We take our cars here for general maintenance services like oil changes. We also have brought in our cars to help diagnose an issue. They are always nice, help us with the problem and charge reasonably. We appreciate that they are able to keep our older cars going. All issues are usually resolved pretty quickly. read more

Came in here today during the terrible rainstorm, just as my wipers gave out! Not being from the area, I was extremely stressed and knew I needed to get my wipers fixed fast.. All of the gentlemen here were so kind to me. They took a look at my car and determined the wiper bolts just needed some tightening, and did it at no charge! On a friend's recommendation, took my 2005 PT Cruiser here after the engine light went on while I was driving, and the car started 'bucking.' They were professional and communicative, and replaced the cam position sensor for a fair price. When the engine light went on again a few weeks later (which after looking online, seems to be a common issue with this particular car), they replaced the censor again and a connecting hose at no cost. Having an older car and making frequent longer trips, I'm glad to have found a local reliable auto shop. I would definitely recommend them! read more

disclaimer: i'm not receiving anything for this review. the opinion is mine based on all my experiences over the years with this business. for many years it was up to my dad to find a mechanic for his car. either that, or if able, he fixed it himself. we used to take our vehicles to a family members shop and all was good. then my cousin retired. a couple car issues later, my dad and i went from shop to shop. some were honest, some weren't. after my dad passed away it was up to me to find a mechanic for my car issues. unfortunately, i didn't pay attention to my dad as he worked on cars and i kick myself for that. a relative recommended d&s on his social media page. this was about 6 years ago. that's how long danny has been my "go to" guy. . honest, reliable, reasonably priced and i never hesitate to call him when needed. the day i change mechanics is the day d&s is no longer a business. hopefully, that's a long long time from now. more than once, he's fixed simple issues on my car either without charging me, or just charging me labor. try finding an honest mechanic that will do that nowadays. a recent issue we had was a power window that was not working. danny had already replaced the motor a year ago. i took it in and guess what? they replaced the motor for free because i was within the warranty. my receipt shows $0.00 owed. AND...a new 2 year warranty started on the replacement motor. save yourself the hassle and runaround. go with a family owned business with an honest owner and give d&s a call. read more

Potential Cause of a Fatal Accident. Untrustworthy. Dis-honest. Over-priced. Horrible quality control. 1998 Jetta Clutch replacement (Standard 5-speed) Charged me $940. I was able to bring it to $890. Didn't fix the problem. I was driving on the free-way. My clutch wasn't engaging. RPM and Speed dramatically dropped. I was then forced to drive at speeds between 15 - 25. I was almost rear ended by a semi going upwards of 65 - 70mph. Thankfully he noticed just in time to pass. Going this slow very dangerous especialy in California. Yo!! What is the trash dump of an auto-shop. I had many semi trucks pass me. Including a couple confused truckers. Forced to return five times due to clutch/car failure. First repair was defective: 3rd and fifth gear slipped constantly going at speeds all across the board. The worst was slipping at high speeds. This would cause the RPM to shoot rapidly, causing abnormal wear and tear to the "new" clutch they installed. At times it took 10-20 seconds to shift into any gear. As if they were jammed tight. However, it was possible through force and maneuver. Damage to clutch system. Unnecessary wear on transmission/clutch system and car function. read more

I had work done on my car here. Let's say my car was in need of major TLC. Jose was amazing, he kept me updated on all the repairs that were being done to my car. Unfortunately my experience was poor. It gets one star because it was a matter of dishonesty, which is in my opinion the worst thing a business can do. Here's what occurred. The fellow at the desk gave me a price to replace a transmission fluid pump, which I accepted. After the work was done I came to learn he had used a "reconditioned pump." This came to light only when I asked him to save the replaced part for me (I was already a bit suspicious) After some hesitation, he told me he couldn't give it back because he had to give it to whoever sold him the replacement pump and then he'd get a $50 or $55 rebate. When I told him no, it's my part, and this makes no sense, he copped to installing a reconditioned pump, not a new one. He denied he charged me the new pump price, and of course I did not believe him. I told him what he did was illegal, and the mechanic, who was with us during this exchange, apologized for the "misinformation" on the desk fellow's part. read more
