Responded to my request very quick, came out when he said he was. Gave me a price on the spot, no waiting. Day of the concrete installation his crew and Ismael were right on time, completed the entire job in one day. Did a great job, cleaned everything up. He even moved the grass they dug up to where I wanted it. Would definitely use again.

Very good people to work with if you are looking for a concrete project. Reasonable pricing and keeping the area cleaned during after work.

John was very good at communicating throughout the process and he beat out multiple other bids to win my business. I was impressed with his crew's ability to come in and get the job done on time, in a very efficient manner. They showed up at 8:30am and they were done at 2:00pm. That's a lot of work to get done in a short amount of time and the quality speaks for itself. We are impressed. John was also understanding when we had an issue with payment after the installation process. I'd recommend this company to friends and I'd use them again for my next project with zero hesitation.

I cannot express the relief knowing this job was done correctly on time and on budget. It met all my requirements and the city of Plano's. My wife and I had been looking for several years to have the driveway replaced. We could never find a company to perform the work either because it was "too" small of a job or they had questionable review ratings. I will not spend money if there is any question whether the job will not be completed successfully to my standards. I grew up working summers for my uncle's construction company. I am also an engineer. I can tell if work has been "gun decked"; a naval term for cutting corners. I will do without rather than take on new problems. I noticed my neighbor was in the process of having his driveway replaced. Viewing the installation impressed me. The driveway had been removed. The crew had already laid the sand foundation and were tying the rebar into place. It was evident to me they had the skills and knowledge to perform their jobs correctly since it was the way I had been taught. I spoke with the crew about the tasks they were performing and why they were doing it a certain way. Texas clay is the worst ground you can build on. I grew up in Michigan where there is excellent topsoil that is anywhere from 9 to 24 inches deep. Construction methods are different here due to the poor soil conditions. The crew were friendly during my interactions and then provided me their company name. I went home and began investigating the company for reviews, complaints, and BBB ratings. Next step was to call the company for a consultation. John the owner immediately returned my call and was over my house the next day to discuss my construction requirements. With my due diligence completed I provided all information to my wife for discussion. She spoke with John herself, and a date was set to replace our driveway the following week. Patio Doctor handled all of Plano's permits and inspections. All activities, from getting paperwork approved by the city to the completion of work were seamless to me. I did not participate in any conversations regarding issues that occurred. Patio Doctor took responsibility for them; they sought solutions and implemented them. This is a task for which they get paid. They delivered outstandingly. Our driveway has been completed, and we are elated with the work performed. Due to the relationship, we have built with John, we have approved of an agreement to have his company install a custom-built carport next spring. Our neighbor had one installed recently, and it is stunning in its design and craftmanship. We look forward to our installation. Patio Doctor is a company that is fair and equitable in its business practices; engage them. You owe it to yourself to include them in your due diligence for having construction work performed. One more metric can be a game changer in your decision-making process. I will add that laying cement requires true craftmanship. There are so many variables that need to be formulated for it to be installed correctly. This is the reason you need a "seasoned" expert. These installations are too expensive for subpar work. Thank you, John and crew, for your outstanding workmanship and excellent results.

I am amending this review as the owner of the company, Mr Thomas Carroll, contacted me on March…read more9th, 2017 (over 1 year later) wanting the review removed from this site. I wrote the review and moved on. We did not pursue this matter further and just got on with our lives. The review was left to possibly spare others of what we endured. For record, the date on the original review was 1/6/2016. As Mr. Carroll's memories differ greatly from the memories my wife and I have of the events, I will cut this down to a more minimal review. Hopefully he does remember, in our recent conversation on 3/9/17, how he "mentioned" that he has a lawyer on retainer. This tactic did not worry me, but in the interest of fairness to him I will limit what follows. His company did pave our driveway and our back patio. The driveway was the best part of the work. His workers did get overspray of sealant on our siding, along the bottom of some fences and on some paving stones. (see pictures) The sealant was not offered in the initial estimate. It was offered after the asphalt was laid. It would have been good to know about this in the initial estimate for budget concerns. We did ask if we needed to remove any paving stones or other items prior to the work being completed. The gates did work after the paving was done. They did not work perfectly, but were operable. To open and close the small entry gate, we had to pull the adjoining fence to the left at first to allow it to clear. This has cleared up over time. The main gates did rub a little on the fresh asphalt, but again were operable. When it rained the first time after the asphalt was in place, the gates would not open from the asphalt swelling. My wife and I did have to pay to have the gates adjusted as they were useless and would not open to allow us to get our lawn equipment out to work on the front yard. We did initially request that in the back yard, a space would be left between the paving and the house to place plants and/or mulch. This area was paved all the way up to the siding of the house. In the end, the only part of the job we are truly pleased with to any extent is the driveway. We have not done so as of yet, but need to get the oversprayed siding either painted or replaced. Also, we will have to eventually call another paving contractor to fill in where the paving stones still lie or have the current asphalt removed and the job redone. I would RECOMMEND that if you deal with this company, get EVERYTHING either in WRITING or RECORD the conversation. This could possibly save you issues later on. My wife and I will not use this contractor again. The whole experience ended poorly for us. We had put it behind us until now and were just getting on with our lives. It is painful to us that it is being brought to the forefront of our lives again. The pictures he posted of my reviews for his company do not pertain to his business. They have been reported to Yelp. Yelp has since removed the photos. I appreciate their vigilance against unwarranted reprisal. I have kept copies in the event their appearance on this site is ever disputed. Thank you for reading.
