She has a knack for pinpointing knots and tight areas and uses a scale from a 1-8 with 1 being the least achiness and 8 being the most achy. She communicates well and is very in tune with pressure points and if you need for her to back off when working on an area until it releases. It "hurts so good" so to speak and "no pain, no gain" is what I keep repeating to myself when she's working on an area until it releases. I'm breathing thru the pain, LOL!! I usually have her work on specific areas that are tight and this visit she asked if I it was okay to do some stretches as my left hip and quad were tight. That helped as well. I think "E" is well on her way to success and I told her she could work even at the Stretch Lab! I am impressed with the students that I've had here and their dedication to the craft. The quality and ambiance is as close to other Massage establishments I've been to but with very affordable pricing and frequent discounts usually during the holidays. I take advantage of their bundle promos. Parking can be a little hard to find close to the school as there are restaurants surrounding them. Leave enough time to find parking and for checking in. Bathrooms are very clean and tidy. There's also a hot/cold water dispenser near the lobby by the bathrooms so you can hydrate. The front desk gets busy in case you have to book an appointment over the phone ie using a gift card. You'll either have to try early in the morning or late in the day, otherwise you'll have to leave a voicemail. The chat option online is pretty basic and won't be able to solve any complex issues or gift-card bookings. It just default-answers you back to the website or phone number.

The online booking process was very easy. I booked a 1 hour deep tissue massage. The studio is located in the Park North Shopping center with a large parking lot. The inside wasn't the most modern or updated but was comfortable. There was gentle spa music in the background throughout. My massage was in a private room and my massage therapist was Susan. She was so professional in asking me my focus areas, with the draping, and got all my knots. She checked in frequently. It was truly a deep tissue massage. I felt like a new person coming out! The rooms each have a single pod equipped with a shower, towels, body wash and shampoo/conditioner for before and after the float. The single person pods are heated to body temperature and filled with 1200 lbs of epsom salt. You can choose to keep the pod cracked open or fully closed and keep the blue tinted light on or off. She then proceeds to place a Bluetooth radio on the table by my head, it was playing faucet water sounds. I thought it was weird but I went along with it. She started the massage and I the whole time I was thinking "is she touching me?!". She literally poked my back, rubbed my left arm, applied foot scrub on my feet, wiped it off and we were done! I was like What The ENTIRE Fuck?!?! I put my robe on and went to look for my mom. I was like did we schedule a 30 minute or an hour? The rest of our party was there and confirmed it was for 50 minutes. I was livid!! So I assumed it was cut short due to us arriving late and then being busy I understand that. So when we went to the counter to pay they wanted to charge us for a full 50 minutes massage. I refused to pay for a shitty 30 minutes massage at the 50 minute rate. This was, without a doubt, the WORST massage experience I've ever had. Based on numerous five-star…read morereviews, I had high expectations for my recent visit to Healing Foot Body. However, the outcome was nowhere near what I expected from a place with such high customer ratings. I arrived and was greeted by a lady who was to be my assigned therapist. She pointed out the posted massage options and prices, and I chose the one-hour body massage for $80. I'm used to a therapist getting things started by asking me questions and identifying problem areas in advance. In this case, there was little to no concern or empathy about any of that. Just an impersonal "walk this way, take your clothes off and lie on the table." Unfriendly and very unwelcoming. Not a good way to set the right tone for a good client experience. My session began and it was clear early on that I was NOT in the presence of a well-trained massage therapist. Instead of the lightly applied massage lotion I'm accustomed to, she smothered her hands with it and slathered it all over my back, arms and palms. I could feel the oily residue slowly seeping into my skin. As things progressed, she spent a longer than necessary amount of time on certain areas, and completely ignored others. To make matters worse, her "technique" was not therapeutic by any means. I sensed a very limited knowledge of pressure points, muscle tissues, etc. I felt awkward, tense and uncomfortable, definitely not relaxed. I started to wonder if this would get any better. About two-thirds into the massage, I had to excuse myself to use the restroom. When I returned, she rubbed a wet, abrasive towel harshly over my back, presumably to remove excess lotion. I felt like I was being scraped with damp sandpaper. It's been a few days since my visit, and my back is still irritated from that unexpected torture. Then, as if things couldn't get worse, she finished by randomly slapping my back and legs with both hands, in the most comical way possible. Like a two-year-old splashing in a bathtub. She wrapped it up by passively saying, "OK that's one hour" and then just walked out of the room. I sat up on the massage table and tried to make sense of what had just happened. And why someone this poorly trained, unfriendly and unsympathetic could possibly be allowed to treat a massage client. This was the first time ever that I spent an entire massage session on my stomach. No direction to lie on my back for any front body treatment. Since she was the only one present at the time, I couldn't lodge a complaint with a manager. So I just paid my $80 plus tip and walked out, feeling completely cheated and far from satisfied. Not only do I fault the therapist for her lack of skill and empathy, but I also hold the business responsible for failing to ensure quality service from its staff. Despite my unpleasant experience, I hope others who choose to get a massage at Healing Foot Body have a much better outcome than mine.
