Every time I go in there, I am greeted with MISERABLE people. I never get a smile in response to my…read moresmile, I get silence with my pleasant conversation, and when I have questions concerning the reason I am in the post office to begin with, I get attitude and unpleasant responses and expressions. Today it *poured* down rain, and I went in with a letter ready to go, stamp and all. I said, "will this go out today?", in a cheery tone. The man (the usual miserable lout) answered with attitdue, "um, yes, AFTER I put additional postage on it!". I had no idea why he said this nor what he meant, but he did not offer an explanation; just threw it up the scale and....silence. Then he asked, "what's in this?" Now keep in mind, this was a letter in a stationary envelope. I said, "a letter?" Finally, I asked why I needed to pay 20 cents more than the already-expensive postage stamp I came with and he said "because it won't go through the machine." Now, my letter was by NO means overly-thick. It was a few pages, folded over. Really, mailed similar things -- a million times -- before. So I asked "can't we just smoosh it, to make it flatter?" He remarked, "dear, either you put it in a bigger envelope or pay the 20 cents." I had no money on me, so had to run out back to my car, in the pouring, crazy rain. Soaked, I paid the 20 cents to another person there and verified that my letter would be sent out the very same day. Anyway, I'm really just sick and tired of going there, happy-go-lucky and old-fashioned, with my hand-written letters, just to have people who have personal issues and bad attitudes take my money. Further, on a separate occasion, the very same gentleman told me that having a tracking number ONLY means that you know it got there, in the end. He had no idea, as I offered to explain -- twice -- that with tracking numbers, you can see all the little sorting facilities and places your parcel visits. When I was leaving, and his co-worker was letting me out of the door, she said "I know what you meant about the tracking number, he's not all with it when it comes to things like that." WHAT?? You work there, man! So, I got a beef with the Towson post office. I hold my nose at them -- P.U.
