I am a satisfied repeat customer of Affordable DFW Contractors. Paul, my project manager, spent…read moretime on site to understand what I had in mind and provided detailed, accurate estimates. He worked with me to break the job into a series of phases that I could afford and the timing that worked for me. He had insightful advice about different trade offs to get the best value for my money. Some of the work done included: landscaping, building/finishing a carport, interior painting, exterior painting, installing new electrical and light fixtures, and plumbing. I had the work done while I was out of town and unable to visit frequently. Paul saw things through from start to finish. Highly recommended!

They did exactly what they were contracted to do (along with a few extras from my old lady requests!) Eleazar is one of the best tile installers I have come across. They take a lot of pride in their work and it showed. They cleaned up everyday and left it totally clean on the last day. They did it in a very timely manner. The price was comparable to any other contractor in the area. I highly recommend Ivan and his company and will be using them again in the future.

Personable, friendly gave a great bid but unfortunately was not up to the task…read more He seemed to have a real issue with measuring. The closet he built us does not have a right angle in it and one side is a full inch and a quarter longer than the other, making it very difficult to find a door. The sliding door he installed is not centered so there's this weird filler on only one side. He didn't give us the correct measurements to purchase the door in the right size to begin with, which I think caused the off-center installation. Either he decided he couldn't do the work or got bored with the job, either way, he left us, for weeks, in the middle and went to do another job (very well reviewed, with pictures on Yelp). He made excuses every day (he was sick, his dogs got loose, Home Depot didn't have what he needed...) about why he couldn't come, never mentioning he was working on a different job. We only found out when we were looking through Yelp and saw their review. He finally showed back up with workers that he hadn't had before and asked that I pay half of their day's wages ($400 which was not an agreement in the original bid). The next time I saw him, he showed up around noon, got nothing done for a whole half day then left again. That was the day we decided we had to change. We needed the work done by March and he had proved we could not rely on him. (By the way we are still struggling, as elderly people unable to do the work ourselves, to get the work completed and it's now the following January). We had paid him in full for several jobs that he either did not do at all or did not complete. We requested a refund. He gave most of it back, in small amounts, with a couple of months prodding online, but never came through with the final $100 he owed us. I was angry, but now I'm just sad because he seemed like a nice guy, but as the job wore on it was obvious it was just too big for him and he had an excuse every day why he couldn't be here on time, why he couldn't be here at all and why he always needed more money. He would go to Home Depot every day and buy supplies that we paid for and one day he decided to buy himself a new power tool, that we paid for. I guess nice people have issues too. Sadly, I would not recommend him.

Her insurance company (Travelers) recommended Old South Construction, and after seeing many positive reviews, we made the best decision by hiring them. Katie/Katelyn, Ashtyn, Rachel, and Will were all phenomenal. Their constant communication and reassurance regarding project timeline, material selections, and collaborating with her insurance adjuster made the entire process smooth and hassle-free. From the construction crew to the front office, everyone single person we interacted with was kind, professional, and respectful. The end result of my mom's home turned out INCREDIBLE. The level of care and attention to detail they put into the work, as if it were their own home, is unmatched by any construction company we've worked with before. We could not have asked for a better outcome. My sister was impressed after constantly hearing us praise about this experience, she ended up hiring them for her own kitchen remodel just a month later. I will absolutely be reaching out to Old South Construction again in the future regarding my own home remodel in the future :)
