I've shopped at this Hyvee location almost exclusively for over 6 years now. I love this location as I've always had great experiences with their employees and management. They are always eager to help you. About two summers ago I was out front of their store eyeing a set of patio furniture. The manager just happened to be out there rearranging the last set they had left and asked if he could be of assistance. I asked him about the price and if he could work with me since summer was almost over. He realized I was an older woman and he wanted to help me so he gave me a nice discount... and since I lived so close to the store he delivered the set to my home personally. He didn't have to do that, and I was thankful. Today I was shopping in their aisles online phone app and was having difficulty getting through the process that I've completed numerous times over the years without issue. It kept changing the delivery times and kept kicking me out. I ended up having to phone the store, and I spoke with the service person at the Aisles Online desk. His name was Colton, if I recall correctly. I just want it known how very pleasant, helpful, and professional he was. He took care of my issues and walked me through the actual website order process - patiently... which I rarely use to shop with (I'm used to using the phone app). He took matters into his own hands and assured me they would shop my order personally and see to it that we had our groceries delivered expeditiously. He even told me he'd fix the extra delivery charge that was charged to me due to the app not functioning properly, and kept changing my delivery window 3 times! I was very impressed with this young man. I'd say he's a real asset to that Hyvee location. I'll assume he has to be a manager, and if not, he really should be!!! They've got a real gem in that young man, and hopefully they recognize that fact and have placed him where he's of the most benefit to their firm. I also use the pharmacy at this store as well, and have always had a pleasant experience with their representatives. No complaints! I believe your experience with people in the customer service field in general have everything to do with how you approach them for aid. I certainly couldn't do their jobs... not everyone possesses a spirit of kindness and understanding as second nature. But imagine what this world would be like if they did!!! read more

Hy-Vee, I'm torn. I'm giving 5 stars because overall, I'm really pleased with the quality of food, the pharmacy, the deli, and your grocery staff are just awesome! Where I'm torn is the self check out. I find that the employees don't really trust the customers to know what they are doing. Despite a lack of formal training video session, I can still ring up produce and regular purchases with ease. The problem comes if I slow down to get my app up on my phone, or if I'm slow to get my payment card out of my wallet. The self check out supervisor will be 2 inches from me asking all sorts of irrelevant questions. I'm fine with them stating one time: welcome to Hy-Vee, let me know if I can help! But the micromanaging needs to be curbed. Are you worried about me ringing up oranges instead of apples! Or are just fully assuming that I'm stealing from you? I get it! Times are hard, and you are watching the bottom line, but please understand that we as customers are not walking in to your store for the purpose of stealing! We are people just like you! We want to ring up our groceries and get home. I find the Blue Springs location is the worst for this!!! I actually avoid HyVee if at all possible. Another issue I have is the store layout right near the check stands. There's no room! There are tons of displays, stacked food items, and tables with cookies and other bakery items. I had a bad experience with the meat Department. They don't know what they're doing and they like to accuse the customer of not knowing when or how to place an order. They don't cut the meat right and they don't train their staff to do it right. When I complained, I was made promises but when it came time to get the corrected order, HyVee management didn't believe me when I repeated what the manager, who took my complaint, promised. If you EVER have a complaint and the manager makes you promises, you need to get that in WRITING because no one there, not the meat manager, not the store manager, no one will believe you. They will embarrass you, correct you, train you on how to order meat the way they want it ordered. I spend about $250 a week on groceries at this HyVee. That's $13K a year. So HyVee...keep your $200 and I'll take my $13K elsewhere. read more

Hy-Vee is my last choice of grocery stores to go to in Blue Springs/ Grain Valley. Do they have a selection, yes. What I've found is, there is almost always some kind of an issue online ordering. Twice forgotten items-which was rectified. What I WILL NOT purchase from Hy-Vee ever again is the MEAT!!! 3 times buying chicken from this store it was NOT EDIBLE!! the chicken had been fully cooked all 3 times but the texture was still crunchy-enough to turn anyones stomach! I use the Hy Vee pharmacy and am generally satisfied with the accuracy of their prescription service. My problem is with delivery. I had a delivery scheduled for today. I found that I needed to leave my home by one o'clock. The delivery person hadn't come yet, so I called the pharmacy around 12:30 to see if he was nearby. I was told that they had no way to contact him and couldn't help me. Apparently, cell phone service has not yet found its way to Hy Vee. read more

I never really shopped et Hy-Vee too much. Probably because there were other stores around. If I needed something super specific, I would go to Sun Fresh when I lived North of the River. Lately, I've been catching the deals at Hy-Vee and have been really liking their products. They have freshly baked French baguettes which I used to make meatball subs with. The bread held up so well and the price was really good. I like that I can find things there that other stores should have but don't. That's always been a mystery to me is how does one store have this item but another store that's similar or claims to be "better" doesn't (Here's looking at you Wally). Their deals on meat are nice and I can always find what I'm looking for plus things I didn't know I was looking for. Lol I like that it's not far and I can get in and out even if I have a large list of items. Oh and the fuel perks seems nice. This location is pretty amazing! The staff here is top notch, always friendly, and helpful! I thought I would let everyone know about some convenient provisions there. The post office is open to 9pm, even on Sunday, not just to drop off, but actually for shipping. Of course sometimes you may need a beverage while on the go. Well they have a great selection of cold beverages. I am also impressed with the bakery. They make beautiful little desserts that would make a sweet surprise for your better half! This Hy-Vee has never got their self together on the isles online. I think after 2 1/2 years of this I'd learned by now. Nope, but I think the last straw was broken today! I'd ordered last minute things to be delivered, as I have Covid. I ordered a slider tray for today also. I called this morning to see if they'd add my slider tray to delivery. Girl said, no problem. Delivery was suppose to be from11-12. They texted saying it would be late, I understand that. Then about 1, a text came saying my order was cancelled. Now the good part. This Hy-Vee is our go to for groceries. They're always having a good sale on top of our fuel saver. My husband loves their Caribou coffee inside, their bakery makes awesome cakes and their meat and produce is always great quality. Marketplace is a fantastic place for dinner and they have a little bit of everything so it's awesome for a one stop shop. Although if you don't want to get out this hyvee is also great for grocery delivery! If you order over $100 it's free delivery and the drivers are always so kind and helpful. read more

100% clutch work from both the seafood department and the deli department today. I was left stranded from another restaurant who I worked with earlier this week to line up platters for my Chiefs watch party, only to be told 2 hours prior that they could not fulfill my request, the details of this failure still remain sketchy at this point. In a pinch I thought, let me see what HyVee can do. I received AMAZING customer service from the deli and seafood departments, both of which said typically an order of my request would take at least a day's notice. Fair enough, but I was in a pinch - 20 people coming to my house in a few hours and no food to provide. Without hesitation both departments answered the bell and got me set up for my party when another restaurant left me in the dust. I've been here a few times over the past few months. The bottom line is that the food is better than the service. When it's busy, the service seems to be chaotic, but that's something that is fixable. The only problem that I've had here was on the occasion that I went for lunch and told the server that I was ordering the California burger from the lunch menu. When I got the bill, I had been charged the dinner price which was $4 more. They fixed it promptly once I pointed it out to them. The burgers are pretty good and are better than most comparably priced restaurants. The California burger is excellent. I think this may be the biggest Hy-vee I've been to. Its got a weird layout compared to the Hy-vee's in Independence. Still on the search for a regular grocery store to fine the Beyond Meat burgers because WF is a drive... I'm pretty sure they have it. There was two mylars and they had the chicken grilled strips, but they were out of the other product (which I believe was the burgers). So I'll check back. This Hy-vee is very nice and open compared to the other two I frequent. And compared to Independence, this one has a Caribou Coffee rather a Starbucks. I've heard Caribou is better, but never had it. I like the store over all, but don't have much of a reason to go out of my way to shop this particular location. read more

Holy Hell! This store did a turn around! I was just in this store a few months ago, blah and dreary, boring and dirty. I'm partial to the Raytown Hy-Vee and the 40 Highway Hy-vee, which are top notch. I happened to be in Blue Springs today, and stepped in to this Hy-vee to grab a few items. I love, absolutely LOVE how they have separated the aisles. I was looking for spaghetti sauce, and instead of an aisle with Mexican, Chinese, and Italian food labeled "ethnic food", I found one aisle marked, "Tacos, Salsa, tortillas", and one aisle marked, "Chinese," and then Italian." There was no doubt where the spaghetti sauce was located. I even found super long exotic pasta, I didn't buy it, but it's there. In the baking aisle, it's clearly marked, "Flour, baking, cake mixes." in the paper plate aisle, instead of marked, "Paperware," it's marked, "Paper Plates, napkins." I found plastic bags in the "plastic bags" aisle, instead of looking for aisle upon aisle for the damn Ziploc bags. I had a bit of a time figuring out where the rug cleaner was, but I looked for the aisle sign clearly marked, "floor cleaners, detergent, dish soap." This is the best Hy-vee for finding things and getting around. Also, there's a separate liquor area, no wine in plain site. The liquor area is complete and large. The floors are clean and shiny. This store is small compared to others, think 23rd street Hy-Vee but way cleaner and one of the best organized Hy-Vee's I've visited. I like big large, complex stores, but this location doesn't warrant a huge space. Visiting here makes me want to suggest the clearly marked aisles at my 2 favorite stores. You certainly have no question as to where anything is in the store. If I lived in Blue Springs, I'd shop here all the time. read more

Took me a little while to get waited on then the woman (that looked to be some sort of assistant manager who wasn't a new employee) who eventually greeted me acted like she didn't know that she could add fuel saver points from another store to my account. Dr sent in prescription for a 90 days worth of 4 meds on Wednesday. I went on Thursday and my main med was not in the order. We called and they said they'd order it Thursday for Friday morning. Went Friday and they only had 3 days worth. Would not tell us what day it was actually ordered. It seems that 3 day supply was most likely what was on shelf. I'm sure they could look and see what day it was ordered if any, but said they couldn't. So it most likely wasn't ordered Wednesday nor Thursday and then we were lied to about it. Now I have to go out of town for 3 weeks for work without my main meds. Poor service. read more

This is by far my favorite Hy-Vee in KC. It is huge! They have a great produce department with a nice variety of organic and hard to find fruits & vegetables. I love that they have such a wide variety of hard to find spices and sauces as well. Their ethnic food department is quite expansive compared to other grocery stores in the area. Which is good for me because I love to cook! Their organic and natural food selection is HUGE! They have everything from lotions and soaps to snacks and frozen foods. I also saw that they sell pretzel dough in this area!! I don't think I've seen that for sale anywhere! They have a huge meat department and they are willing do do special orders for you if you just ask. The employees are always super nice and friendly. All n all this location gets my vote for best Hy-Vee in KC!! read more

This is our regular grocery store, and aside from the fact that it seems to always be incredibly busy, I love the store. Their produce is great, and they offer a large selection. I've always been impressed with their meats and they have a great variety of deli meats and cheeses. I also really enjoy their health food section. The employees are generally very helpful, and the store is always well staffed. All that said, what led me to leave a review was my experience with the bakery last week. I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday and it was beautiful! The woman who took my order was friendly and answered my questions thoroughly. The cake was finished when I asked for it to be, and the woman who helped me at pick up was also prompt and friendly. I will recommend this bakery to friends and family. read more

We've been long-time customers here and just recently tried their new online ordering service. Have to say that it's fantastic and a wonderful time saver. If you find that you're not a big fan of going down the aisles, you can shop in the comfort of your own home, pay and just tell them when you want to come by and have it delivered to your car.
