I checked handyman apps but the whole "hourly rate" thing felt like a financial gamble because who knows how long a door takes?? I hit up my neighborhood app and called a few neighbors and that's how I found Handy Randy's General Contracting -- and listen... just call Randy first and save yourself the spiral. Randy was energetic, professional, and ready to get me in SAME DAY (who even does that anymore??). The install was done by Francisco and Dennis and these guys were on it. Communication was solid -- I knew when they were coming, no guessing games. I work from home and told Randy I had a 1pm meeting. The crew walked in and Francisco goes, "Hey I saw in the notes you have a meeting." Sir... organization AND respect for my schedule?? Already impressed. They got straight to work, I jumped on my meeting, and about an hour later -- boom -- beautiful new exterior door like I suddenly have my life together. Price was right. Work was clean. No drama. No mess. No headaches. Quick, professional, and efficient -- exactly how I like my home projects handled. Do yourself a favor -- call Randy first and skip the trial-and-error phase with other companies.

He and his team finished every item on that list. Pricing was reasonable. I recommend Handy Randy.

No response and after several days I called again. He responded by text and said he had to take a few personal days. An appointment was set for him to come give us an estimate and he did send that after our first meeting. At that appointment some additional plans were discussed and another appointment set. This time he didn't show up, didn't call and didn't text. I sent two text to him asking if he was coming and no response. We had plans for the day and we were left waiting and wondering. On my third message I told him he had already had two red flags previously by responding several days after I had called and this was the second issue of not showing and that I could not work with undependable and we were done. Then he finally responded and said he got hung up building a swing set! That's very unprofessional. No I would not recommend him, he seems to work when he wants to as some previous reviews on Yelp have had the same issue. In his defense he seems to be a very nice guy, but I wasn't hiring a nice guy.

I can't stress enough all the labor that went into these 30+ year old cabinets, prepping and painting. My kitchen was well protected and they took extra care to protect the appliances, as well. They were prompt to correct any issues that came up. And the final results speak for themselves. Highly recommend and we will use them again!
