to pick it up, it was not decorated to what he asked for (it was supposed to have additional icing detail on the sides and adornments on top). I cut into it and it looks good but the cake layers are uneven/thin, icing layers are thick in ratio to the cake and the sugar paper wasn't adhered well (wavy). The icing is overly sweet and the white cake was supposed to be wedding white but it's a buttermilk white. It's tangy, tastes off and the blue icing had so much color it has that dye aftertaste. The cake is pretty but it's not good. I don't know what my friend paid for it but I am guessing it was pricey because it was custom. I love supporting local but not if it's a poor product. I would think twice before buying a custom cake here.

They are always eager to help you. About two summers ago I was out front of their store eyeing a set of patio furniture. The manager just happened to be out there rearranging the last set they had left and asked if he could be of assistance. I asked him about the price and if he could work with me since summer was almost over. He realized I was an older woman and he wanted to help me so he gave me a nice discount... and since I lived so close to the store he delivered the set to my home personally. He didn't have to do that, and I was thankful. Today I was shopping in their aisles online phone app and was having difficulty getting through the process that I've completed numerous times over the years without issue. It kept changing the delivery times and kept kicking me out. I ended up having to phone the store, and I spoke with the service person at the Aisles Online desk. His name was Colton, if I recall correctly. I just want it known how very pleasant, helpful, and professional he was. He took care of my issues and walked me through the actual website order process - patiently... which I rarely use to shop with (I'm used to using the phone app). He took matters into his own hands and assured me they would shop my order personally and see to it that we had our groceries delivered expeditiously. He even told me he'd fix the extra delivery charge that was charged to me due to the app not functioning properly, and kept changing my delivery window 3 times! I was very impressed with this young man. I'd say he's a real asset to that Hyvee location. I'll assume he has to be a manager, and if not, he really should be!!! They've got a real gem in that young man, and hopefully they recognize that fact and have placed him where he's of the most benefit to their firm. I also use the pharmacy at this store as well, and have always had a pleasant experience with their representatives. No complaints! I believe your experience with people in the customer service field in general have everything to do with how you approach them for aid. I asked for a cup to put my overflow ice cream in from the waffle cone that was melting while having to stand there while she faked attempting to be doing something. I thought it was an interview of some sort, but then they started small talking and obviously knew each other outside of a professional setting. Avoid this place at all cost. While I was waiting around a woman arrived asking for a dairy free option, the girl behind the counter said she did not know if they had one, and offered "sugar free". I walked over and pointed out the dairy free option to the woman who came in. I don't work there, but standing there for 10 minutes I was more versed in the produce than their paid employees. Absolute train wreck of a business. I ended up driving frantically to Hyvee to grab last minute cakes as opposed to having nothing. This was supposed to be a too tier dessert treat for a special occasion. What a profound disappointment.
