She was personable and knowledgeable. Best of all is the receptionist, Amy E, who consistently provides the most friendly and helpful support! We had a very unfortunate experience at Lexington eye Associates today with Dr. Doshi. We brought…read moreour two year-old child in to get checked out, and it was very clear that the doctor had very limited experience working with a two-year-old patient, having difficulty conducting any test and asking them to do things way beyond their age level, including asking them to kneel, to describe the theme of their last birthday party, and when experiencing any difficulty, displayed zero patience and simply said that we would have to come back in another year's time to run the exact same test again due to what she noted as a behavioral issue. In addition to shaming my child, she also told him that he would be getting a toy at the end of the appointment, and when our child showed difficulty in putting on the temporary sunglasses (with eyes dilated), she swiftly gave up on that idea, went back to her office, shut the door, and our child was given no toy. Arguably most frustrating was the fact that we showed up to our appointment on time and did not actually see the doctor for an hour and 20 minutes, at which point our child was already low on patience. Overall, I would've appreciated some understanding from the doctor, and at least some new information, as we will now have to wait 2 years to get a single update. Not coming back to LEA is a very easy decision to make!

Dr. Karalekas is an excellent listener and has a great "bedside manner". Her office staff and assistants are also very caring and attentive. Dr. Karalekas does have a busy practice but wait times are not excessive. But more importantly her staff is attentive and makes sure that they go out of their way to pay attention to you during wait times. My wife has also become a patient of the Dr. She has had cataract surgery in both eyes this year. Both procedures were very successful and she is quite pleased with the results. I would recommend Dr. Karalekas to anyone in need of such care. One final note; the previous Dr. that I became disenchanted with had his practice in Worcester, a much closer drive then Dr. Karalekas' Marlboro office. However, Dr. Karalekas also has a satellite office in Worcester, which I can usually use. However, I do not hesitate to travel to Marlboro when needed because her services are well worth the additional travel.

If the patient doesn't understand what they're consenting to by definition they cannot consent and whoever that is the patient brings cannot consent unless they are legally empowered to do so by the state. The office manager Amy decided to phone the patient at 8:30am on the 11th to cancel the appointment he had at 2pm that day. Then yesterday she called again and cancelled all his appointments.
