I called Technical, describing known problems and explaining that I didn't want to spend much to fix this truck up. I said that I was prepared to junk the truck if repair costs ran too high. They convinced me to take it in for a look. After 3-4 hours they called back telling me the cause of each issue I described. In many cases the fix was much less significant than I expected. Initially fearing a repair estimate of over $2000 or $3000, I was shocked when told the estimate was $515! It was ready for pickup a short time later, and in better repair than it had ever been since I bought the truck. Thank you, Technical. Excellent job diagnosing all the issues; performing cost-effective repairs; and not trying to run up the bill in any way. Well done! I'll be back next time a vehicle needs work.

I parked my car at the Kinsmen centre last night and when I got out it wouldn't start. Luckily my wife was in the area and was able to pick me up and bring me home. The next morning I called Instamek before getting dropped off at my office letting them know about the issue. They asked me a few questions to try and diagnose the problem and said they would fit me in immediately. I was able to leave my car key in the mailbox at my house, the mechanic drove all the way to home to pick it up while I was at work. He then went and fixed my car and left my key in the inside of my wheel well exactly as I had instructed them to do. This was all done before noon....and the repair cost me less than $100! Very impressed at their ability to go out of their way to make sure I was able to get back driving same day AND I didn't have to re-arrange my day to deal with meeting a mechanic or calling a tow truck. Awful experience. Out $4000.00 for a Transmission that…read morelasted 21000kms. My mechanic replaced my transmission in my truck with Can-West in Oct 2020. My truck is hardly used and I don't pull a trailer or abuse this truck. On a family vacation in July 2023 my truck broke down. Over $1000.00 to get it towed back to Edmonton just to have my mechanic tell me the transmission was shot. 21000kms!!!!!!!!! And the transmission was shot????????? I realize the warranty is for 2 years or 40000kms but 21000kms is ridiculous. The mechanics I talked to agreed that a transmission should not only last 21000kms even after the 2 year warranty expires. Needless to say , i was not impressed. I called Can west to see what they could do to help me out. Well, they didn't seem to interested because ''' it's past the two year warranty''. They said they would pay for labour but I still had to pay for parts. $2600.00 later....Can West also stated that the problem was the parts in the transmission[which they replaced in 2020]. I called another transmission company and they quoted me $2600.00-$2800.00. So I'm not really sure what I saved???? Tow truck ,mechanic, new transmission, waste of time. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Bottom line : I'm out $4000.00 for a Transmission that lasted 21000kms. I would recommend you go elsewhere.
