Throughout my experience, he handled everything professionally and made what could have been a stressful process much easier. I was charged fees to file and associated charges to put together the documentation. I'm not looking at the immediate timeline on it, but about over a month or two later I was surprised at my door, at night by a large male process server, an alarming situation for a single woman. I finally heard back from the paralegal and complained they might have warned me as my ex filed at least a month ago AND there was no record of my lawyer having filed as my representation. The paralegal admitted she dropped the ball. When I challenged their billing, they subsequently admitted they significantly overcharged me. As for my case, I sent them a detailed outline of my situation, but each time they seem to be unaware of key details of my case. I was told by someone on staff that several lawyers quit without making arrangements for clients or making anyone aware and "everyone was overworked and had too much on their plate." They did not seem to want to advocate for me and pushed me to accept deals that were not even approaching equitable. When we were finally done, the offices sent me a proof of a decree that included none of what was agreed. Additionally, there were several glaring errors that could have had significant long term consequences had i not caught them. Today was a major deadline and I have not heard from my lawyer despite 3 emails to their office. Additionally, prior to these issues I recommended this office to several other people who have all come back to me to let me know about unprofessional behavior, lack of communication, and unclear billing.

Alexandra Geczi - Divorce attorney for women, Alexandra Geczi

Getting divorced is brutal. Working with Alexandra Geczi and her amazing team is not brutal…read more My two decade marriage ended in 2022. I had no intention of dragging out the divorce as long as the marriage. Texas family law is as frustrating as the power grid, so I needed someone who could get the job done and represent me. I wanted a lawyer who was a woman, intelligent, direct, and not too emotional. I did not need hugs, I needed a divorce. I interviewed several attorneys to represent me. Some were nice but weak, some were rage-filled and vengeful towards the spouse, and others made me wonder what some law schools are doing with their curriculum. Alex was nothing like other lawyers. Granted, she had completed law school and undergraduate studies like everyone else I had interviewed, but she was not interested in boasting about her accomplishments (which are impressive and lengthy). As I spoke to Alex, I realized that this was the lawyer who checked all of the boxes I required and many more. She did not approach the conversation like we were part of the 300 fighting off the Persians; instead, Alex respected the fact that I wanted to keep the experience as amicable as possible. I spoke with Alex before I retained her services, and she was exactly who I wanted to represent me: female, not man-hating, direct, and an aggressive advocate for her clients. She did not ask me stupid questions, and appreciated that I had done my homework before I spoke with her. I chose to vet her background before I retained Alex to see what other people had said about her legal prowess. I have yet to find a negative review of Alex's abilities as a lawyer. Everyone was complimentary, she had no issues previous or pending with the state bar, and had enough of a digital footprint that I also was able to see podcasts that included Alex talking about family law. I retained Alex's firm. That was the best decision I made in 2022. Her team is beyond amazing. Brandy has the precision and organization of a military commander. As Director of Operations, she ensures that everything flows as it should. She is prompt, efficient, and compassionate without being syrupy sweet. Katie may be one of the smartest humans on the planet. As a paralegal, she handled most of my case details. She is ruthlessly efficient, able to anticipate my questions before I know what they are, and moves paperwork through the glacially slow wheels of justice in the Dallas court system at a shockingly quick pace. Plus, she has a sense of humor, which is required when getting a divorce. If you do not laugh at some of the stuff encountered, you will cry all the time. From retainer to the "thanks for the memories" exit call, the process lasted about 5 months. The legal portion took less than four months from filing to final decree with the notarization stamp. I have friends who are still working through the process after years of issues. Alex, Brandy, and Katie were exceptionally clear when giving directions on what I needed to do, provided paperwork that needed to be signed in a very efficient manner, and always answered the emails I sent with little waiting by me. I emailed a lot, and those emails were full of questions, directions, and sarcasm. Each question was answered, directions followed, and sarcasm met with sarcasm, so we were evenly matched. I was able to keep the divorce amicable, and spent less time on the actual process than I did deciding to file for divorce. If I go through this hellscape again, and I hope I never do, I will call Alex. I cannot imagine anyone considering divorce using any other firm.

Our case had to do with obtaining managing conservatorship over our grandchildren after a tragic car accident killed our daughter. We tried to handle the legal filings ourselves through the court, but the judge advised us to get a lawyer to better handle the complexities. We searched online and selected this law firm mainly due to its dealings with the designated courthouse and reviews. Once we met with the attorney, he said all the right things that made us feel like the case would have the urgency that we felt. We signed the paperwork and sent in our retainer so we could get started right away. From that point on it was a nightmare. Specifically, the issues consisted of little to no communication unless we initiated it, egregious mistakes on paperwork, unprofessionalism and no urgency. Once we realized this, we decided it was not working and fired them. We even sent the lawyer a list of constructive criticism based on our experience to help them with future clients. He completely dismissed it and even said that was not the way he saw things. In fact, after obtaining zero results on our case this firm charged us almost the entire retainer! Yes, that's right and in hindsight it really felt like they only wanted to bill every penny they could instead of focusing on completing the case. We are grandparents just trying to do the right thing for our grandkids and feel taken advantage of. This is why we wanted to get our experience out there as a warning to those of you searching for a firm to handle your case. We made a terrible choice here and don't want you to do the same. We have retained a new firm and could not be happier as the experience has been a night and day difference. I only wish we would have started there and not had to go through this nightmare and complete waste of money and time.
