Wonderful family business! They do great work at fair prices, and the customer service can't be beat. I'm sad I just moved out of Marin. I don't know if I'll find another service as qualified and honest as D & K. read more

Come here for all of our auto needs. The family that runs it is absolutely amazing! They are extremely helpful with all of our family's cars, and I wouldn't ever go any other place in Marin. Always know I'm in good hands here. read more

I've been getting my car serviced with D and K and had to say it was a happy accident that I found their number after being fed up with the Chevy dealership. You get knowledgeable staff that gives you a honest opinion on how urgent work should be scheduled. As a female consumer I appreciate the no-nonsense honesty. read more

I can't recommend this place strongly enough! They were VERY honest and extremely helpful when my son's car broke down on a trip to SF. The gal who helped me on the phone and my son in person, Trish or Tricia, was amazing! We'll always remember his trip, the issues with the car and how much less stressful D&K made the whole experience. :) read more

I have been bringing ALL my vehicles to D&K for 30 years (wow time flies when you're having fun!). I have NEVER had anything but quality, honest service. The Owner Dave is big and brash and could scare you off, but he is the BEST! Don't expect a service department with a polished floor. They concentrate on fixing your car at a fair price. Dave's daughter Trisha has come on board in recent years and is SO knowledgable about just about every car out there. We bring Hondas, Acuras, Mazdas, BMW, Mini, even my wife's precious Mercedes. Trisha helped me trouble shoot a problem before it even became a problem. She also helped me prep a car for sale and printed up all the service records to seal the deal. Highest rating for D&K ! read more

I can't say enough good things about D&K. A integral part of Corte Madera and one the only places I'd ever trust to bring my car, my gripes and lengthy complicated car questions to. They have never steered me wrong and have always been able to help me in a bind. Facts are, that there are tons of mechanics out there that overprice their work and usually do a shotty job. Untruthful and not trustworthy. D&K IS NOT THAT PLACE!! They tell you like it is and that's why they have been around for decades. I live outside the Bay Area now and I'm usually waiting until I can take to Dave to work his magic or I'll call for advice so I don't get ripped off by someone else. So look no further. This place is the first, last and only stop you should ever make for any car repair. read more

I'v known Dave Painter long before D & K. He's a good guy. Kate and Trish keep him in line. Along with a top notch staff your vehicle will be fixed the correct way! Tell your friends too! Corte Madera and Kentfield are close together for us. Ron N read more

Extremely welcoming and honest car shop! I was dreading going to get my car fixed and took my car to D&K for the first time as I was frustrated with my former auto shop. They are a very friendly and personable family, and most importantly they do honest work and provide recommendations without being pushy which is rare in the auto industry. We will be using D&K as our shop going forward. read more

Dave's rocks.... simply rocks... I just had my mustang repaired and they did a fast great job. The price was below what others had quoted. I had been told to go there before because they were so honest. My daughter has been using him for years. read more

I love D & K auto services because of the long standing reputation of the owner, Dave, in the auto repairing business, his honesty and his sense of humor. He's a graduate of Redwood High School. Compared to many other auto repair services in the area his prices are reasonable. He'll do the auto repairs you authorize, tell you about stuff that may/will need doing in the future. He takes care of business. He isn't constantly trying to upsell you on added services you may not need or want. Consistent. Dependable. Approachable. And if there's some auto repair/body services he's not comfortable working on, he'll refer you to the best, affordable and consistent providers in Marin. A solid businessperson who gets a lot of repeat business. A family run business. read more

Maybe instead of D & K they should change their name to H & E - which stands for Honest and Excellent. Or maybe X & O (hugs and kisses!) Sooo thankful that their auto shop exists in "Gouge' em for- all- you- can- get- Marin County". i was referred to their services by a Corte Madera Policeman. References don't get better than that! i do NOT give these people a 5 star rating. I GIVE THEM A GALAXY!!! The only thing wrong with this auto shop is it can't be cloned! read more

I was going to write a review, a favorable one. Actually a stellar review to support their business as they excel in service, advice and value but, I feel like a needle in a haystack of positive reviews. Just bring your vehicle here, any vehicle. I've seen ambulances, police cars here, if they can't fix it they'll give you great advise on where to take it for the best work and most reasonable price. Amazing! It's like stepping back in time to when you could actually trust your mechanic. At D & K, you can! I really wanted to stand out as an exemplary review but alas that post has been filled, many times over. Just take your vehicle to D & K. read more

These people here at D and K are very kind and helpful. I came with issues on an engine light that was keeping me from passing a smog test. Trish, dave's daughter got a mechanic on it right away and got the engine light to turn off. Dave, her Dad, is a nice guy and he advised me what to do to get my car tp pass smog. He did not even have to do repairs and referred me to a place for the test. Wow are these people helpful. I can tell you where i'm coming for my auto repairs now. Its ina cozy area of Larkspur too, i could walk around while waiting if i need to. Thanks dave and Trsih, i hope the best karma for you and your business. Thanks for helping all the people that have need of trust in the auto repairs. I can see why your rep is good! read more

Found this place on Yelp and I was really pleased with their customer service. My engine was smoking so I brought my Honda in and after looking in the car they discovered an issue that would require my engine to be completely replaced, but they knew it would most likely be covered under warranty if I brought it to Honda. They filled up my oil and coolant and didn't charge me for anything. I'm so happy they knew about this certain issue, and my engine will be replaced under the warranty. Thanks D & K! read more

We trust D & K Auto Services! We have had 4 busy kids driving to Tahoe and back and forth to colleges, etc. in our various used cars over the past 15 years! D & K is a reliable family run business who has kept our kids in our cars safe. Dave is fair, and recommends fixing what needs fixing and doesn't over recommend extra costs. He and his team arr great at troubleshooting and they get the job done when they say they will. I highly recommend D & K Auto Services. read more

These guys epitomize customer service. I worked with Tricia (I hope I spelt her name right) to get a used car inspected. The general gist, we live over in Modesto and we had a car that we were interested in at Marin Luxury Cars. Despite setting up beforehand with the dealership that they would drop the car off for inspection in the morning, which is when I had scheduled with D&K to have things looked at, they managed to fail to get the car in by the appointment time or the end of day. Throughout the ordeal, Tricia was very patient and willing to accept the fact that these guys had failed to bring the car in at any point in the day, with both of us hoping at some point the vehicle would arrive for inspection. At the end of it all, she was even willing to go the extra mile, quite literally the dealership is only a mile away, to go and bring the car in for inspection. Though that wasn't needed as the dealership, finally managed to free up the car from it's smog check...something that normally takes 30 mins to an hour by the end of the day. At the time of writing, D&K has yet to do my used car inspection, but the level of customer service that Tricia has provided, would keep me coming to their shop if I were to live in the area. Highly recommended on customer service alone! read more

I thought this kind of place was gone forever. Since I got an a Mercedes sprinter. I figured service visits would always involve having a conference with a guy in a tie with a clipboard. Not here. You to Trisha then they fix what you tell them to fix and they tell you what else needs fixing and how many more thousand miles it'll be before it has to be fixed. Just the way it oughta be! read more

D & K diagnosed my car exactly right, repaired it promptly for a fair cost. Trisha is great! She has a lot of knowledge and great energy and was wonderful to do business with. They are very honest and not trying to pull more money from you for additional repairs. Thank you D & K for getting my car up and running again. read more

i took my ford SUV in to have a vibrating noise looked at. On a rainy day it took a bit to find this place - really poor signage. They have no waiting area, so in the rain i walked down the road to wait at the library. 4 hrs and a couple hundred $$ later, they said the problem was fixed - u joints replaced on the drive shaft. I'm now back to finding another repair place - noise and cornering problems still there, bad as ever read more

We have been going to Dave faithfully for a few years now after MANY years of jumping from mechanic to mehanic. I cannot say enough about how great the service has been... and the fair prices (not something you usually say about mechanics!). We moved to the East Bay and still make the drive across the bridge to take our vehicles to Dave! read more

D & K is the best! I also had jumped around to various mechanics with less than satisfactory results until I found Dave about 6 years ago. He is unfailingly honest and thorough. I never question that the repairs they suggest to me are necessary. And they are really nice people as well as quality mechanics. Go see Dave! read more

I'm a new fan. I tried D&K because of Yelp, and was not disappointed. They were not quick with the turn-around (took a few weeks) but they were very through. Identified the problem, and now my vehicle runs great. Thanks D&K! read more

The only place I will EVER go for any repair. Dave and daughter Trisha will nevr do unnecessary repairs and have more integrity than any place I have ever gone to. Fast, quality work and inexpensive, they will never try to sell you on work that deosnt need to be done. Love them, locals that care about you read more

D&K checked out my car after I had some issues braking. They checked out my car and got back to me extremely quickly, explained my options in an easy to understand way, and didn't even charge me for the time it took them to check everything out. They were very honest and definitely didn't pressure me into doing any service that wasn't necessary. Highly recommended. read more

D & K has always done everything I have asked of them. I have found that they are honest, direct and trustworthy about what's going on with my vehicle and how much it will cost to fix. Nothing I have had repaired there has ever had an issue. I even take my vehicles there for oil changes... It's a little more time and money than those 30 minute places, but I know the job will be done right! read more

I've never written a review ever for any site or service but I felt compelled to do so for D & K. I am extremely happy about the personal, professional, honest, and friendly service and connection offered by Dave, his daughter and his crew! My car broke down Wednesday night and the tow driver that picked me up (Chris at Bill's Towing) recommended I take it to Dave's in the morning. Sadly D& K is not open on the weekend, so I chose to take a day off from work to plan for the worst. I called D & K in the morning and Trisha (Dave's daughter) was so helpful in brainstorming possible issues / solutions to the car troubles I was having (without me even bringing it in yet!). We figured it best for me to come in (since the car was surprisingly drivable at this point) so they could do a quick free computer check. Turns out the IAC valve needed to be replaced. Dave was kind enough to drop me off where I needed to be while I waited, which was completely surprising! Two hours later (after they received the part) and a little over two hundred bucks for the parts and service, and I was good to go! The car did suffer the same issues and broke down on me the next day due to a faulty connection on the IAC valve that was replaced, but they corrected that issue and checked out all the systems quickly and free of charge. Though the situation itself was nerve-racking (thought I was going to be walking to the Larkspur Ferry from here on out) my nerves were greatly eased by the quick, honest, and excellent service by D&K! read more

Amazing Mechanics! I just moved from out of state and therefore didn't know any GOOD local mechanics. Thankfully Yelp helped point me in the right direction with these folks. I cannot speak highly enough for the people at D&K. Not only did they diagnose a problem that was undiagnosable at another shop, but they offered to drive me to and from work while they worked on my car so I wouldn't be late! I know where I will be taking my car to be worked on going forward in the San Francisco / Marin County area. read more

I'd just bought an '05 Toyota used car with no spare tire, Dave told me he could sell me a new wheel and tire and his daughter told me they would call me back. They never did. When I got tired of driving with no spare, I drove to San Rafael and bought my tire/wheel at Cain's. I will return to D & K for general auto services when I need them. Dave and his daughter seem to have a good shop, and I'm local, so I'll bring my business there. read more

I have an older vehicle that has been giving me electrical problems for some time. I could not get my SUV to start and after to many uninspiring visits to the dealership, overpaying for poor workmanship, D&K was recommended. They found and quickly repaired another small problem after taking care of the original reason for the visit I write very few reviews but if you are looking for a family run automotive repair shop that you can immediately tell is managed by good people look no further. I left feeling like I was well taken care of and at a very reasonable price. Don't waste your time or money going anywhere else. read more

I had my Mercedes serviced there twice and I am extremely happy with the end result. They deliver high quality work for a very reasonable price. Trish is a real pleasure to communicate with. If they are not able to do certain work themselves, they dont shy away to provide high quality referrals. Highly recommend this place. read more

I have been coming to D & K for close to a year now. I cannot say enough positive stuff about these folks. When I was bringing my clunker minivan in they always tried to help out in the most cost-effective way. When it failed a smog test they found the problem and fixed it for...NO CHARGE! I just picked up a Subaru Forester which needed the timing belt service done. They had no problem with using my parts and their charges were very reasonable. I feel so lucky to live so close to this gem of a shop. read more

D&K replaced my starter motor in Oct of last year. Now I've been experiencing some problems with it almost a year later. I took it in with only a week left on their warranty of their work. They replaced the starter motor totally hassle free - no questions asked. Thank you D&K! read more

Dave and all of the mechanics at D & K are great! We have been taking my husband's car to D & K for 8 years and have always gotten wonderful service, great advice and good prices for fixing up the clunker of a car when it has problems. We always feel like we are treated fairly and now won't go to anyone else. read more

Based upon the yelp reviews, I went there just now. Dave and the crew were great.

People have the right to conduct business any way they want, and I agree with free enterprise . What I dont support is being told one thing and getting another. Dave tells me not to spend so much money on ordering higher end after market parts. Says he can save me money using what he has on hand! WRONG! I end up getting charged MORE for lesser quality parts. Wait it gets better. I asked when I could get the work done and am told to bring it in Monday. The car was in by 8 am and it wasn't until 1 pm when they called me to come pick it up because they didn't have the needed parts to do the work . Took a few days for the parts to show up. Delayed repair time, lower quality parts and no savings. You be the judge. read more

These folks definitely know what they're doing they'll get your car fixed quickly and it'll be a fair price

I recently moved to Corte Madera and was looking to get service for my car. I found this auto repair shop through Yelp with high recommendations and I could not be more satisfied with their prices and customer service. From the owner to all the people who work there, I knew right away they were in the business of service. Sure, all companies have to generate revenue to keep maintained, but this company would put all the effort through and show results. Moreover, they will not charge you for things that don't exist. Really honest and full of integrity. As long as I live in this area, they are my one-stop shop for all my auto needs! read more

I've been taking my cars and trucks to Dave for ten-plus years. I wouldn't consider going to another mechanic anywhere.
