I love this place! I didn't grow up in mobile, I moved down here 3 years ago. I was craving a Philly cheese one day so I started googling around... I decided to try this place out... and wow I have been a returning customer ever since. The food was delicious and the prices are customer friendly. This is more of a "hole in the wall" so of course the vibes are immaculate!! I wouldn't change it for the world. The owner and his team are always good to everyone that enters. This place is busy!! And for all the right reasons. The food is delicious and the people are AWESOME. I know that I haven't been in a while due to work, but I finally went again this week, because i missed it. I used to eat my lunches here a lot. And boy was I happy that I stoped by. There wasn't a single crumb left on my plate lol. That's how good my meal was. I'm so happy that they won an award. Great Philly,the bread was soft but held together perfectly. The meat was flavorful and perfect texture. The onion rings were tasty too. The staff was super helpful and very friendly. Small family cafe with a basic but delicious menu. The cafe is set in an aging strip mall but easy in/out access. My husband and I both had a savory gyro with feta and bell peppers added. The pita was super fresh and warm. The meat was perfectly salty and delicious. The restrooms were clean The older gentleman owner making rounds to the tables, making small talk and checking on their food. Ok, TBH this place doesn't look appealing at all. My hubby kept trying to take me here and I kept refusing based on the outside and the area it is in. (It's right next to a tattoo parlor and a pawn shop) Well, I was very reluctantly dragged here by my brother and sister-in-law one day and now it is one of my favorite lunch places ever. (Thanks Mitch and Brook!) I order the 8in? Cheesesteak that's got the peppers, mushrooms, and onions and I usually split this with my daughter. It's sooo delicious! It is a total hole in the wall, next to a tattoo parlor and across from the dog track. It may be small and slightly dingy, no bathroom, and uncomfortable booths, but the service is fast and friendly and the food is good. I'll give it to em, the food is bangin! I've never been disappointed in the taste or the customer service. Everyone who works here has always been super nice. The building itself looks sketchy but the people inside can't be beat. However after today I'm going to have a really hard time coming back. While placing my order I looked up into the kitchen and watched as two of the young men plated food without gloves. Notice I said plated food not cooked. I am ServSafe Certified and understand that foods that are being cooked can be touched bare handed due to the bacterial being killed by the heat of the grill/fryer. However no gloves while placing lettuce on a burger or holding a bun ungloved while stuffing it is not okay. I was so disappointed to see it and immediately left the building. Well I've found another gem in the Theodore/Tillman's corner area. What a find. I'll get to the food in a sec but let's start from the top. DO NOT be nervous over the storefront. This place is silly good. Upon walking in I'm greeted by the owner, who was so nice. He was genuinely glad I was here. It was so pleasing after a tough morning. His wonderful attitude carried over into the food it surely taste like. I ordered the "bomb with fries". Picture a philly cheesesteak sandwich with conechuh sausage added.
