The people, i.e. a woman who is the site live-on premises manager and a woman cleaning the motel were super friendly and let me know there's no coffee and apologized for this. I was cool with that. I'm traveling on my own, I can get coffee when I get on the road in the morning. I checked in and put a few of my things into room: my guitar, and two small pieces of luggage. And then I left for the museum and to meet someone for dinner who is associated with the museum. I did not turn on anything in the room or check on anything there at the time because if I managed my time, I could go to the Craters of the Moon too. (I did.) After all the above, and a high school rodeo, I came back to the room to plan the next day and needed wifi. I put a couple of bottles of water in the frig, and turned the TV on... or tried to. The direct TV did not work, the TV had a tube and wasn't synching with the satellite. I checked on water and the frig did not work even though it was set to a cold setting and it was plugged in. The furniture was like a holdover from a foreclosed motel. It was well worn out. The bed, I never even pulled the covers back so I can't comment on it. There had been commotion outside at about 9PM. I opened my door to see what was going on and saw a man getting guns out of his truck, and his dog ran at me. The noise was not ending. I was a little worried and as I sat in the room trying to get wifi to work, I decided, nothing works, the frig, the TV, and my safety. I wasn't going to get any sleep worrying about my car outside. I decided I might as well get on the road to get further to my destination and I met the same friendly manager as she was headed out for the night and gave her the keys and let her know I was leaving. I told her about the things not working and she offered me a new room. I let her know, to be honest, it's the things not working, but I do not feel safe here either. I drove on the Boise that night checking into a new motel close to the Air Force base about midnight and had great clean room that was safe and had things that worked, like wifi, coffee, TV, microwave, and no dogs challenging me, or guns. I would avoid this place. Even the cost for me, I think $65 was extremely high for what is provided and what is available elsewhere on my journey. (11 days driving across the US and back). Again, the manager was good, the motel owners need to invest some serious money in the place to get the things that are advertised as there are there and are working and then set guidelines for people who stay there and not be welcoming pit-bulls or any dogs not on leashes. I would ding this place for false advertising, safety, and one mored irregularity that Idid not know until after my trip. For the other 12 motels I stayed in on my journey across America, payment was through Expedia. At the Arco Inn, it was through themselves and not Expedia, and it was listed as gas/oil, like a gas station and not as a motel. The reservation was made through Expedia. I verified this afterwards. I'm a former sailor on nuclear submarines. I can handle tough conditions. What I refuse to accept is things not working which should be and the safety aspects of my self and my car and what had not been brought in.

I deal with intoxicated people almost daily so it didn't bother me but it was unprofessional. We got through it. When I walked in I saw a dark spot on the floor. Touched it with my toe, it was wet so naturally I get on my hands and knees to smell it. Call me weird, I don't care. Turns out it's dog pee. Cool. Because I got the last room and the employee was drunk I opted not to bother telling him. What else was he gonna do? Flip flops on all night. The room was fine, like I said, I didn't expect much. It was a place to sleep and shower. When I checked out the next morning I told the employee about it. He was more sober and admitted he'd started in the Jack a little early the day before. I told him about the wet pee and he was upset about it. He asked why I didn't tell him and I responded that he gave me the last room and what else was he gonna do? He walked off to go look at the room and said they'd refund me. Still waiting for that refund. Quite the experience.
