This indoor gun range is located on Hwy. 59 N. and I recently visited it to shoot in a USPSA club match. It's an old range that needs some work done. Inside it's rather small with two separate shooting bays that may have 5 stalls each. In the bay that the match was held in, I noticed many bullet holes in the ceiling showing the outside sky. I would give 3 stars normally for a place like this because it serves its basic purpose. Instead, I give 2 stars because both shooting bays lack any kind of air filtration. That's dangerous. During my 90 minutes shooting there the air was foul with gunpowder smoke and full of lead and other toxic chemicals. It was rough staying there. This is 2022 not 1962 and every indoor range must provide air filtration. read more

I couldn't even enter the range. The guy at the register was a complete ass, seemed like he hated his job. AR's aren't allowed in the range which is dumb. I've been shooting at this range since 2010, it hasn't changed much from that time. It's old and rather small without air filtration and range air conditioners are almost non existent. Good ac in the shop area however, Super hot in the summer but it has an open area for IDPA style scenarios and that's what i come to shoot with my group of friends. We have a blast to say the least. Jason is always there and is friendly and helpful. They have rental guns and great deals if you purchase a gun. Give them a try, you will be pleased. read more

I've been here twice, and both times I was happy with the experience. The first time was just to shoot. I went in, filled out their form, and was told which lane to use. The place is bare bones; no frills. The targets have no heads, as they do not want you taking headshots. This is due to the fact you could shoot the wires off the target controller. I shot for a while, and it was very loud. There is no type of noise dampening, so next time I would probably use double hearing protection. The prices here are very reasonable, and really what more do you need? I also went there to take my License to Carry class (the old CHL class). It is very convenient as you do not have to make a reservation. It is offered every day. I read the material, took my test, and did my shooting proficiency test. It was very painless. This place is bare bones, but that is ok with me. I would rather not pay a bunch of extra money just because there is a fancy waiting room. If you are just looking to shoot, or want a convenient LTC class, this is definitely your place. read more

My very first gun range!! I'm a new gun owner and I'm still learning and practicing. My husband has been shooting nearly all his life and he's very happy with this place as am I. They guys that work there are down to earth, nice people. They don't bother you if you know what you're doing. My husband is my teacher and he's been doing a great job, so again, the guys behind the counter stay there and don't try to "instruct" you. The lane prices are very reasonable at $20 for 2 people and their ammo prices are good too. I brought my own gun and ammo but wanted to try different ammo and what they had worked great. It's absolutely nothing fancy, but it's absolutely functional for what you are there to do. They provide eye and ear protection as well as one target person. I also plan to take my CHL here when I'm ready. All in all a very good range and we will be back. read more

This places have it work to do in it it falling apart we on our range shooting and the ceiling came down in our lane so we we ask for new lane but they was all full so we to go pay and was being rush out of the build that my friend left his gun case on the counter he went back to go get and notice one of his gun wasn't missing and nobody ask the people they said the said him leave his back so they look in it and put it in the safe and it was only one gun in the bag not two read more

New gun owner here. Took my CHL class here on Saturday and was very pleased with my experience. Affordable 'no frills' gun range that was very affordable and got straight to the point. Plentiful CHL class slot offerings 2x a day and 7 days a week. Scanned in my form to the state and background check got approved in less than 2 weeks. If you want to wait for a lane in the bright pretty lobby of a new building, go somewhere else. This is an old school indoor range. Facilities are dated, but functional. Staff are regular folks, not the mall ninja types encountered at other ranges in Houston. Generally I can go in, sign the waiver, and be shooting in a couple of minutes. read more

It's a range fairly small not a big selection on firearms at all as plenty of other reviewers have said the place seems pretty beat down doesn't seem like they care about the appearance of their shop things are thrown in the gun cases, and one thing really did bother me which is why I won't go back to that range as I was checking out firearms there were people shooting of course but you could tell there was one shooting a good bit quicker and one of the employees got up off his seats and started smashing his hand onto the range glass and screamed at him "slow it the F*** down" and that irked me really bad the guy wasn't even rapid firing he was just shooting noticeably quicker than everyone else do they expect us to only take a shot every two seconds? It was ridiculous what do we come to a range for? To practice I understand safety is always a concern but that was definitely not rapid fire and that reaction was totally uncalled for. There are definitely better and friendlier ranges out there trust me there prices aren't the cheapest so in reality unless they clean up the place and their act there is really no reason to go here. You'll thank yourself you went somewhere else when you're attended by friendly people read more

This is a terrible range to go to. I only came here because Carter country does rent out firearms and my wife was looking for a gun to purchase. When I came in the guy helping someone asked the a lady(one of the ltc instructors) for help. She snapped at him saying she works 12 hours a day, she's not working today and where is his father. His father was outside with some lady. The lady(Ltc instructer) went outside to get the guy to help us. the guy she got to help us helped out alot. Was very nice. Gave some advice but didn't force it down my throat like a lot of firearm admirers. The range ia falling apart. Need some remodeling. I understand its a gun range but even guns need maitenence too. when I finished with my wife. We came back to the front wanting to buy a pistol. The lady (Ltc instructor) husband over heard me talking to my wife about the difference in Glocks and generation. He interrupted me. Started acting like a smartass. tell me I was absolutely wrong saying all Glocks are the same. A glock is a Glocks Glock is what he told me. I asked him which barrel for the Glock is better the gen 3 or gen 5 to kind of small talk because he was talking aggressive. He could only tell me the gen 5 will clog up like an artery over time but his smart ass couldnt tell me which one was better. It's funny because I don't think you can put the same part on a gen 4 or 5 on a gen 3 so "NO" they are not the same!. I think he and his wife were having a terrible day and I understand but there is no reason to argue with other staff, get loud in front of customers and get aggressive . Bad for business. Prior to going to this range on 8/1/2020 I read the reviews and to be honest I was scared to go. My friend encouraged me to still go as we needed to complete our gun proficiency section of the LTC. I am glad I did. I had a good experience at this place. The staff was nice, knowledgeable and patient with me as ive never shot a gun before. Upon entry there was a sign that said you can't come in with a shirt that mentions BLM,Trump or Biden. I personally understand why and agree with it. Those are hot topics that cause disagreements amongst people; I wouldn't want that type of energy around a lot of guns and ammo. I also could see why the other reviews called the place outdated because it was with the wood paneling in the common area. That was okay with me because the place was clean despite the paneling. When I went out on the lanes I had no problem they swept previously spent casings up. Overall I like this place and will be going back as it felt homie to me opposed to intimidating like another place I looked at. read more

All you could want in a shooting range for the money. Very helpful and friendly staff who answered all of my questions and showed me tips on how to be a better handgun shooter. I would definitely recommend this range. It is a little small in the lane spacing but it goes out with line markers to 15 yards from what I remember which is more than enough for accurate practice. read more
